That's actually really cute. It generally wants to help others but would fail, which ultimately leads into benefiting others. Thus fakes it being deliberate via Road to El Dorado shenanigans. It fits the Fairy type to fool and mislead while being still a spirit of fertility as a Ground type, the epitome of 'faking it until you make it'.

I had an odd thought about these two Pokemon Ampherrum Ice/steel type Deustorm has weaknesses including ice and steel also, Deustorm is a ground type, and Ampherrum has Earth Eater making ground-type moves heal instead of hurt; and fairy moves are resisted by steel types Deustorm literally has nothing it can do against Ampherrum. It was like Ampherrum was made to destroy Deustorm it even has the type for stab supereffective to get around Wonder Guard
i love how you guys accidentally made the perfect anti-rayquaza with deustorm, it randomly changes the weather while rayquaza controls it and it literally has the exact opposite typing of rayquaza all while living in the area right above where rayquaza resides almost like its trying so hard to be it but always being in its shadow, an actual false god

To be fair, Hoopsand wanted a "Godzilla-like" Pokemon like Tyranitar, Aggron, etc. Mothra would've technically worked, but it contradicted the body shape that Hoopsand described. I think it would've been better to use "Godzilla-like" instead of "Kaiju" in the Body box.
I always thought it would be funny if someone said "the pokemon lives in the upper atmosphere" and it was ground type. I like how coherent Deustorm ended up being.
I feel like Deustorm should get the BW Volcarona treatment in that there's one of 'em floating around atop a tiny village or something that you have to fly around to encounter and then there's just no more in the game other than maybe an egg hidden somewhere equally obscure. It'd make it feel as special as it looks!
Ampherrum is actually a nice support for competitive play if you think about it, it's fast enough to set up weather or entry hazards, defensive enough to stay on the field to lend support, a nice double team match up would be with a cetitan cuz of slush rush. It's a very nice pokemon and would actually be kind of viable for capacitive, maybe not big leagues but still good
@Spixxxx and that's why you'd most likely have it have either priority moves, set up, trick room or have it double team with your own Chein-Pao after all helping hand is a wondrous move along with Allie swap, heck you could probably do some ability swapping can do some game breaking stuff

Would be interesting if you could not find the second guy in normal encounter at first, he gets the legendary treatement (legends, myths and a special encounter) but once you have one of him, you can start encountering more sometimes when flying from place to place or after the first encounter you get access to a cloud or sky route and he's just a rare encounter there.

Yes, but HoopsandHipHop had the shape of Godzilla in mind. While it's obvious that he doesn't know what a Kaiju really is, his intention was clear. Also don't forget that he wasn't in charge of choosing the size. The fact that he used Nidoking, a deceptively short Pokémon, as an example of what he wanted shows that it's the shape that matters.
Ampherrum even demonstrates Bergmanns rule, creatures that migrate to colder climats tend to evolve to become larger. Compared to frogs like Politoed and many other frog pokemon, Ampherrum is pretty huge
Deustorm feels like it’d have a fun movie like Zoruark did One where we see it’s true form under the sand veil and maybe it learns to actually control its powers!
Deustorm could have a signature move that summons a random weather condition that aids it even if it doesn't meet the conditions required(Example:He gets a 50% boost on its moves under harsh sun even if they aren't fire type moves)
Honestly, when you get enough of these, I would love to see an episode where you go back and try to tweak these to feel a little more cohesive in your style without abandoning the core concepts that made them special.
It could have a similar abilitu to Mimikyu. The external shape shutters and changes form. About the inside creature I was thinking about something resembling a crystal since it would too be in line with Rock type :)
Imagine, to catch deustorm you see him and study him and you find out what really happens as a side quest. Then you can tell everyone about him and you can catch him.

There needs to be an info randomizer so we can try this at home pft I'm sure there is one somewhere or you could just look up a few random generators for each section, but it'd be fun to try myself

