I love that the more recent version finally gave us the proper Queen Amidala promised on the original Lego Episode I logo.

I think the minifigures in the latest 2012 version are pretty accurate. I could use a Boss Nass minifigure and and Captain Tarpals minifigure in the set though.

I have the 1999 one and the back part can also come off and attach it to the front escape pod part or swapped with one of the other two propulsion methods. I got it when I was a kid and I really liked the ‘complicated’ aspect of it. It was really fun. And also I love those 3 animals.

In the 2020s, they should make the underwater Gungan Village
The crate is filled with boomers the grenades used by gungans that's really lore friendly and a neat way to easily improve the set in my eyes

i remember getting the 2012 one when i turned 6. the only things i have frim it is the minifigures because my dumb child self lost the rest of the set. im gonna get the set again tho because i remember having a lot of fun with it

I have(had now, R.I.P. it’s in pieces and many of the gray pieces have yellowed 😭)the 2012 one. I have all the figures in tact expect for Padme, the only piece I’m missing is the dress piece😭😭😭

They could have done a better job with the curves on the newer version but the minifigs are better fo sho. I expect more from LEGO due to the high standards they keep. They could have adjusted the scale up or down slightly to design around the correct pieces to make the curves seamless. 👸 fig is 🤯...saves the set imo.
When I herd that queen amidala is worth $50 I got really exited because I have that gungan sub that’s crazy

I like the first set, very underated
When I play with this set Darth Maul kills Jar Jar instead of Qui-gon.
the newer version is better for printing and the queen yes, but I also like older one for fact they had hoods instead of hair piece as would loved hood piece as extra option for newer ones as well. also do like manta ray piece kinda from old one but if there same going rate id more rather go new as queen makes newer one seem more appealing.

Regarding the video - Great stuff, for someone who has a Bricklink store, and sells a lot of Star Wars, this is awesome.
I prefer the 1999 version. It has so much charm (just like all of the older LEGO Star Wars sets) and I love how you can break it up into different vehicles.
