Boy that is exactly what we need. And adding the capability of have the switch to adjust speed is sweet. That’s thinking. Never liked that adding to trolling motor pole. Still waiting on my motor but that’s getting added later. Great job showing it!!
This product is an amazing idea for a great price. One thing I want people to keep in mind is that you will have to slow down when searching for fish. The reason for this is because you have to stop moving and put your foot on the other petal to look for fish. Amazing for spot lock but not so much when speed searching or when you are trying to turn and look at the same time. If you mainly fish windy areas that are off shore or use spot lock all the time its a must have.
One thing I’ve found when searching and trying to keep up a good pace is to use remote for the Live Scanner and keep my foot on my Ghost pedal…this is why I highly recommend getting the remote with the scanner!…wait until ya see the new release, I’m about to post a video in the very near future showcasing the upcoming updates, they’re always improving this thing and the new release addresses this exact topic!
I think the great idea in this case is to use routing and run the boat using autopilot mode. I mean for example this video th-cam.com/video/KhVO2C30ZpM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=CharlesWest
Thanks Kev!…send them an email and check with them, they’re great people to work with, maybe they’ll know a way to pull it off…that’ll be a sick setup!
Yea lots of good options out there, but I wouldn’t trade my Live Scanner for anything…can’t imagine fishing without it now…haha…Rite Hite has adjustable speed on the fly???…they must have added that, they didn’t have that feature when I looked at them…they sold em in 2 different speed options but you couldn’t adjust it yourself
Do you have the top head of the scanner oriented for max left and right viewing or can the head be aligned in any position? Just ordered one and watched different videos and haven't seen anything on lining up arrow and transducer. Very excited and thanks for the info, figured now would be the time to get 1 of these I bet the demand will be crazy over the winter.
Hey Jim!…yes sir, I aligned it so I have max coverage to left and right, but technically you can align it however is best for you…when I installed it I deployed motor and tested out range to left/right before tightening everything down…play with it and get it exactly where ya like it, you’re gonna love this thing man!…thanks for watching!
what would really be nice and I am not sure if I should mention it and patent the idea, is to spot lock on the school of fish with the active target and the hook up you have would move with the school. almost like radar. lock on a fish target in the school and lock on. just a thought.
Thanks for the kind words Louis, I appreciate it!… I have not added that brace just yet, I’m thinking of trying to fabricate some thing for myself but up to this point I have not used a brace… If I can’t come up with anything on my own I will probably grab that one for supporting the live Scanner, but I haven’t had any issues just yet!
I got the live scanner elite after watching your first vid about it. I have the swing arm mount and can adjust it. I think you said you got the long pole? I have the short pole. Does it get too close to the trolling motor with the longer pole????
Nice!…how are ya liking it?…and yepper, I got the 52” Live Scanner (I have the 47” Ghost)…reason I did that is because I knew I wanted my Scanner to sit higher above my Ghost for easy viewing, the head of my Live Scanner is just above top of Ghost…no issues at the bottom, it clears the head of trolling motor/prop with room to spare, it worked out perfectly!
Noticed you had absolutely 0 interference on your AT screen. I have an Ultrex, graphs are dedicated wired, but still get some "waves" or "pulses" on my AT screen, even with sonar off on second plotter. The pulses seem to shoot away from the AT. What could that be?
It’s most likely interference from trolling motor…the Ghost is brushless so it’s much less likely to cause interference…I can’t say for certain that’s what it is without seeing it in action, but the Ultrex isn’t a brushless motor so it’s more prone to causing interference…if you do a search for “how to get rid of interference on your graph” you’ll find a bunch of videos on the topic!…hope that helps!
First off, thanks for the informative videos, they have been very helpful! I just installed active target last weekend, and I just ordered the 52" live scanner elite 2. I have a couple of questions. How important is the MKA-55 stabilizer they suggest you purchase? Those are out of stock so I ordered the Ram Mount RAMRAP-400-202U. Wondering if you think it's even necessary. If it makes a difference, I have my Lowrance ghost stabilized with a troll tamer when it's stowed which locks it in solid. Did you use the swing mount from live scanner, and did you mount it port or starboard? Also, based on your fishing experience with it, how important is it to have a separate graph dedicated to active target? I currently have a 12" HDS Live at the bow and a 9" HDS Live at the console. I thought about getting a 7" HDS Live for the bow and putting maps on it and active target on the 12". Thoughts?
Hey Leighton!… i’m sorry, I don’t know how I missed your comment, let me see if I can help! I have not used a stabilizer mount like the MKA-55 with mine and I haven’t had any issues yet… I have been trying to fabricate some thing on my own to give it a little extra support but so far so good, they do recommend using it though for obvious reasons I don’t have the swing mount either, it’s a nice option for sure but I just don’t think I need it with my setup…I have my scanner mounted on the Port side of the Ghost As for the Active Target, it’s a HUGE plus having it on its own graph… while it’s certainly not needed, if it’s in the budget I would highly recommend it… I run mine on a 16 inch screen all by itself and I can definitely see better detail having it isolated on its own graph, but even a 12 for Active Target is an awesome setup Hope al that helps, let me know if ya need anything else and thanks for watching!