Yoooww~ i just noticed Deustorm as Reshiram's head so cool! I thik it could definitely, like, appear on a movie where it is basically Maui from Muanna. It acts all cocky, sage and powerful when it in fact is just a charlatean. I can even image a scene where the main troup or just their pokemon are trapped together with Deustorm, they ask in to think of some way to ask and it like stay floating on the air pretending it's thinking hard and then it drops:"I don't know" And everyone just goes:"NANIIIIIII?!" So funny lol. I would definitely catch it though, it's pretty neat. Ampherrum's lack of offensive power is easily handled, just give it Body Press and Heavy Slam and call it a day! Also give it something to counter Fire and Fighting-types, preference Tera Fighting-type with Rock slide or Accelerock to handle Fire and Flying-type pokemon. And there you have it, i fixed Amoherrum's low attackinf stats problem! ((Additionaly: Give it Heavy-Duty Boots or Weakness Police, and give it either Amnesia, Iron Defense or a Stealth Rocks of it's own for the last move.)) Aditional abilities for the two 'mons of the video; Ampherrum: Stamina/Quick Feet/Snow Warning (Maybe even Filter considering it's dex entry about "cosuming rare metals gives it energy" a.k.a. filtering metals, and the fact it has two double weakness. Snow warning is also because of the dex entry motify) Deustorm: Cloud Nine, Sand Stream, Drizzle, Moody, Levitate, etc. ((It's self-explanatory. Boi, it would fit with so many different abilities, what a bulky dude!)) Also, if your thinking about using it on your next region you would HAVE to change Deustorm ability because it's too broken, also could you please make a evolution for Sunna/Ansonian-Munna?
I would have loved to see an explanation in the lore for its wonderguard something like this: “in fact it is so slow witted that its brain fails to register all but the most piercing pain, making it inadvertently immune to almost all damage.” I just love the idea that it has the most broken ability in the game just because it’s an idiot 😂
I'd love to see what Deustorm "actually" looks like. Imagine if without the facade, the current pupil were the whole eye & the entire snout was fake 😂💙
This is one of my favorite concepts on TH-cam right now. However I will say that the ‘height’ category is a little underwhelming. Maybe at least have it be height + weight?
Oh that would be pretty dang cool and it would be perfect for its lore. Maybe not every turn it's in battle because I think that would be a little much, but every time it's sent into battle I could see it summoning a random weather. Kinda like Moody or Acupressure where it's a random effect that the player can't control and it's luck of the draw.
Ampherrum might be one of my favorite designs you made. Look super realistic, the concepts really works (!) and it's just a silly looking guy. Gives off the same energy as Bolin from Legend of Korra. I bet Ampherrum and Politoed would be great friends on my team ❤

I like to think of alternate abilities for the pokemon based on the other attributes/dex entry. I'd say ampherrum's natural abilities would be earth eater and vital spirit, with the hidden ability snow warning Andddd.... there's no point giving any other ability when the primary is wonder guard
1 - I find it hilarious that everyone was so focused on the Earth Eater ability and couldn't stop making jokes xD 2 - my brain immediately went "MY TIA PEPPA, HER 'MOOD AFFECTS THE WEATHER!'" 3 - Deustorm is an honorary member of TEAM SKY *eagle noises*
I feel like the Frog's hidden ability should be Slush Rush, and for the second one, since it's an earthen shell, maybe not Wonder Guard, but a new ability Sand Shell that once it gets hit by a super effective hit, the shell falls away and has a secondary form.
I just went and watched the first 2 videos in this series. I recall you also did videos where you challenged other artists to create Pokemon based on random attributes. I thought you might be interested in bringing in Christian from Popcross Studios for one of your collab videos. He's actually done quite a few videos where he takes Pokemon and turns them into other things. Also, the regions all had some missed opportunities; most recently, with Paldea, the Ramidreju from Spanish mythology didn't get any representation.
This series and your 4 artists one description series are my absolute favorites on your channel! You always make such cool pokemon and your art style has grown so much! Keep up the good work, Ron!!!!!
I love these series of videos with collabs because i adore seeing "Worlds collide". Idk is kind of like when i was a kid and i saw that one episode with multiple Power Rangers from different gens team up. Epic crossover. And i love that u basically have brought every poketuber under the sun for these, most i dont know but i like i get to meet them

And Ron freakin' does it again!! Of the four videos in the series thus far, if you were to ask me which pair of Fakemon I could legitimately see in a Pokemon game, it's hands down these two here. The concepts and lore behind them are just so expertly done. This is your best work in the "10 Poketubers design" series which is really saying something because the other three videos are fantastic as well. I never wanna see this series end!
I'm telling you! I need to make a Pokémon channel just to get in on this! It looks like so much fun to participate in! Also, props to making a Fairy/Ground type. I've been excited for that combination forever now and loved watching you create the concept!
Slight switch up... for Fakemon 2, I think it may benefit from having a custom ability of sorts. Something of a weaker Wonder Guard where it loses Wonder Guard after being damaged at least once (and maybe it comes with a change in form, too, such as the sand armor being lost and revealing it's true form). That way, it may look broken at a glance (matching the personality), but once you get past the one obstacle of the typing, the facade drops and all is revealed. I know, that's not the point of this exercise, but it's nice to think about nonetheless.

