- In this video I will be escaping the cave dweller in minecraft, the mod used in this video was made by Gargin.
Hi guys. I'm Idk Someguy on Minecraft. Or formerly known as Wake. I create funny Minecraft videos; beside that, I story tell and use a lot of sound effects and visuals to enhance the viewer experience. My Minecraft idea collection is very grand. I have many ideas that relate to other TH-camrs, such as Forgelabs, mcyum, Rekrap. Occasionally, I might also do videos that include more meme content. I'm currently creating Cinematic thriller content for Minecraft, its done in a very cinematic way.

The way that Cave Dweller just vanishes when you walk past the dripstone felt straight out of a horror movie. 10/10 man, this is so eerie

@@idk_someguyI wish it could do more than just crouch, and crawl, yes those are cool, but if it were more smart and more life-like than that, it could be able to open/close doors, open/close trapdoors and be able to break blocks. But overall very scary mod, i'd still be shitting my pants lol

@@CatsAreKindaCool yeah think about if you're in a huge ass cave and there's no real way to get to you since you're on the high ground, instead of running around underneath you like a dopey ai, it will instead start climbing the walls to get to you. It would also keep you from being able to nerdpole to easily escape it
The fact the cave dweller chose to disappear through a thin object like an old horror movie just made it better.

He can also just run away from your eyes and disappear. That's so fucking scary.

The way this is coded is insane, it just staring at you through that open cave then disappearing behind the dripstone was flawless

Yeah, it’s fun. I just wish they’d witness the monster fitting into smaller spaces more frequently though. Also I wish the monster could do more, like climb, because it’s too easy to avoid if you know what you’re doing.

You know what would make this even more terrifying, combining it with graveyard. Graveyard is another horror themed mod with similar creepy shock enemy’s that though they largely behave like normal mobs have unsettling appearances

10:50 so, about the "stare" function, it's basically coded to stare at you until you break sight. So when the dripstone broke your sight, it despawned and spawned a new one somewhere else.
Also, side info, it's AI doesn't have a roam algorithm. So it doesn't really stalk you. When it spawns, it stands at one place until either you see it or it sees you. It's kinda like you stalking it. Since technically you're the intruder.
"Cave Dweller" name checks out for this.

@Horse_In_A_Suit half enderman it's mixed with a baby zombie so it can crawl in 1x1 spaces and 1x2 spaces it goes on all fours to chase you. It's a interesting mob
good explanation on it. Furthermore, there's a timer tick on how often it spawns in your surroundings, I had the nightmare version which seemed to be much more frequent than the regular versions.

Climbing would definitely be horrific. Just imagine you're walking around in a cave, look up and see bro crawling on the ceiling, don't even wanna think of it. Make sure not to tell Gargin XD

Imagine the cave dweller can simulate false sounds of random mobs, for example, zombie. You will think you safe and it's just a regular zombie growling and walking around but...
I like that there is something in the caves that you don't want to come across. It's like the Warden but better. Really changes the feeling of mining.

Cool additions to the dweller could be like torches going out randomly (a new item or item to relight torches) when the dweller is lurking nearby, and the dweller slowly peaking and going back from a corner (must be at least a 2x2 of any cave/ mineshaft block.
If It could blow out torches, like it has an ability that a wind breeze passes, that'd be incredible. I'm sure Gargin will make updates to this mob
Maybe a minecrafty way is you have to break it and replace it
The fact that on 7:08 you were too paralyzed to even place blocks fast just confirms how scary impact this mod gives.

This mod would be a lot more terrifying with a few things:
remove all other hostile mobs in the cave, so it's just you and the dweller.
give the cave dweller the ability to climb, be on the ceiling like a spider, and break blocks
If you get the mod “Bad Mobs” you can remove all the mobs you want
It definitely strikes a more eerie phase without other mobs around.
If other mobs would flee from it...
Or a cave dweller passively preventing new spawns within a broad radius.
The fact that there is a mod that is a caving dimension just makes this more terrifying

Now I want to secretly install it on my computer, invite someone to play (deliberately putting myself in a deep cave with poor tools) and watch them struggle between fear and curiosity

honestly, you made minecraft a horror game, the dripstone, the water droplets, the particles of gravel and the harsh orange glow of the torches at 10:13 make it terrifying, may i ask which shader you use?

Gargin should make it so it can't despawn. Only one will spawn each time naturally and it will always hunt you down. Even if you block the exit and leave the cave, it will still be there, waiting until you return. Also, make it climb very fast and be able to leave the cave to chase you.

I loved the concept of spawning in a cave with limited resources and having this godforsaken mod paired with it; you practically turned Minecraft into a horror game
And instead of actively trying to find and kill the mob, you were scared of it and actively avoided it which made it more mysterious and terrifying as it was intended; paired with the edited ambient noises and music to match each scene (ESPECIALLY at 7:00) just made it so damn scary and perfect.

your video caught my interest because you're reviewing the new cave dweller mod in a new and cool way, but after watching the video i actually really enjoy your editing, voice, and how you dont feel like you're "acting"
if you want to keep the steam train rolling with the views, i suggest you try to capture the niche of scary + minecraft with your genuine reactions, like playing some scary minecraft maps or doing similar challenges like the one in this video.

I know it would probably ruin the aspect of the entity, but it would be funny to have an above-ground variant of the entity but Gargin doesn't tell anybody about it, so they end up experiencing it completely blind. So you exit the cave and you're sighing with joy at having escaped, only to wrap around a tree and come face to face with a Dweller.
Nah thats a nice idea. But he should be different, maybe spawn like the warden does, it digs its way to the surface at night

The thing I love that the creator of the cave dweller does is he makes his characters almost human in personality when the monster can’t complete killing you it seems to give up. But it actually just distracts you for when it comes back to complete the job it’s almost like a heavily determined toddler kinda cute ❤

i really wanted to be scared, but the music took away from that for me. I couldn't focus on the creepy environment much with the strumming
but, still really good video. I think the take of just being dropped into its territory was really unique and it almost makes me want a sort of dedicated horror map made for this mod. Super cool

I feel like the cave dweller would be alot better if it used the normal minecraft cave sounds. That way you'll never know if its normal sounds or not. And for actual survival worlds in minecraft and stuff it'd just be better if it was much much rarer and more likely to just observe/stalk you than actively chase you.
it has a stalker phase but it didn't activate it in the video, also cave noises are what it was founded on and why it exists, so it should use the old ones aswell as the new ones

@@marcovalencia146 Both would be good. That way you'd get the new cave sounds that you'd constantly listen for but you'd occasionally get caught off guard by a usual one.

Cave Dweller can easily pass through 1 square empty block zone, since it is code it like this, so always wall everything up.

Found diamonds along the way due to my height level, then just climbed up in the flat cavern and encountered the part with the tunnel that leads outside and the one to the mineshaft.

Yes you can quite easily actually
Yeah you can. But if you fight it one on one its a bit more complicated depending on your armor. Someone in Iron/No armor wont have an easy time unless they glitch doing it.
One of the things I love about horror mods is that ur so focused on the thing that is added the other mobs become scary aswell

3 ways to make the guy more terrifying:
Lunging:What if he could lunge to you to close distance
Climbing:What if he could stalk you from the ceiling or cling your tower
Mimicking:What if he could minick the sound of a dog getting damaged or a sound of a zombie or a valueable item somehow
What if instead of mimicking just have him mirror. You see him and hes staring at you but in reality that's a clone and hes standing behind you instead.
No joke, this got my heart beating. Like DAMN.
