- I recently picked up a couple of Accurascale's Manors - but are they Awesome or Awful?
UPDATE -
Replacement Torquay manor has now arrived, performance is much better - still not perfect but certainly acceptable!

Glad you enjoyed it, Accurascale will get a replacement out ASAP! 😊
Got a replacement now, works much better! 😊 Can't wait for my 50!
I made a comparison with the Dapol Manor on DC. The Dapol was the better crawler. The Accurascale needed to be turned up less on the controller to maintain speed. So it was swings and roundabouts. Watch the slow down is not wheel slip. Mine were filthy and went better after cleaning. Glad you like yours. I like mine too. Cheers Paul.
That's an interesting comparison, I too have found that the Dapol Manors are better at crawling (from a friend), but equally Accura's have more torque etc etc, I suppose it just depends on what your priorities are! Glad you like yours! 🙂
I've got 7802 running on DCC, it crawls well with no slowing on my curves.
there are a few negative comments on other reviews but I've not experienced that with mine.
Yeah - from what I've heard it's an isolated issue - the replacement works fine!
I have 7802 on DCC. There is a video on my channel and this shows a bit of wheel slip but I would blame my track before the loco. Slow speed running is excellent.
brillaint video that box is massive
Thanks - the box sure is massive - it's the biggest one in my collection!
Beautiful looking without doubt, but far too fragile. You have to break the right hand tender hand rail to get to the decoder!! (Yes it glued back on but poor design) With an HM7000 decoder it just would not run consistently on anything but my test track. Unfortunately sent back for a refund. Shame it looked great.
Yeah - very fragile but that's the way it tends be these days. It seems they've focussed more on looks than running characteristics, but the plus side of that is that they do look good!
Rubbish motor, pathetic worm-gear cover, doesn't have the torque that it should have, and the size of the box is stupid beyond belief! If I can think of anything positive then I'll be sure to let them know.
I have to say I agree with all of your points! The motor is definitely not good - there's nothing wrong with a much larger 5 pole - even Bachmann use better motors!
