It's because they're not thinking in the right way to mess things up! You need to think of traits which would not mesh well with most others like a specific environment that requires specialised traits to survive in, an ability or power which is very heavily formed around or geared towards a specific type, or a very defining body shape that makes certain attributes very hard to include.
Right lol it always gets me when the creator will say it with their whole chest 😂 just to fit in with the prompt perfectly Then another will just go “how about wings?” and mix up the whole thing 🤣
I love that everyone thought it was going to be a different animal, and upon seeing it they all thought they were right because it's such a nonspecific shape
If it's a two stage anyway, I think I would have named the baby Psychick and the adult Psykatrice, just to make it clearer that the name refers to the parent and that it's inspired by the cockatrice.
Psychick also makes more sense for the pre-vo name because as Ron said, the name was partially derived from the word "sidekick" and the younger one is actually the one playing the sidekick role anyway.
Lockstin being in this was so cool. He was like 7 steps ahead, understanding the design and stuff. It was super impressive. Also, he came up with some fantastic ideas, which is super refreshing.

Wonder if you could combine this concept with the “4 artists” series. Like Jack, Vergo and Moxie provide attributes for Ron, Ron, Vergo and Moxie for Jack etc. Think we’d get some wild ideas.
In Spanish we have the term "coming out of the sewer" It refers to when, in a group of people or a discussion, everybody seem to connect or be in some type of general popular agreement, just for someone to say something completely out of place, weird or ridiculous that makes the whole situation kind of uncomfortable. Liam quite literally just came out the sewers at the end of each round here 😅
To answer the question you had in the video, “emotionally intelligent” means you’re really good at understanding how others feel and reading people’s emotions.
Not only could I see Psychick's prevo being a common encounter in a sewer area (maybe 48%?), but Psychick itself being like a 1% or 2% encounter rate compared to the prevo makes total sense, given the dex entry!
Love the idea another commenter said about it being a volcarona style, static encounter, you go through the sewer area fighting the pre-evo and when you finally get through the maze you find the main psychick that's been sending his babies out to fight you
It may even be a case where momma psychick herself doesn’t necessarily interact with the sewers much but rather uses them as hunting grounds for the poison/water fish pokémon which her chicks can easily take out. possibly stakes out near the shallow ends of the sewer to feed on the game once it drifts by. scavenging birds in tunnels aren’t rare if you live in cities lmao.
The city of Basel (switzerland) has a mythic monster called the "basilisk", which is based of a Cocktrice; which is said to live in the sewers. So the idea absolutely works for me!!!
Harry Potter's basilisk also technically lives in the sewers. And if I'm not mistaken, in spanish Basilisk and Cockatrice are basically the same, in the sense that basilisks are often portrayed as part chicken
@@Nehu_22 Even in Harry Potter, a basilisk is born when a chicken egg hatches underneath a toad, and the cry of roosters is deadly to it. So mythological basilisks seem to be related to chickens in all media--except in Greek mythology, where they originally come from 🤣
Basilisk comes from the Ancient Greek βασιλίσκος (basiliskos) meaning “prince” but also referring to a type of serpent, as well as a wren (the bird), it has nothing to do with Basel, Switzerland in origin or etymology
@@hayothegunosaurus i am from the city of basel, switzerland. the Basilisk (cockatrice) is a cultural symbol of the city, found very prominently on wells and fountains, due to the myth of it living in the sewers of basel. I know the term originally referred to a serpent and the means "king", but this is how basel interpreted that myth. so dont tell me, a basler, "it has nothing to do with basel"
Can we talk about how Spouspark kind of looks like a whale fall? Because that’s GENIUS. It lures all sorts of prey to itself and then can shock them and eat them.
Honestly, a lightning bird in the sewers is so cool. You could spin it as like a mirror to pidgeos that started livinng in cities. It lives underground because there it can suck electricity from faulty lines and as it is a grounded bird, that shoots lasers, narrow passages are super advantagous for it! And speed often is the rate at which a Pokemon attacks and not always it's physical speed, so it may just be slow because charging and shooting its lasers is slow.
Another explanation I can offer is that the Speed stat could reflect its reflexes and "turn sequence initiative". It is low because it is constantly dedicating its mind to its Parental Bond Ability, hence, its mind is pre-occupied and cannot react as fast as usual.
