Thank you so much for this. I'm 68 and had never heard of this story until about three years ago. I read the book written by Laura Hillenbrand and then only a couple of months ago, I watched the 2014 movie. The thread runs real deep in both the book AND the movie that faith in God really CAN move mountains. In Zamps case, the mountain was his hatred toward The Bird. I find it remarkable that he lived to the ripe old age of plus 97 years old. AND, I find it remarkable that the Japanese people look so favourably toward Louis. There really IS a God in Heaven who wants the best for mankind!!!!! Thank you Paul for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Louis Zamperini. A true hero. R. I. P. Louis. His story of surviving 47 days out at sea was truly trying to these guys. I salute this man for being courageous, and keeping his sanity in that tumultuous situation.
I live in Hiroshima and I go past peace park almost all the time I go out to town... I can't believe that i was stepping on the ground that louis zamperini had once stepped... that's just amazing...
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!! I had a couple of long-running unanswered questions from the books and other documentaries -- and they were finally answered in this presentation.
This man,Louis Zamperini inspired me at the movie "Unbroken" and it inspired me because I'm also in the Track and Cross Country team in Westmoor which he is also a good role model for everyone that really loves to run and the movie "Unbroken" is a really inspiring story. R.I.P Louis Zamperini
Louis Zamperini came to one of our SR patriotic luncheons. He said when he went back to Japan an official asked him if anything positive had come out of being a prisoner of the Japanese. He then told us "I don't know why I said it but I replied IT PREPARED ME FOR (?) YEARS OF MARRIAGE!" to which that person burst out laughing! He then inferred what he meant was it had taught him when to keep his mouth shut! I still have his autographed book Devil At My Heels.
I’m fascinated by the miracles while at sea. Miraculously wakes up untangled and comes to and manages to surface. Lives for 47 days fighting sharks and keeping his buddies together. Takes machine gun fire on a little raft, no one hit and a depth charge drop that somehow doesn’t go off.. Some crazy stuff
Louis was a true Man of God. A great athlete and a soldier like many others. He was ferocious in battle and magnanimous in victory. Fight On Louis! and thank you for your service. You will never be forgotten. RIP
mafia=Italians , heroes=Americans, But the same blood is flowing in our veins. Thats what makes me sad about the human ability of judgment. With all the respect I have for such a hero: chi vuol capire, capisca.
+Dan Troy, true Americans are black, brown or red skinned ;) The other ones are Europeans and Asians that went in search of a new life on their continent.
He was an exceptional man indeed. So much inner strength. I'm an atheist but I understand one would turn to anything to get one through such hardships. I'm in awe.
