Yep, I think nobody will argue about that. DLSS 3 is definitely better (at least based on what I've seen) and should be, given its time on the market. But hey, if someone like me doesn't want to cash out on 40 series card when they still have 20 or 30 series card, FSR 3 is our best alternative option. I also hope FSR 3 will catch up eventually, and will get an official support in more games.

Most likely the lack of VRAM on your gpu. If you lower the setting a little bit it could potentially fix the issue, that way you have a higher ceiling for VRAM.
so, after messing around with this stuff the whole day, I can say, its not really the Holy Gral, maybe I need to buy a 4000 Card. I got a 70-100% FPS increase, but there are alot graphic errors (as already reported) especially at rotating things like Engine fans, Tires and also on the edges of cockpit windows as long as the aircraft is on ground and in motion, as well as alot micro stutters etc. is there any fix for it? I tried several different Nvidia an in Sim Settings, but no success. I almost left all my graphic setting as it was before, (approx 75-80% ).
As mentioned in the video, remember that this is a very early mod. So it might also improve with every iteration. Obviously, the absolute best would be an official implementation of FSR3 into the game from developers. Then it should be all optimized. Let's see (and hope) if that happens.
No, community folder is something else and should be at C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community. Install directory shall be at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator
The key is to start at 30 fps minimum, better to start at 45 fps or so with FG. If your FPS is already dipping below 30, it won't be a great experience with or without FG

Based on comments of others, it sounds to me like you have a MS Store version of the game? MS unfortunately doesn't allow to modify files in these folders as far as I know.
Make sure vsync is turned off in the game settings. That should sort out the jittering. Also, I have only had crashes when using the Fenix a320, not sure if I need to update the Fenix or not. I'll try it later on tonight. Test it out using the discovery flights mode, probably best trying a New York City one.
Today I found information that mod from LukeFZ shall also support AMD cards. Unfortunately, to get this mod, you have to be Patreon member of his page. Have a look at www.patreon.com/LukeFZ
Not 4090 owner myself, but I would say not really. The card supports native DLSS3 which is superior in quality to FSR3 as of right now anyway and is officially implemented in MSFS, so I don't see a point to replace it with FSR3.
4090 owner here - no, why would it? You already have DLSS3 which is superior. I mean theoretically, maybe you could quadruple frames but that would make 3/4 frames generated, which is likely to make artifacts far worse. So no, won't really benefit any RTX 4000 owner
Same issue, RTX 2070, don’t get the menu option for FG appearing. Have turned on hardware acceleration etc. Have tried three times. Have DX12(Beta) selected in the game.
Some of you tried with vr ? In vr I have this config: quest 3 3080 ti 5600x Setting high some ultra Dlss quality : 60fps Taa :45fps Would love to see the differents
Let’s not even talk about the people burning out and damaging their graphics cards using this mod for a smooth experience right? Y’all should start putting disclaimers before telling people to use these mods.
Yes, but the benefits are way more than those specific problems, and is just a standard mod, maybe when become official that kinds of problems will be solved@@makacky9175
This specific mod no because it requires CUDA cores I assume (hence the requirement for RTX series). If FSR3 is added officially by developers, then it could work, although question is whether it is performant enough for FG for you to see a meaningful difference. AMD officially recommends RTX 20 and 30 cards.
@@ametsopnafets1740 not yet, I’ve been told it doesn’t work as well with DX12, but I’m running DX11 anyway so I should be ok, will see how it is after I get home from christmas
Good point! In internal FPS monitor, it didn't change. Can anyone confirm this is also the case for 40 series card? I've also tried FPS monitor in Xbox Gamebar and could see the increase there as well. My assumption would be that the internal counter counts really only the frames that are fully generated by the game itself, not the additional ones added by FSR or DLSS.
The question is: Do you get more smoothness? I am afraid not. More fps is just a reading with practically no impact if we even consider RTX 40 Series.. sorry. RTX 4090 60FPS is much smoother than 100+ fps shown here.
That is not correct. When FSR3 is enabled you don’t get the stuttering, you don’t get the massive frame drops when flying near a major city etc, and you can actually feel the smoothness on the game vs having it not on. The key to it is not going over the VRAM ceiling.
Actually, I do feel more smoothness indeed! To be fair, the video doesn't do it justice as it is exported and uploaded to TH-cam at 30 FPS at the end. That is definitely something I should look into for my future videos.
