Hi Cornelius ! I have a very important request of you. I have just finished writing my creative screenplay for "DARK WONDERLAND - THE UNTOLD DONYALE LUNA STORY" It is a 10 part tel series that I want Zendaya to play. I would love for you to read (but not share it). It is confidential. We are going to try and get Donyale's daughter Dream's blessing to take it to HBO, Netflix, and Universal Pictures. Maybe Disney+. It is EPIC ! Can I email it to you ? I would love your thoughts.

Love love, love Steven Meisel ❤I feel that in industry there’s a lot of jealousy people accused him of copying he obviously has been highly inspired by other photographer but he always puts his own twist on things at the right time and in the fashion industry is all about timing and understanding in what direction things are going and that has always been what has kept him ahead of the game. His images are always going to capture our attention and make us want more ❤👏🏽👏🏻👏🏾👏👏🏿

Thank you Paul for this very INSPIRING INFORMATION!!! I am an Educator in Photography at the International Center of Photography in NEW YORK CITY, and I will instruct my students to not just watch this but study it! This is indeed what the Industry needs. It is very informative! GREAT JOB PAUL.

just stumbled by this channel and loved the content. I work as a fashion campaigns art director , based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a big part of my work is about researching the work of fashion photographers and getting in depth on their visual language. Meisel is a absolute inspiration, and I think is more interesting when a photographer and a brand develop a long time collaboration rather then something ephemeral, so you can understand and see the transformation in a full body of work.

People tends to degrade the new models comaring to the 90's supermodels, this is unfair to the new generation.
You're absolutely right, the big girls got the platform in those golden years of fashion. There are big campaigns, ads, magazine covers, photographers and big design houses who shaped and nutured those girls became known and famous. Who cares about who is the cover girl of Vogue nowadays?

Not sure if anything left of Steven except the word “Iconic”…like the description of his greatness has the past tense🤷🏼‍♂️but of course back in the day he was in some ways genius in terms of reinventing himself. But anyway there was always a feeling that he was cheating…so much shameless using of someone’s ideas and conceptions (Avedon’s in particular. Like A LOT)

We have to kind of agree. He rode the era of the Supermodels and celebrity image maker through the 90's. He never really had his own signature style. He was technically brilliant but not really original. He could copy anyone. He shunned interviews, never engaged with social media. He never really evolved. Where all the creative geniuses do. Like Picasso.

Interesting Insight. Stephen Meisel is a prolific genius standing on the shoulders of giants like Nan Goldin, but his imagery remains cold, almost cynical. His visions lack the empathy and truth to be called art in itself.

He isn't FIB's top 5. If truth be told. But he has a vast body of work. And is a great.