Of COURSE John/PM7 chose the body of a FROG with the excuse “I like FROGS!”! XD Also, Frogs can hibernate under snow, but that still doesn’t answer if they can survive the snow or not. But if they can hibernate under snow just fine, then they can survive in snow apparently.

Okay, the only way I can think to debuff this mon is to give it only weather ball, maybe secret power, maybe also a signature move that changes the weather based on its health, nature, or IVs.
I do agree that if deustorm was a real pokemon the only thing you need to change is wonder guard to truant. Its not a truant because it's lazy, but because it's stupid and keeps getting distracted. Either that or a new ability that applies a random weather effect apon being sent out.
Another great video in the series. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the collaborative part of this is absolutely brilliant, everyone comes up with great ideas and it's awesome to see how they all mesh together into something. Lots of great guests on here as well, definitely a series that needs to continue. Can't wait to see what the next video in the series has in store.
21:21 "wonder guard's not too broken on it" He says about a pokemon with the speed of iron bundle, and 4 weaknesses all being somewhat rare(ice types are rare coverage is not too rare. Grass is rare overall. Water tends to be on defensive mons. Steel type is a coinflip for offense vs defense) and average overall bulk. This pokemon would likely to be banned stright to anything goes if dusk mane necrozma and zacian crowned weren't so common but even then it is arguably too broken if you consider tera. Btw I play gen 9 ubers often and this thing sounds more oppressive that calyrex shadow rider.
Small correction, the rainbow serpent is not a god in aboriginal culture, but more of a great creature. Think closer to a hydra or Cerberus in terms of its mythological placing, instead of putting it in the position of godhood. Very cool to see indigenous Australian inspiration in the design though!
I want Deustorm to exist!! But also without Wonder Guard as that would be too game breaking. I think Mimikyu's ability of Disguise could be applied well with this concept! Awesome video as always :)

Funny thing is that the mon is about as broken as mega rayquaza due to having wonder guard and only 4 weaknesses.
The fact that rayquaza physically can't hit it with most of its movepool makes it even funnier

It acts all cocky, sage and powerful when it in fact is just a charlatean. I can even image a scene where the main troup or just their pokemon are trapped together with Deustorm, they ask in to think of some way to ask and it like stay floating on the air pretending it's thinking hard and then it drops:"I don't know"
And everyone just goes:"NANIIIIIII?!" So funny lol.
I would definitely catch it though, it's pretty neat.
Ampherrum's lack of offensive power is easily handled, just give it Body Press and Heavy Slam and call it a day! Also give it something to counter Fire and Fighting-types, preference Tera Fighting-type with Rock slide or Accelerock to handle Fire and Flying-type pokemon. And there you have it, i fixed Amoherrum's low attackinf stats problem! ((Additionaly: Give it Heavy-Duty Boots or Weakness Police, and give it either Amnesia, Iron Defense or a Stealth Rocks of it's own for the last move.))
Aditional abilities for the two 'mons of the video;
Ampherrum: Stamina/Quick Feet/Snow Warning (Maybe even Filter considering it's dex entry about "cosuming rare metals gives it energy" a.k.a. filtering metals, and the fact it has two double weakness. Snow warning is also because of the dex entry motify)
Deustorm: Cloud Nine, Sand Stream, Drizzle, Moody, Levitate, etc. ((It's self-explanatory. Boi, it would fit with so many different abilities, what a bulky dude!))
Also, if your thinking about using it on your next region you would HAVE to change Deustorm ability because it's too broken, also could you please make a evolution for Sunna/Ansonian-Munna?
I would have loved to see an explanation in the lore for its wonderguard something like this: “in fact it is so slow witted that its brain fails to register all but the most piercing pain, making it inadvertently immune to almost all damage.”
I just love the idea that it has the most broken ability in the game just because it’s an idiot 😂
I'd love to see what Deustorm "actually" looks like. Imagine if without the facade, the current pupil were the whole eye & the entire snout was fake 😂💙

