That was brilliant! Found out some stuff about it... the bridge and ha ha are listed as is the folly (the caves/grotto?) . Before the present buildings (1960's) there was a large mansion (15 bedrooms), pleasure grounds, walled kitchen garden, coach house & stables. There were also several cottages ,farm buildings, malt houses with residences, stone quarry, blacksmith's forge, hope and fruit gardens, 425 acres of pasture and arable land making up the estate. A fire destroyed most of the mansion in the 1940's but apparently the cellars still exist under the current buildings. The past owners seemed to have been a nice bunch.. in the 1840's the owner distributed "a liberal quantity of beef, potatoes, ale & etc" to each of his workers every Christmas. The head of the last family to own it came from nothing, built his own company up and treated his staff far better than most employers do now. What an amazing place with an amazing history- Thank you x
This is awesome. I'm from England but live in New Zealand now. This is what I miss. History, and finding things from the past. You never know what you are going find. There's none off that here. Well not very much. Anything really old is natural history. This exploration reminds me of an episode of A Passion for Angling, where they sneak into to an centuries untouched, overgrown garden of a manor house estate. Catching massive old carp in ponds and the flooded landscape gardens. So this is really fun for me to watch this kind of English urban exploration. I really miss it.
That's a Ha-Ha (or Park Pale) at 06:40 Primarily to keep deer (and people) out, but designed so they can get out if they do get in. The old stone underground section is either a Victorian Grotto (around 150 years old) or medieval tunnels (400-500 years old). I'd assume the Ha-Ha was built during the same period.
I can't get over how beautiful the stone wall, the abandoned bridge, and especially that fallen railing covered in moss is! Would love to photograph that! I swear the birds sing more beautifully in your country. 🤔 That tunnel was sick! The rest of the explore was a bit disappointing, but still enjoyed watching you guys!
I got the impression the cave was a bit of a grotto - Just a frivolous bit of fun. I built something similar in my old garden, only one eighth this size, but with stained glass and a roof made of wire netting and cement with lots of old half-bottles to let the light in. It had a barbie in the centre and seating around. A couple of years of work but fun.
Now that is really old cellar tunnels . school most lightly build on an old middle-aged foundation . next stop the local library and old maps like we do before metaldetecting
Sad, a place like that could be fixed and used for a homeless helter, for abused women and children or a nursing home.. heart breaking to see a part of history decaying.
Great video. You show the raw of adventuring which isn't common now. You definitely don't dramatise it or make it like like an easy thing to do. I explored back when only photos were what you could take home with you. Congratulations on your channel guys x
Another brill explore, guys loved the caves it was shame some of it was boarded up, but l enjoy watching you guys on a Sunday and look forward to the next explore xx😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The shear amount of steps y'all put in, amazes me. #Alex, one day I'm going to send you a step counter BC I'm curious just how many miles y'all do on an explorer! Stay safe! See ya soon for the next one
That was a good one. Can't even imagine what went on there to be locked up that and bricked off. The cave was really interesting. To bad you couldn't have got a camera down in that hole near the end. You guys are fun to watch.
You guys just never fail to amaze us! ✨️ you work so hard to show us these places nice to see what's out there most of us won't explore and see see you next time 😉 😎
Great explore always Love to see Ed on a mission excellent cave plus buildings Always enjoy your explores Alex, Ed and Ned never a dull moment, You guys are the best
The Caves I see them as a Home at one time.😋 The Alter ,as you called it,I see as a table. The child's wheels, a toy of some kind. Or possibly wagon😍 All the widowa are for light. So kind of family or Entity shared the spsce.Of course, this was what I felt. Wanted to share my oetsoective🤗 Thanks for your Videos😎
A very intrepid explore Guy's.. That Medieval Chapple, ( or whatever it is) was a great find.. Well spotted Pompeye... If rocks could talk, you'd have a great tale to tell of the goings on there.
Wow Alex,Ed ,Ned and Steve I’m saving my manhood what have you found there it looks a great place for an explore it’s a shame the local toerags hadn’t bust a door or window open for you then you’d of been there for a few hours as I bet there was some good stuff to see inside especially when they have spent so much to keep it secure. It’s a shame but you never know a look back in a few months and the magic of time you maybe able to get inside. Let’s hope for that. 😊😊😊😊 keep safe and keep the videos a rolling.😊😊😊😊
In the old castles the round thing coming down from the ceiling the pipe is a bathroom pipe it went to the bottom were dirt was. The shelf is were they set lime on to show on the pee and poop.it was a smelly area. Someone would remove the poop to a out side dug hole .that was a above ground septect room our now adays , septect tanks of today.
Very cool but strange tunnel!! Would have been fun to get inside, but pretty locked up! Kinda gave me the creeps to see a baby stroller and a flat rock!! Another great video guys. Poor Steve!
Such a historical find! I wonder if the amazing tunnels could have been an old military fortress? Any battles in that region in the way past. I mean a mote is protection from invaders, right? Can you imagine building those tunnels and those walls? Amazing. I can just imagine back in time coming up to the huge bldg on horseback over that beautiful bridge.
The whole site seems steeped in mystery. It some how looks like an old research lab using the remains of a church as cover... or a school like you say. The old crypt underneath looks much older than the church so the site has some very interesting history.... would like to know more and possibly the location would be helpful
Lay a jacket along the top when you climb over fences like that, had a mate who lost a spud when he slipped and a spike went through his trousers and severed it off.
Getting serious Wicker Man vibes from the caves or maybe that Nic Cage movie Mandy...the plant shapes on the outside look like pagan decoration. Great vid as usual guys.
Any history on this place? Are those tunnels part of a Victorian folly, or actually old old? I think its a folly and meant to look older than it is. But is there any info about the estate and the building & grounds? Like how long has it been abandoned? When was it in service and what exactly for? Physical therapy and rehab? but what's the giant tower for then? What was it originally for? Cheers heaps.
That was a weird one tonight guy's but I enjoyed it you always find unusual site's but tonight you couldn't get into the building hopefully next weeks will be a surprise one take care guy's can't wait till next week 🤟🤘🤙
What comes to mind here guys is a type of Cold War Bletchley park MI5,,,,,, so much security (fencing) the graffiti guys were in there a long time yeah great video guys ,,,keep em comein