RX 7900 XT(X) sells way more cards than Nvidia cards. RX 7900 XTX is faster than RTX 4090 in a few games for less than half the price!! So many schoolboys with zero knowledge or experience claim that Nvidia is better. Nvidia has paid for so many fake reviews that are lies. Don't forget AMD sells all the GPS and CPU in every PlayStation and Xbox and AI Servers so AMD sells more GPU than Nvidia.
It’s somehow good if you’re casual pilot, flying over the NY’s skyscrapers with a third-person view. But when you’re inside cockpit let’s say Felix or PMDG, this fake FPS is a piece of shit, as you will see stutters and other artefacts because simulation FPS CPU limited. BTW, I’m a 4080 card owner and I know what I say.
Does the 4000 series not have frame Gen built in already? If it does (and I’m not sure) you wouldn’t need this mod and it may actually cause these issues?
@@ItsMe-nk7mx I’m talking about 4th RTX series DLSS 3.0 frame generation. It’s a fake shit, cause sim rate is the main. You’ll see stutters and micro freezes all the time with the frame generator.
I must unfortunately agree, after the editing, exporting and uploading to TH-cam at 30 fps, it doesn't look nearly as good as the pure recorded footage. Definitely something I have to improve for my future videos.
You are NOT getting 100 fps the true fps is shown in developer mode in MSFS what you are getting are fake frames inserted and end up with bad graphics on inside cockpit views, many channels have covered this con, you can't enable something that does not exist on lower RTX cards, RTX 4000 series cards have tensor cores required for DSSL 3.0.
You are both correct and incorrect. Yes, these are fake frames, but that's the whole point of frame generation. Internal FPS counter only shows frames rendered by the game, not the ones inserted by frame generation. Would 100 true FPS be better? Of course, but not everyone wants to spent the money for latest and most powerful GPUs. And no, tensor cores don't exist only on RTX 4000 series card. Additionally, this mod uses FSR3, not DLSS 3! It only uses the already implemented DLSS in-game pipeline for frame generation. And officially by AMD, FSR 3 can be used just fine on 20 and 30 series cards.
Why would it kill your GPU?? According to AMD, FSR3 shall run on RTX 20, or 30 series cards without any problem. This mod doesn't use DLSS 3 that is used on RTX 40 series cards, only adds FSR3 to games that don't have the official implementation of it yet.

From experience, the V-sync shall be OFF in the nVidia Control Panel. Not sure about freesync, but I would assume the same.
2060Super here, unlocks the settings, but the benefits are not obvious: it decreased FPS from 40s to 30s!?!? It also crashes the sim on the long flights, probably the vram thing?
Sooo.. I'm back at the variable LOD mod, getting stable low 40s with almost everything maxed.
Most likely the lack of VRAM on your gpu. If you lower the setting a little bit it could potentially fix the issue, that way you have a higher ceiling for VRAM.
What is the LOD mod you use and where can i find it?
Doesn't work on MS store/x-box version using PC. Option is there but is grayed out
Possibly found a solution today, check my pinned comment.
For some reason I don't notice a different
so, after messing around with this stuff the whole day, I can say, its not really the Holy Gral, maybe I need to buy a 4000 Card.
I almost left all my graphic setting as it was before, (approx 75-80% ).
let me now if you find one
As mentioned in the video, remember that this is a very early mod. So it might also improve with every iteration. Obviously, the absolute best would be an official implementation of FSR3 into the game from developers. Then it should be all optimized. Let's see (and hope) if that happens.
Fantastic, thank you so mutch
Is the installation directory the same thing as the community folder?
No, community folder is something else and should be at C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community. Install directory shall be at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator
How's your input latency? cause mine's shit, difficult to manual fly especialy landing with FG enabled.
The key is to start at 30 fps minimum, better to start at 45 fps or so with FG. If your FPS is already dipping below 30, it won't be a great experience with or without FG
does this also works with amd cards?
Is that the holy grail of FPS boost. Wow i must test it👍
Its Amazing ,thank you so much. Is it normal to get the warning message while loading the sim?
Not working well for me ;( Running on 3 screens QHD with 3070Ti / 5900X / 32GB / SSD NVME. I've put the right files in the folder, get the Frame Generator ON but FPS get little better but lot of glitches ! VSYNC is off so ... cannot understand. I've made a try on CP2077 it works like a charm ! Cannot understand the problem with MSFS
I've read somewhere it might not work when the game is running on multiple screens? Maybe try just with one enabled.
Hi @@ThrustOperator, thanks ! I've tested on one screen but it's pretty the same ... so I will not using it, I will probably choose a RTX 40xx when Nvidia decite to sell them at a decent price
I have enabled everything required and followed all the steps and no pop up nor the ability to enable frame generation. Am I doing something wrong?
turn on dx12
@@sboddy4585 done that.