It would make even more sense if the pre evolution was actually fray in defenses but had a lot of speed since it is the scout drone, if the little chick discovers where the enemy is the rooster could just snipe it with its cannon showing how it problably woldn't move much.
Idea: It lives in the sewers because that is where it hunts. Psychic/Electric makes it ideal for dealing with water and poison types that would likely flock to sewers.
I like how Lockstin was the only one that went, "I'm going to come up it cool ideas, and awesome reasons why I picked those ideas", and everyone else was like "Hey lets fuck with Ron".
I'd love to imagine for Psychick there's a middle stage which is a bit of a teenager which goes off on it's own and fends for itself, only to mature and realise that it needs to protect it's family and return home and become a Psychick
These are some of my favorite videos on TH-cam - always a delight to see what people think is going to happen with what is given and then the awesome designs that you put together. I'd love to see you combine this with a "designing from the same prompt" video so that all nine poketubers pick an attribute, like this video, but then everyone designs their own version from the randomly generated list.
Thsi is legitimately my favourite of your series. As a new artist, I do want to give fake-mon a go at some point, so seeing how you can make awesome designs from otherwise maddening premises is not only cool to see as a viewer, but very inspiring for an artist.
The first set of suggestions ending in a dark sewer environment, and the second set of suggestions ending with the pokemon needing to be a fire/electric type even though it also needed to be found in the deep sea, made these sound very challenging to make! You created some really awesome pokemon from them. Really enjoyed hearing your thought process on how to piece all of these different elements together 😄

I feel like for the baby form/first stage of Psychick would be really fast, but have less attack power since it's meant to be a drone or scout, which are not really combat focused. I would probably call it Scoutling, from scout and hatchling, and give it the ability Stakeout or Analytic. Really good job nonetheless, Ron.
Now we've had Bird Keeper Toby, LumioseTrainerZac, TheAuraGuardian, PM7, T-Tar, Lockstin, Munching Orange and Ace Trainer Liam. Now we just need MandJTV to appear on one of these and all my favorite Poketubers will have been here :D
I love this series so much. It’s such an interesting concept and I get to see my favorite poketubers and learn about new ones. Your designs are so cool! I wish I could be that creative with making up Pokémon design concepts.
I love how Ron gave Bloody the colours for the first fakemon just so he had a solid idea on what 3/4 of the colours would be. But anyways another great entry in the series. It's always so interesting how you can find some way to work in the more...hard to work with elements a Poketuber might give you.
If it had a prevolution, I could see Spouspark basically combining Vespiquen's and Mantine's evolution gimmicks. You would need a male and female in your party, and then once the female prevo hit the evolution level, it would evolve by absorbing/combining with the male.
In regards to Spouspark's stats, JWittz: "Not gonna have the highest BST and that's okay. Not everything has to be OP." THANK YOU!! A big pet peeve of mine when it comes to Fakemon is that everyone seems to feel the need to make them all overly powerful when it's not necessary at all. Case in point, Spouspark is the ONLY one in the series (as of writing this, we have four videos so far) whose BST is under 500! Heck, Ampherrum in the next video is a crazy 560! That's higher than any starter final evolution! Almost Paradox Pokemon levels! Why??
for the first one’s description I could see a swan, busted and broken but with its chicks riding in its back like a love boat ride. not technically based on how actual birds work! because birds arent really in the dark this one makes sense because love boat rides are usually in the dark with a romantic aura! I could also see the personality working well psychic could certainly work for the love motif but I’m not sure how electric its in for my idea
I mean, loveboats are usually powered with electricity on a track..so it's set up to be electric It matches the other descriptions via having a charming yet zappy personality, I can imagine it using it's psychic powers to make others fall in love (like a cupid sort of, as that's what a tunnel of love is for!) matching that "charming" personality type it was supposed to be given along with emotional intelligence; but if anyone messes with it's work it gets violent. Why it's in the sewers? Perhaps it's old home was taken over and they were driven out to the sewers..like old abandoned love boats.
YESSSS you literally filled in the missing peices this is wonderful!!! it doesn’t have a track anymore which explains the slow speed for an electric type. it could be a sort of invasive species too, which could tie in to real world swans in europe!
