  • Looking for a fancier version of the classic gel pen? Love that Sarasa refill, but you wish it were heavier? Maybe this is for you. But....maybe it's actually not. Watch to find out why I don't care for this pen.

I just got my first Sarasa Grand, and until now I have no complaints at all.❤

Good review. I agree that the Sarasa .7 is thicker than most 0.7 gel refills. Same can be said for the Zebra bold 1.0 gel refills, they are super smooth and wet but they are almost like markers. Also, the Sarasa Dry refills are much more saturated than the JF refills that come in the Zebra Clip pens, though the JF is waterproof and and the JLV is not.

Sarasa refills are a favorite refill of mine. I hate when inks blob, like many cheap ballpoints, and I've never had that problem with the Sarasa refills. That clip is obtrusive.

Can you use a .5 refill with this instead of the .7?

JLV refills are sarasa dry refills and they are not waterproof. the clip use JF refills that are waterproof. the sarasa clip is also considered archival but the dry refill is just dye and not permanent. Big mistake imo to confuse them b/c I use water a lot so i always pay attention to the refills

Good point. It’s a tradeoff because the saturation of the JLV Dry refills is much better than the JF refills found in the Clip pens.

Maybe the weight of the pen is contributing to the line thickness? Surprisingly I find the Grand easier to write with for longer writing sessions than the regular clip version. I keep it at my desk.

Hey i was just wondering if you could screw on the sarasa clip’s tip onto the sarasa grands body for more comfort

Interesting idea! It doesn't work, though. The threading on the two different sections is way different and incompatible.

@@inkdependence that is so unfortunate, is the metal grip on the Grand comfortable enough to use?

It's not bad, but I don't love this pen in general. The grip is only okay, and the clip is constantly hitting my finger when I click the knock. I love the Sarasa in many forms, but this one isn't for me.

love the vid. Your intro where you say u don't like advertisements is in fact an advertisement for you patreon. Pretty ironic