Nice one!
Thanks for the info, very interesting!
Thank you Rose, I love knowing the history of places.💖 Sounds very beautiful, such a shame it's gone 🙁
@@VacantHaven a lot of old mansions had secret society grotto,s.. illuminati, witch, brothels, for the bores elite..
Was that sacrificial altar for the employee of the month club?
It's a crying shame that place has been abandoned.

I can relate I'm British and live in California. I miss the history very much. This is the land of boring ticky tacky boxes. 🙁
@@daphnerosemoon9843 Doesn't Canada have history as old as America? at least that's some history. We have nothing, bar a few wooden carvings.
tunnel looked like an old ice house.. the top opening would have been easy way to load ice down there..
😂 I like that Steve knows his limits, a spike up the poo shute isn't my idea of a good time either 😂
I was 15mm away from having a shit sack for life when it happened to me !
Incredible how quick Mother Earth will take back what was once hers.. amazing video boys, I always look forward to Sunday night. Cheers

Thanks, Alex, Ned, and EDDY! The A-Team!

Here in Southern California USA that would have been destroyed and completely covered in graffiti, nice to have things you can still see
Eddie is a go getter.he will do anything great vid bro .thanks for sharing

Let's do it..... absolutely love hearing that!
A lot of money has been spent on sitex security panels, they dont come cheap but are very effective.
Shame Steve didnt see the cave, what an interesting find. Was hoping you could climb the tower but hey ho such is life. Thanks Alex Ned and Ed xx

Thank you, another great video
Exploring within has decided to explore without this time then, well he's missed out on a good one. Well done lads 👍

Wow Great explore guys! Is there any history on this place like what and why are the tunnels there? Some of the brick work looks very dated
Loved that cave, it reminded me of a witches coven ❤
Looks like an 19th century grotto built by antiquarians
Ed scares me to death how he just charges off infront, oblivious to any danger
No , ed is the most experienced one there 😂 has been around you can tell
Bit of a scary one, I couldn't get on live chat unfortunately but that's issues my end, thanks for the adventure chaps, see you next time.

That hole in the ceiling of the cave reminds me of Confessions of Sister Charlotte, and torture chambers.
“Uh cossol! Luke theh, Issa cossol!” 😂😂
Great explore! It was like something out of fallout 🤘🏻
So disappointing i thought it would lead to a massive old mansion
Awesomely mysterious,
Ooo this one looks a bit good.
