Thank God for today’s technology or I would have never gotten to see this. Go Louis Zamperini!!!! 🏆 Just finished watching “ Unbroken, Path to Redemption“ ❤️✨ I’m glad I found this video, it’s great to see right after watching the movie and a few interviews with Zamperini. 💕 God is SO Good!!! He knows exactly what to do to bring us to our conversion. Thanks to all of our Soldiers for all they’ve endured for our Freedom. 🇺🇸🙏💕
Do yourself a favour and read the book! I liked the movie until I read the book, and then saw the movie for what it was. A failed attempt to tell an unbelievable story. The movie cuts out SO much of his story that in hindsight, feels like an insult to Zamperini's legacy!
Zamperini didn't win an Olympic medal but he won the respect and admiration of his wartime countrymen for his resilience and later, his determination to forgive.
The 'hakkaa päälle' cheer from the Finnish supporters kind of breaks my heart, knowing how only a couple of years later thousands of men would be shouting the same in a desperate struggle of life and death.
@@justinwentworth1467 , it was just a movie, fiction. They had to find some fascinating there. And what does it matter if he was the fastest runner in the last lap, when he was already 200 meters behind the leader? Why he didn´t run faster before that? He couldn´t because he was a second-class runner. Prefontaine and Zamperini, too much bullshit for nothing.
@@saminieminen4871 It’s actually a historical drama, nonfiction, including the fact that he set a new lap record, according to en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Zamperini Also, I disagree with the argument that he was a “second-class runner” due to the fact that he was an up and coming candidate to be the first to break the 4 minute mile, according to www.google.com/amp/s/www.history.com/.amp/news/8-things-you-may-not-know-about-louis-zamperini Second, the point of the scene wasn’t that he is the most amazing runner ever. It was to show how deeply he cared for his family, to emphasize his character and his resilience. He didn’t run faster before that because he was struggling, those boys were moving fast. But he found the courage to keep going and finish strong, stronger than anyone ever had, simply with the thought of his family in his head. Tl;dr, it’s character development, not a broadcast of the olympics. Thirdly regardless of how he placed I must say it is still extremely impressive of strong all of the runners were, like those are some serious paces for even one mile, never mind 3! Lastly you seem to have some sort of personal vendetta against the character simply because he “didn’t win”. If that’s how you judge character, I can’t argue with that. However it truly was a remarkable display of character, and where he finds his victory is not in placing first but rather making his family back at home proud, so proud. Did you see their reaction!? They were stunned! So was the crowd!! Lastly lastly you’re kinda being toxic mate, chill ✌️
@@justinwentworth1467, anyway, he did not get any medal. He was only in 8:th place. So why you americans keep talking about him? Guys I don't think Zamperini was in this race. For one thing, his number was 751 which I don't see out there, and for another, he ran in the 5000 meter race not the 1000.
@kozmon0t You are right. I was being foolish I guess. I read history though. Where were the Finnish people originated? Propably somewhere Peter the Great decided to make his country, that fucker. And the Saami people. I need to think thousands of years of ago for that and it isn't all that easy
The small Japanese gave them 3 Finish a scare. had the Japanese is as tall and have longer legs thus longer pacing they could not have beat the Japanese.

Yea
Okei
Did zamperini broke finland's win streak lol
In 2024 Finland won 0 medals.
1st: Illmari Salminen 30:15.4
2nd: Arvo Askola 30:15.7
3rd: Vollmari Iso-Hollo 30:20.2
A Finland sweep.
3:54 Herman Goering really enjoys the race.