What battery setup are you running Lith or AGM? Sizes if you can relay... I am running HDS Live 16's, one console and one bow with active target on Ghost shaft now. Love the idea of Live Scanner and want to drop 2 HDS Live 12's on console and move my other 16 to bow, similar to your setup. I'm wondering if I will have enough juice to run everything though. I have AGM battery setup now on my 2020 Z21.
Hey Matt!... I run all lithium, two 125ah in parallel for cranking/electronics, and three 50ah for Ghost....hooked up to Power Pole Charge... they last crazy long, I can fish 2-3 days without plugging in... I actually have an on the water video here on the channel showing the set up, couldn't be happier with it!
Amazing Video as usual. I have the same live scanner. Mounted it to my ghost but doesn’t sit straight. Did you add washers to the lower bolts to level it . Any pics of the bolts side view
Thanks Paul, I appreciate that!!…hmm, that’s strange…I didn’t add anything to my setup but it’s pretty straight on (lined up parallel to Ghost)…I would shoot them an email and ask, that doesn’t sound right to me…any issues with performance?
@@NitroZ18Fishing I haven’t tried it yet. I ran it on the boat in the stowed position wasn’t going to the right fully when in slower speed. I contacted them about both issues. They said to run it in the water and let them know . The other issue they didn’t respond about being level
Yea that’s weird, I checked mine today when I was in garage, it’s basically parallel with Ghost shaft…let me know when ya get it on the water and how ya make out!
Got em from Zdecals before they lost the right to make em…last I heard they can no longer produce them unfortunately…check with the company “Sign Impressions”, they may be able to help ya out!
Great video. I have the exact same set up as you. I mounted on the port side as well. I want the Live Scanner head parallel with my Ghost Trolling motor head. Just looks cleaner that way. However, with it positioned like this, a good amount of my 270 degrees of rotation will be looking backwards. Is there a set screw or something to adjust the pole to center on the front of the boat? For example adjust it so the arrow points straight forward with 135 degrees of rotation equally to both sides of the boat???
That is a bit confusing. What I mean is with it mounted like that my axis of rotation is not centered to the front of my boat. Is there a set screw or some means to adjust for different mounting positions ?
Hey Xavier, thank you!…I know exactly what you mean, here’s what I did to fix that…I took the arrow off the head (but you have to do this very carefully so you don’t break the tabs that hold it in place)…once you have it off, you’ll see how it sits down in there, there’s 4 grooves that line up…I rotated the arrow 1 groove to the right, popped it back on, and now it’s much closer to lining up perfectly with the Ghost head…hope that makes sense, if not let me know and maybe I’ll do a short video on it!
Is there any interference from the trolling motor shaft or motor itself? When looking to the left it has the shafte right beside it. It has to block some of the transducer beams while looking left. Seems to me the transducer being lower under the motor would keep a clear view to the left? Not practical I guess unless being used in deeper water huh
Hey Bill!…no issues with that, view is not blocked at all at any point…I’ll be releasing a video in the next few days showing the next prototype I’m testing for them, I’ll make sure to show that!…thanks for watching!
Doesn’t bother me much at all to be honest, it covers a huge area…if I wanna scan the small spot it doesn’t I’ll just turn Ghost to see the rest (behind/under boat)…that’s the only minor negative with these types of mounts, none of them spin a full 360 unfortunately…hope that helps!
In this video it was there original scanner, but they’ve upgraded it a couple times since making this one!…check out their Quad Scan version on their website, that’s the one I’m currently running and it’s insane!…best mount on the market!
Hey Randy!…no sir, they’re going strong…they’re about to release the next Gen in the very near future from what I understand…are you having trouble reaching them???
Thanks man!… I would absolutely recommend the true scan, I have a newer video on the channel showing what that one does vs the pro… It’s 💯 worth the extra money in my opinion!
What length is your ghost shaft and what length is your Live Scanner? Reason I ask some like the head of the Scanner above the head of trolling motor like yours in this video some say it is easier to see the direction arrow on scanner that way some mount as intended which is lower below trolling motor head, have you tried both or have any advice on this. TY love your videos.
Thank you!!…My Ghost is the 47” and my Scanner is the 52” option, for this exact reason…I wanted my scanner to sit a little higher, works perfectly!…thanks for watching!
Check out their swing arm option, depending on what TM ya have it’s an option you can add on that allows ya to swing entire system into boat for fitting your cover!…hope that helps!

Thank you!…yea that variable speed option is priceless, sets this mount above the rest for sure!
Great video review... I was on the fence with the variable speed control, but I'm convinced now. Just placed my order... Thank you!

Thank you!…totally agree, can’t imagine fishing without it now!
Will my nitro boat cover still fit on my boat after I put this live scope mount on?
Great video! Definitely want to get one. Just have to see how I can get away with that AND my mega 360

hello what does the 800 dollar livescanner offer and is worth it and can you scan behind the boat or is it limited to just up front
