Whilst looking through some old discarded tech with some friends, I found a microphone like one of those used by Xander in this sketch, and decided to keep it just to enact this gag myself.
Only discovered this a couple of days ago. So funny! Happy moments like buying a house, getting married etc with the flipside of James Bond villain at the end. Priceless!
I believe Dominic at the end was played by Peter Howitt who directed Ben Miller in Johnny English and also wrote and directed Sliding Doors and played the original Joey Boswell in Bread.
This video is brilliant! It shows imagination, enthusiasm and a real understanding of how to make people laugh! I'd forgotten just how good this joke could be, until you put this up! I'll have to think about subscribing... *goes over to desk and presses button on the mic* Kill them
@Paul Carter. Correct! It happened to be on the telly last night and at one point Donald Pleasance’s Blofeld gives the “kill them” order into a mic exactly like that. I may get one too, but first I need an army of henchmen and a suitable volcano from which to make my bid for world domination.
You know that microphone? It goes straight to a earphone impanted into the brain of a cow who sends it to IKEA meatball devlopment team who send it to the dislike bar of all bad youtube videos, and the people you see submit thoughs videos which crushes there soles of there feet (by science) and they fall of a chair.
Subversion of expectations. You never know when it's going to happen in a script, so it's hilarious when it does. I find the "bins" sketches are just as funny even if you know they're coming, but while these are still pretty funny, they'd definitely be better if you didn't know when or where they'd happen.
One day, an episode of Pointless will end like this.
ConstantineBooth I'm afraid you didn't won the jackpot .... kill them
Still waiting.
Still waiting
A pair are eliminated at the end of each round!
I've been waiting for this for so long
This shouldn't be funny when you know what's coming but somehow it still is
6 years later and this still applies, my thoughts exactly
That's literally what a catchphrase is
I love how whatever accent he's speaking in changes back to RP when he says "kill them"
There was one where he didn't, when he did it completely in french....
one of the best recurring sketches ever
I'm a university lecturer and did this in our new auditorium. It was hilariious. Well, I laughed. I'm currently suspended.
😂

The way he says it is the reason it is so funny to me lolol
An excellent series of sketches.... Kill-them.....
Anyone who has worked in pubs, knows this feeling, and wishes they had a little silver microphone
That would be any customer service my good man. I often fantasise about machine gunning my customers.
@@Kris.G Yep, in retail too....
Every day I wish I had that microphone...
These always make me laugh more than I probably should... Hahaha!!!

Bet you don’t have any friends do you ?
What makes it funny is that you get so lost in all his accents that you forget "kill them" is coming.
I was waiting for Mr Smith to drop this line in The Sarah Jane Adventures - oh well....
Think the Santa one's the best xD
the ending was brill!
I can't wait.
When even the priest has one of those microphones in his office, it's time to get worried.
Absolute genius!
I like the one where he says 'kill them'.
This pleases me.
Evetytime the contestants leave pointless.
'Listen, it's been wonderful having you on the show, thank you so much for playing - Alice and Vicky! ..... Kill them.'
The Father Christmas one always gets me.
After the past month... I understand all these characters 😂
Made a couple of GIFS from this
This is the best fucken sketch i love it so much xD
I m never going to trust people with microphones again....
my favourite one is the one with the pope

*goes over to desk and presses button on the mic*
Kill them
The evil vicars are back.
The pope ones the funniest
The director one at the end is the best!
Its missing the Itsy & Bitsy 1970s lids TV piss take, that was the funniest
0 dislikes, everyone who was gonna dislike was killed
genius
I'd love to see the kill team doing the wet work. Must be a huge organization.
Aw, you didn't include my favourite of these, with the kids' TV show and the sock puppets 🤣
2:42 At first I thought he said
"Here's a package from the *benders* "
I thought "?...wot?"
4 people have been killed
Reminds me of You Only Live Twice

Play the santa one in 2x speed!
order 66 in a nutshell
Haha, brilliant joke!
@machete97 Is your f key broken?
Unfortunately I tend to do this now.
Are these in chronological order?
You know that the Pope, vicars, teachers, shopping centre santas etc are doing this every single day.
Jim Howick is cute elf.
How King Charles will deal with Prince Harry and Meghan
Thumbs up if you think Dominic at the end did it best
it's funny cause it could be true lol
👏🍪💪🐧👋
It makes no sence, but it as funny as hell!! How do you come up with these ideas??🤔🤣🤣
You have about 25 writers
0 dislikes, kill no one.
3:23 oh no there isn't!
Why is the Pope playing Glastonbury?
I can imagine the Queen saying this, when it involves Harry and Meghan
Or Diana.
The Queen would say: "off with their heads!"
I don't get it?
Lol, I know I was being a troll.
@Supermassively i don't know if you've realised mate.. but it's a fucking wig.. :L
I don't get it
It's a coy poke at an old staple of spy movies -- the villain on the intercom
You know that microphone? Joey from Bread is evil!
The director has a better delivery than Armstrong!
Former actor Peter Howitt ?
dont get it :s
I think you've got to imagine it in the context of a script show so no one knows watching the program for the first time what the joke is going to.
Joseph Allison be
Thanks for that comments. Makes it much easier for me to understand those skits now.

Have you not seen a James Bond movie or any action thriller with a big boss? It's a common thing throughout history.
