  • "I just don't understand how people can eat so much!"
    If you have ever found yourself making this statement, I want to 100% agree with you: You really don't understand!
    If you have never had an overwhelming drive to consume food, then it might be really difficult to sympathize with people who have a very different appetite drive than you do.
    Alternatively, if you have always had a strong drive to eat, one that often takes you outside of some of the goals and intentions you have for yourself, you may not understand what it is like to not want to eat all the time.
    There are a lot of things that can drive our appetite - but one thing is for sure - there is not a fixed appetite drive in humans. There is a spectrum of food-related motivation and knowing where you lie on this continuum can help you better understand yourself.
    PLUS it can help you better understand how to work with your own physiology and psychology to make the food-related choices that are most in line with the life you want to lead.

    This is so interesting and timely for me. I just started Strattera for ADHD and it’s lowered my appetite and it’s been shocking to realize… maybe stopping eating is way easier for other people than it has been for me.

      I know that feeling! I’ve found it quite shocking when my appetite has lowered significantly for other reasons just how ‘easy’ the other side is!
