World Eaters next please, you do a really good job of explaining not only the use case of each model but also the reasons they fit that use case. Im finding it way easier to understand what a model does/is for using the metrics you explain like damage, ap
I am playing my first game tomorrow with Nids as well! Was good to hear a perspective on the play style and strengths before going in. Always felt that the Prime would be better to hold back and not just get blown off the board before he has a chance to impact and score VP. Sad about the psychophage. I really enjoyed painting it and it is probably my best looking model, just before my Prime. I wonder if the FNP will come in handy at all...
@@troyschnierer2940I won both my matches against the sisters easily. In both matches, I advanced my leapers deep to the enemy side which severely tied up there units for the for 3 rounds while I used termagaunts to grab objectives. And the psychophage was very useful as meat shield. I put him in the middle of the board and my opponent wasted tons of attacks on it without being able to kill it. Both matches were blowouts for the swarm. Good luck!
This made me happy. I was on a tight budget and new to the hobby. Was randomly looking at this box. (Was really thinking hard which one i wanted to play when the store owner came up. Recommended the starter set i did the math and it just made sence basically 2 combat patrols for 155 euro (ye i got the librarian and the barbs separate, to complete.) Instead of 130 for 1. Then i got home was still hyped about the deal and then it set in. Tyranids are pretty cool but dont think i would have ever picked them and for the space marines i guess i dont mind but it is an army i was always scared of for the kitbashing needs of certain chapters (thinking of salamanders atm or raven) but this tyranid playstyle is right up my ally. Guess its time for my nids to get some paint in time for this weekends local gamenight.
Great video, I would love to see a similar video of the admech combat patrol since I picked that up before the tyranid one and I'm struggling with it. I got the old one with the dunecrawler but I'd imagine all admech has the same-ish problems that I've encountered.
Great breakdown! The usual way I have found to play the combat patrol is using the leaper's and winged prime's incredible mobility, hold them back and have them multicharge alongside the psychophage to kill one enemy scoring unit. The psychophage won't kill more than a couple models but alongside the leapers and prime can usually kill most any light infantry squad. Once you remove one unit from your opponents force you basically switch to dying as slow as possible, using the stratagems you outlined to cover the board and use your 6 units to outscore your opponent who will likely have only 2-4 units and won't be able to stop the termagants from scoring freely.
Thanks for this one it really helps! (Gonna try some shenanigans the Psychophage we’ll see if it works out 😄) I’m curious to see a video on the new Tau combat patrol when it’s released.
Continue with the series man! It‘s so helpful. But go back to the style of the other 3. The quiet lo fi hip hop beat, you in the corner and the information in the middle. Simple but top notch and easy to produce / edit. Keep going with those guides. You have a decent amount of plays on em. Could be worth for the channel and really helpful for new players
A good video and agree on most things, but I’d have to disagree with you on a few fronts. You can’t run the same plan for different opponents. Not every opponent/faction is the same. The better secondary to take is the optional one where you score 5VP if you hold the opponents home objective. If you take the default secondary you need to expose your winged prime to danger in order to get the kills, he is not durable even with a +4 invulnerable and will die. If he dies you cannot use shadow in the warp and you lose any synapse benefits. Termagaunts should run in squads of two in most cases, this gives you two squads who have sticky objectives which are invaluable for scoring.
Amazing video! completely 40k noob here, I have the grey knights combat patrol but haven't been able to score decently much, less winning. Any tips for grey knights?
Tried this. Got SLAPPED by World Eaters. They move faster, get onto the points instantly and you just can’t dislodge them. Having respawning gaunts isn’t as useful when they can’t get their OC onto points and they lack the AP to damage anything your enemy has.
To be fair I don’t think this combat patrol has any chance against world eaters regardless of what you do. You just move block, never charge into them cause they’ll wipe anything and everything, at least force them to wipe your units on their own turn
Whenever you want to deny your opponent points, to be fair, it’s not that good. People pass battle shock tests more than they fail, especially since the combat patrol team doesn’t force your opponent to be -1 to their battle shock test. Can be good when it matters but it’s like hitting a half court shot to win the game

Thank you for ridding of all the fluff. Making it simple to watch and take notes during a break.

The Phage is all about tanking. He just body blocks and holds objectives.
Great video! Combat Patrol is such a great game mode. Thanks for showing it some love!
Love your Psychophage advice ❤😂 tomorrow i m gonna put some blood on mine to make it look more frightning 😂
Gotta take advantage of the frightening speed
Great channel. Liked and subscribed.

The reinforcements step happens at the end of the movement phase, not the beginning

@@40k4noobsIsn't the Tyranid buff that made opponents take -1 to battleshock tests added to Combat Patrol? 😊