In my case ive followed step by step but i get less FPS than before with fsr frame mod activated. i dont know whats going on
What card do you have? Less performant cards can indeed struggle. Maybe try to change the DLSS to different setting like Performance or even Ultra Performance to see if that helps.
Which version of NVIDIA drivers do you have?
When I see it now, quite old 😀 536.99
Hello and welcome. I have a problem. I followed everything step by step according to the instructions and unfortunately this option does not appear in the game. My card is rtx 3090 ti. Help please :)
Same issue (RTX 2070). Have you turned the hardware acceleration on as mentioned in the video then restarted your PC?
@@ItsMe-nk7mx For this to work, right-click on DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks and Shift Merge... this will add what is needed to the registry and this option will appear in ingame
I have the same problem with my 3090. "NVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATION" does not appear in PC Graphics options. I'm also on the lookout for a reason, as I've tripled checked every step (and rebooted 3 times as well). FPS is being displayed by Nvidia's GeForce Experience overlay, but that shouldn't matter.
did you turn dx12? dx11 doesnt support frame gen
Does it mess up displays like dlss?
I once found some good tips for getting sharp picture with DLSS. in UserCfg file change PrimaryScaling to 0.500000 and SecondaryScaling to 2.000000.
Then in PostProcess change Sharpen to 1.
I've bought my MSFS in Microsoft Store. What path should I paste the dll's files?
Its under program files /windows apps/ but microsoft wont let me add anything to the folders even with permission. says i need another 13kb
@@erichill1408 same issue I'm facing here. I'm not able to paste the files there.
Check my pinned comment, that could help.
This ABSOLUTELY works. ADVICE- Be patient and follow the instructions to the letter! Was was getting 30 FPS at Atlanta and am now getting 110FPS!!! THANK YOU ThrustOperator!
I'm really happy to hear that it worked so well for you!
I dont know why but it changed nothing, i9 11900k, RTX 3090TI, 32gb Ram and i have 40-45 FPS in the Fenix a320, anyone a idea ? Settings: High, all Planes,Vehicles, boats and Ships is set 0
Hi I have a 1 TB m.2 drive,D games install and it says I have 506 GB left. When I try to copy and past the dll. files it says error you need an additional 13.0 MB to copy these files.I dont know what to do....Thank you for the response and help.
Based on comments of others, it sounds to me like you have a MS Store version of the game? MS unfortunately doesn't allow to modify files in these folders as far as I know.
yes I do .ok thank you very much

Didn't work at all for VR for me
I don’t think it’s meant for VR and might make it nauseating to use.
RTX3080 here, it double my frames. this is insane
Hello, Ive done it and my game either crashes when loading up, loads up then crashes, its really jittery and yh... any fixes?
Make sure vsync is turned off in the game settings. That should sort out the jittering. Also, I have only had crashes when using the Fenix a320, not sure if I need to update the Fenix or not. I'll try it later on tonight. Test it out using the discovery flights mode, probably best trying a New York City one.
yh vsync is off. today ive tryed on the fbw and it still crashes and this is the 3rd time im reinstalling@@ix-DaRc
Mine also crashes with Fenix but works well with all other aircraft
is there something similar for the amd rx6800s?
Today I found information that mod from LukeFZ shall also support AMD cards. Unfortunately, to get this mod, you have to be Patreon member of his page. Have a look at www.patreon.com/LukeFZ
Does this mod benefit 4090 users? Or no? If so, how much?
Not 4090 owner myself, but I would say not really. The card supports native DLSS3 which is superior in quality to FSR3 as of right now anyway and is officially implemented in MSFS, so I don't see a point to replace it with FSR3.
@ThrustOperator I appreciate your response, thanks a mil!
4090 owner here - no, why would it? You already have DLSS3 which is superior. I mean theoretically, maybe you could quadruple frames but that would make 3/4 frames generated, which is likely to make artifacts far worse.
So no, won't really benefit any RTX 4000 owner
I doesn‘t work for me but why? It doesn‘t show up NVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATON🤷♂️ an i did everthing what you have said
Do you have DX12 selected in options? Frame generation doesn't work in DX11.
Same issue, RTX 2070, don’t get the menu option for FG appearing. Have turned on hardware acceleration etc. Have tried three times. Have DX12(Beta) selected in the game.
@@ItsMe-nk7mxit worked for me at the end but it is defenetly not worth it! The flickering is way to much when you flying.
@@ItsMe-nk7mx try start the flight, and then go to options.