This is one of my favorite concepts on TH-cam right now. However I will say that the ‘height’ category is a little underwhelming. Maybe at least have it be height + weight?
An ability for deustorm (other than wonder guard) could be one that causes random weather upon entry and every turn while it's out.
Oh that would be pretty dang cool and it would be perfect for its lore. Maybe not every turn it's in battle because I think that would be a little much, but every time it's sent into battle I could see it summoning a random weather. Kinda like Moody or Acupressure where it's a random effect that the player can't control and it's luck of the draw.
Ampherrum might be one of my favorite designs you made. Look super realistic, the concepts really works (!) and it's just a silly looking guy. Gives off the same energy as Bolin from Legend of Korra. I bet Ampherrum and Politoed would be great friends on my team ❤

I like to think of alternate abilities for the pokemon based on the other attributes/dex entry.
I'd say ampherrum's natural abilities would be earth eater and vital spirit, with the hidden ability snow warning

1 - I find it hilarious that everyone was so focused on the Earth Eater ability and couldn't stop making jokes xD

I feel like the Frog's hidden ability should be Slush Rush, and for the second one, since it's an earthen shell, maybe not Wonder Guard, but a new ability Sand Shell that once it gets hit by a super effective hit, the shell falls away and has a secondary form.
I just went and watched the first 2 videos in this series. I recall you also did videos where you challenged other artists to create Pokemon based on random attributes. I thought you might be interested in bringing in Christian from Popcross Studios for one of your collab videos. He's actually done quite a few videos where he takes Pokemon and turns them into other things.
Also, the regions all had some missed opportunities; most recently, with Paldea, the Ramidreju from Spanish mythology didn't get any representation.

I love these series of videos with collabs because i adore seeing "Worlds collide". Idk is kind of like when i was a kid and i saw that one episode with multiple Power Rangers from different gens team up. Epic crossover. And i love that u basically have brought every poketuber under the sun for these, most i dont know but i like i get to meet them

Slight switch up... for Fakemon 2, I think it may benefit from having a custom ability of sorts. Something of a weaker Wonder Guard where it loses Wonder Guard after being damaged at least once (and maybe it comes with a change in form, too, such as the sand armor being lost and revealing it's true form). That way, it may look broken at a glance (matching the personality), but once you get past the one obstacle of the typing, the facade drops and all is revealed.
I know, that's not the point of this exercise, but it's nice to think about nonetheless.
I thought to that if the second fakemon has better stats it could become Rayquaza's counterpart

These two fakemons are very cool. Glad that the descriptions in this part match each other up pretty well, and the designs are just awesome!
Maybe instead of wonder guard, it has a similar ability that also causes it to have a chance to hit itself because it’s dumb, like a permanent confusion. Just for balance.
Of COURSE John/PM7 chose the body of a FROG with the excuse “I like FROGS!”! XD
Also, Frogs can hibernate under snow, but that still doesn’t answer if they can survive the snow or not. But if they can hibernate under snow just fine, then they can survive in snow apparently.
I thought of a signature move for Ampherrum: Ice type version of body press that uses SP. Def., called Crystalizing Hug

Okay, the only way I can think to debuff this mon is to give it only weather ball, maybe secret power, maybe also a signature move that changes the weather based on its health, nature, or IVs.
I do agree that if deustorm was a real pokemon the only thing you need to change is wonder guard to truant. Its not a truant because it's lazy, but because it's stupid and keeps getting distracted. Either that or a new ability that applies a random weather effect apon being sent out.
Another great video in the series. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the collaborative part of this is absolutely brilliant, everyone comes up with great ideas and it's awesome to see how they all mesh together into something. Lots of great guests on here as well, definitely a series that needs to continue. Can't wait to see what the next video in the series has in store.

He says about a pokemon with the speed of iron bundle, and 4 weaknesses all being somewhat rare(ice types are rare coverage is not too rare. Grass is rare overall. Water tends to be on defensive mons. Steel type is a coinflip for offense vs defense) and average overall bulk. This pokemon would likely to be banned stright to anything goes if dusk mane necrozma and zacian crowned weren't so common but even then it is arguably too broken if you consider tera. Btw I play gen 9 ubers often and this thing sounds more oppressive that calyrex shadow rider.
Deustorm's pose reminds me of Lord Beerus from Dragon Ball Like a God Of Destruction
Small correction, the rainbow serpent is not a god in aboriginal culture, but more of a great creature. Think closer to a hydra or Cerberus in terms of its mythological placing, instead of putting it in the position of godhood. Very cool to see indigenous Australian inspiration in the design though!

I want Deustorm to exist!! But also without Wonder Guard as that would be too game breaking. I think Mimikyu's ability of Disguise could be applied well with this concept! Awesome video as always :)
