David, your Vietnamese is quite good! The locals appreciate your efforts and that you’re trying to communicate with them in their language. You definitely have an edge with Kim’s help.
Haha my Vietnamese is absolutely terrible but I have to be willing to struggle through conversations if I want to improve. I feel like my Vietnamese always improves 10x faster when I'm trying to talk to a local vs trying to study online.
LOL. I personally think shopping experiences in person at local Vietnamese markets are a lot more fun than boring shopping online. I guess bargaining is part of the fun.
Honestly looooove your vlogs. Idk how you do it, but you make everything feel so natural, like we're a friend and we're actually there shopping with yalls haha!
Wow thanks so much! Glad you’re liking the style of it. That’s what I’m going for. Want you to feel like you’re on the same adventure as us and whatever happens happens
I have a feeling a few of my relatives were in these videos ❤️ my mother's family have several businesses in and around Da Nang I think. Also in Saigon - where I was born. I haven't been back to visit yetbut I'd LOVE to 🥰
Hey guys love the video! We’re looking at moving over next year with our dog too and your videos have been so helpful. Question with grabs and Nala, do you have to order a special vehicle for dogs or do any grab drivers take dogs? Thanks!
Usually what we do is call a 7 seater grab and then call them before they arrive to ask if a dog is ok. Most of them say yes. Some of the drivers are super dog friendly and will tell you to take their number down so next time you can call them directly for a ride if you need to take your dog somewhere.
Great video! Love that I got to see you , Kim, Nala and go on a fun and informative adventure. Kim I am sorry you didn't get to have your nail appointment 😢. God bless! LOVE FROM IOWA! 😊❤❤❤
haha yeah im watching my sugary drinks. Most of the time I stick with black coffees. Cold brew, americanos, pour overs etc. Vietnam coffee culture has expanded to western styles so a lot of places will serve cold brews or espresso drinks with local beans.
will visit DN by 2nd week of October, it was indeed a useful video for me and my wife, watched the DN series. Will definitely try the seafood resto though. Keep posting useful video David!
Hey David, great job on these videos. I'm actually a fellow techie from the US also. Will be DaNang last two weeks of December to scope out the area. Looking to move over there in a few years. Would be cool if we can meet for coffee at one of these cool cafes!!
Thanks for sharing the dog grooming place that cuts long fur. My dog has the same type of coat and the last place I took him to gave him a lion cut. Not a great look for a dog.
Oh no!!!!!! Yeah a lot of people here give their dog the lion cut for the heat they looks so silly lmfao. But for double coated dogs like huskies, cutting their top coat is really bad for their skin
Da Nang is surprisingly walkable city...unlike Saigon lol In my quick visit at Han Market, the vendors at start they gauge tourist prices because afterwards you go further in and you get cheaper quotes however, it's not worth negotiating on clothes made of polyurethane, cotton ones are the good stuff that's rejected at the factory because of defects.
Thanks! Kim works remotely for a US company. We don't know anything about the VN job market but you'll make more working an hourly job in the US than a high paying job in VN so it's not worth it as an American (I'm assuming you're American) to took for a local job here unless it's teaching English.
When you first said 70 first she answered "cung duoc" meaning it's acceptable. Should have just stopped there. No big deal, the important thing is you had fun and you are making progress learning Vietnamese
May i ask, what does it take to drive a 50cc scooter 🛵 legally in Vietnam? Im coming to Da Nang january 24th, staying there for 40 days, and want to drive around

Just binged the whole Vietnam series. Can’t wait for more content! Keep up the good work and cheers to you and Kim.
Wow thanks! Some of those videos are really long too 😂
same thing here! wanted to learn more about Vietnam
Nola is the most calming husky ever!! Always enjoy these vlogs!!
Yeah her personality is like the opposite of the stereotypical husky. She's so calm and sweet
LOL. I personally think shopping experiences in person at local Vietnamese markets are a lot more fun than boring shopping online. I guess bargaining is part of the fun.
Oh yeah it's definitely fun. Good way to practice fun to interact with the people.

@ that’s so great to know. Thanks!
I saw you guys at the Cong Ca Phe and I am in the video for a moment. lol The dog is really cute♡
Cool! I think we ended up going to 2 differnt Cong Ca Phe's in one day haha. Thanks for the cameo
Useful script. +1 👍

Thanks! Luckily she was able to grab a slot at the end of the day but she just felt bad rescheduling over and over on the same day.
David I dig your Kim Jung Un 🇰🇵 haircut so international! lol 😆
💀💀💀 I'm 0 for 2 on haircuts in Da Nang so far. Just my way of spreading diplomacy to the East
@@TravelWithNala cool 👍 - diplomacy through a well coiffed head ! 😉
Love the cafe hopping! Vietnam or Korea is the best for that. However, I would get my hba1c checked after 3 months of that. So much sugar!!

Hey! I can’t really schedule anything but feel free to say hi if you ever see me on the street it’s a small city.
Nice🎉
It’s not dumb! We need magnets! 😂
I can let the first 20 magnets slide but when we get to 21 magnets....
@@TravelWithNala then you better get a big ass refrigerator to fit it all when you and Kim buy a home!😂

This video is so useful for me. What's the name of the market you guys went to? Keep it up
Nice! It's called Han Market. 2 other local markets are Con Market and Bac My An Market
Da Nang is surprisingly walkable city...unlike Saigon lol
In my quick visit at Han Market, the vendors at start they gauge tourist prices because afterwards you go further in and you get cheaper quotes however, it's not worth negotiating on clothes made of polyurethane, cotton ones are the good stuff that's rejected at the factory because of defects.
It is and it isn't. It's so hot that I'll take a scooter to go half a block away haha
@@TravelWithNala surely Kim never walked so much in Vietnam before that day 😁
@@yamuiemata Kim's a passenger princess
Love your vlogs!! May I ask what Kim does or where she works? I want to move to VN but am not very familiar with the job market.
Thanks! Kim works remotely for a US company. We don't know anything about the VN job market but you'll make more working an hourly job in the US than a high paying job in VN so it's not worth it as an American (I'm assuming you're American) to took for a local job here unless it's teaching English.
@@TravelWithNala Thank you so much! Yes, Vietnamese America (similar to Kim). I’ll keep on researching. Looking forward to your future videos.
Can you bring everything back to the states that you buy? Any fees or import taxes? Thanks
Yeah things like shirts and souvenirs is fine. Now sure where the threshold is but much higher than what we're buying in Vietnam
Not everything.
If you need to offload some of those mooncakes I love those things.
What’s the shelf life on these things? I’m worried they’ve all gone bad already
When you have limited time to charge and your phone can be secure like this, but it on airplane mode charges x3 as fast!
oh cool tip! I didn't know that. I was surprised how fast it charged in that little box though they much have fast charging cables.
real price for fabric is 75k/meter btw XD
Yeah that sounds more reasonable. I was thinking maybe 100k for this one because of the embroidery but definitely not 150k lol
You guys are so cheap. Đà Nẵng isn’t infamous for overpricing
lol she already easily agreed to 70k for the cookies and David bargained for 80k :)
I think she said 80 and I said ok

Just ask the scooter rental shops what your options are
why you speak to dog with that voice?
watchu mean? that's my voice
@@TravelWithNala No it changes when you talk to dog.. beautiful dog.