For the first one I was thinking the baby roams around and when it gets low on health, it will summon the Mother. The baby can only learn physic moves and Mother can only learn electric. The Mother also follows around underground, bringing in the sewers portion
I can see Psychick not necessarily being in the sewers relating to water and waste systems, but more so because of an underground power grid that's incorporated into the whole city underbelly infrastructure
Like, with the psychic/electric typing and baby drones, it's literally an embodiment of some sort of information network maybe like optical fiber (though not as fast of course lmao)
Psychick being a Rooster with that personality of confident but dumb, is honestly very accurate. I also love that the chicken bird has parental bond, because chicks imprint so strongly to their mothers (usally not the roosters as much, but this is Pokemon and changing up stuff is their MO). Kudos to creating a pretty epic rooster Mon, wee need more chicken pokemon! Also the spy babies would make for an interesting game mechanic- if you are in a sewer and they spot you, you run the risk of triggering a stronger pokemon and encountering a challenging battle. You might end up having to start the maze over.
Honestly the first thing I thought when he said sewer in a major city with the color palette they have was a fashion-based city and it gets its colors from the dye runoff
Hey Ron, this is a great video a really love the idea of fakemons and the ones you design are amazing but I am interested to know what application do you use to design the Pokémon.❤
This is awesome! I'd like to see something like a group discussion at the end. See some ideas come off each other, maybe we get to see some knowledge passed around, etc. That would be a nightmare to arrange everyone in a single call tho... 😅
I wonder if you could do another one of these videos but actually mix and match between the poketubers have like returning ones come back in different groups and see what they can cook up together design-wise in a more wild Way
My ideas for both were an oilbird/jacana for the first one, it carries its young in the fluff of its tail and in doing so generates static, and it uses echolocation both to navigate and mind control the young. The second one is a group of blobfish with two forms, one in the water and one out. While in water, their bodies are held in shape by the deep water pressure, but when out of water, they fuse together and become violent
You know, you should try doing this but have a select few of your fans all come up with a Pokémon together. (I would sign up to be on in a heartbeat. )
To be fair, clouds are formed using dust. Water vapor forms clouds by attaching to dust particles in the atmosphere; a magical dirt pokemon could reasonably conjure clouds, but not super well. This creates the conflict, since their power is really imprecise
I would love for a poketuber fakemon rom game with various creations and story ideas from the community, it would be a lot but i also think it could be amazing.
It could be a piece of machinery! No, it's a bird... A robot bird! But it has a child....A robot bird with an extension! That was so funny and witty! 😂
The attributes for the first fakemon is as if a tower were being built up carefully piece by piece only for the final attribute to just be a wrecking ball that knocks the entire tower down. Yet Ron pulled through with an excellent design as usual.
I love how even the people purposefully trying to mess up Ron mess him up less than Liam just doing his thing lmao

While in water, their bodies are held in shape by the deep water pressure, but when out of water, they fuse together and become violent
You know, you should try doing this but have a select few of your fans all come up with a Pokémon together. (I would sign up to be on in a heartbeat. )
still waiting for they day mikey comes
crying at how liam completely fucked it both times lmao
I really like how you did the Pokémon and I really want a part 4 video👏👏👍👍
When it said “Sychick” I automatically directed it to “side chick” 💀
Ok I'm using this channel as inspiration for my own fakemon I am planning on making
Liam trying to justify his typing decision as he sees the other attributes😂 so funny
Spouspark is my favorite of the two, but both are well done. Great video!
It could be a piece of machinery! No, it's a bird... A robot bird! But it has a child....A robot bird with an extension!
That was so funny and witty! 😂
"what am I going to look at? 9 orthworms!?!?!?!" 😂😂😂 I don't know why that's funny to me
20:40 those colors give me flashbacks to the dress
Keep up this awesome work
5:54 I immediately thought "give it a third eye!" because that gives it both psychic undertones and also a mutation of sorts for the sewer environment
So the second Pokémon is literally the "Honey time for our session, Yes honey" meme as a Pokémon
The attributes for the first fakemon is as if a tower were being built up carefully piece by piece only for the final attribute to just be a wrecking ball that knocks the entire tower down. Yet Ron pulled through with an excellent design as usual.
Bloody: choses trans colors
TrueGreen: She got me, or did she *Vsauce music starts
LMAO