Some of you tried with vr ?
In vr I have this config:
quest 3
3080 ti
5600x
Setting high some ultra
Dlss quality : 60fps
Taa :45fps
Would love to see the differents
Doesn't work in vr, makes things worse. Tried it for about 30 seconds until I saw my fps was cut in half, uninstalled.
@offgrid1461 thanks for your answer
In VR you already have ASW, which is very similar
I dropped fps going from 62 to 57 ? anyone know why 3080ti card
does it work for VR and does it make sense?
No it does not
not working for me, 2070 super. is 8gb vram no deal ?
I tried and recorded it with also 8 GB VRAM. What step of the process doesn't work exactly for you?
Let’s not even talk about the people burning out and damaging their graphics cards using this mod for a smooth experience right? Y’all should start putting disclaimers before telling people to use these mods.
Do you have sources of these claims?
God bless Nvidia! What about GPU usage/temperature? what's the normal values using this? The same as in a 40?
It works for me in Rachet & Clank and The withcer, double fps!!! amazing!!!
Hello @alejadromontoyavel - don;t you have any hud/text issues when camera switching possition in Ratchet?
Yes, but the benefits are way more than those specific problems, and is just a standard mod, maybe when become official that kinds of problems will be solved@@makacky9175
Sadly not working on my RTX 2070Super!
Working SWELL on mine.
@@citylimitsphotoyou’re running a 2070S? Does it improve FPS a lot?
@@citylimitsphotoand do you use DX12?
@@ametsopnafets1740 yes
About 40 percent.
Does anyone know the directory to put these files if its the xbox store version on pc
Yes.
C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content (if you left the default installation path for the game)
will it work with a RTX 1650
1650 is not RTX but GTX, so no.
This specific mod no because it requires CUDA cores I assume (hence the requirement for RTX series). If FSR3 is added officially by developers, then it could work, although question is whether it is performant enough for FG for you to see a meaningful difference. AMD officially recommends RTX 20 and 30 cards.
wow it does double my fps
but it looks like drunk when i try to look around
my gpu is 3080ti
I am using MSFS on an RTX2070super. this sounds interesting...
It will help greatly.
I have an RTX2070 as well, did you try it out already?
@@ametsopnafets1740 not yet, I’ve been told it doesn’t work as well with DX12, but I’m running DX11 anyway so I should be ok, will see how it is after I get home from christmas
How do you have barely any artifacts in your footage? In my gameplay, the plane and ui go absolutely crazy. Far worse than what your footage has.
No idea honestly. Some people in comments also mentioned many artifacts, but for me, it's just the HUDs in 3rd person view 🤷
Now try using the built in fps monitor to see your real frame rates.
@@ThrustOperator I believe the ingame counter does show FPS increase from DLSS3, likely because its a native implementation
Good to know, thanks!
For RX 5700 XT?
Not yet, at least this specific mod.
How to get fsr3 on amd cards?
For that, we have to wait either for official implementation into the game or another mod that will support non-RTX cards.
i lost a lot of fps using this mod luckily it is easy to turn off or remove
Anyone if this helps in VR?
Funny watching all the nvidia users rushing to install AMD software.
You’ll see stutters and micro freezes all the time with the frame generator.
lol it dont look like 100 fps in your video. look like a scam
40 series have tensor cores to make FAKE frames as well 😂
@@andrearaujo79correct it just adds in frames, it is not a true frame rate.
1 month later: RTX 3 series card sales skyrocket again :D Seriously, if you want GPU dead do this
Why would it kill the gpu?
only heat kills GPUs, not unexpected code.
@@DOGOID that what this mod does - cranks GPU with 99% utilization, which raises temps a lot. Tested on my 3090
One person I know said this did not increase GPU temps but it might depend on the card.
@@ItsMe-nk7mx my RTX 3090 goes for 75-80 temp. Not worth it. Because without this mod it’s 55-60. It only adds 10 fps increase from 50 to 60 fps
If you do this you will kill your GPU cause it's not made for it just get a 40 series please
Why would it kill your GPU?? According to AMD, FSR3 shall run on RTX 20, or 30 series cards without any problem. This mod doesn't use DLSS 3 that is used on RTX 40 series cards, only adds FSR3 to games that don't have the official implementation of it yet.
LOL
I have rtx4060 and did everything like you but still doesn't have enabled option on off 😢
But your card should support DLSS 3, then no need to use this mod. Or native DLSS 3 also doesn't work?

I'm desperate 😪
Do you have DirectX 12 enabled and V-sync OFF?
