I know it didn't meet the capacity standards but there is a ice hockey team called the Ice Wolves that play at Out Post Ice Arenas with capacity of just 1,000
as someone that enjoys sports venues, and someone who’s lived in albuquerque for most of his life, surprised i havent seen this til now. isotopes park is a solid baseball spot and has been for over two decades. the soccer team that shares the stadium will also be getting their own venue on the north side of town just west of the interstate
Hey I live in Albuquerque and have been to most of these stadiums! I think it’s time to start a Rock Ball team here (the Indians used to play that game here)
It might seem strange because Albuquerque is in the desert but it doesn't actually get THAT hot. Record high temps in the midwest and pacific northwest are often ten degrees higher than Albuquerque. Some of these arenas are at a mile high and much of the town is even higher at up to 6400ft, or 1950 meters, so while it's sunny and warm it doesn't get unbearably hot.
The reason for the spelling difference between Albuquerque and Alburquerque is that the train system that was established required a sign of a certain length (and therefore, a certain number of characters) on the sign for the train station. Alburquerque was one character too long; hence, Albuquerque.
I often think mid 60s to late 80s stadium design is the pits but I really like that UNM basketball arena! The High School football stadium is pretty decent too. Loving the façade on the Carlisle gym.
@@adrianschroeder2798 so long as you don’t live in the “warzone” Albuquerque is continuing to grow. Single family homes rent for more in ABQ than much of even a west coast city such as Portland or Sacramento. The demand to live in Albuquerque is certainly there.
I wrote a full paragraph listing all the way Albuquerque has gotten worse in the year Ive lived here but the main thing is this. You can’t drive 2 blocks in any direction in town without seeing a beggar, homeless person or drug addict. I can’t look at any city FILLED with people essentially begging for their survival as thriving. Especially when it is a direct link to all the other flaws ABQ has shoplifting, drug abuse, break ins. Just because the whole city isn’t a shootout waiting to happen doesn’t suddenly mean we’re thriving. It’s only thriving if you’re wealthy and apathetic enough to ignore the thousands of people struggling, suffering or the tens of thousands that are only just surviving.

If you are going to bring up Nusenda Community Stadium, then Milne and Wilson stadium should also get a mention. Similarly, if you are going to bring up Carlisle Gym, then Johnson Gym should also get a mention.
Forgetting Milne Stadium is minor infraction I can overlook do to its insignificance. However, you failed to mention the most important stadium/venue in the entire city! HOW?!?! HOW do you forget to mention the Isleta Amphitheater?!?!?!
Lots of great times at the Pit, Tingley, and Isotopes park. Hoping the United can finally get their stadium built

Great place, love drinking in the parking lot between periods

Everybody knows Albuquerque because it's where Bugs Bunny took a wrong turn.
As a resident, we all have a mandatory bugs shaped strap on

It's already a cool 65 degrees as I type this, which is early in the morning. Summer's gone, pretty much!
@@scott9269 bro ABQ weather is almost perfect. If the damn wind would chill out.
Yeah I'm pretty sure summers reaching 102°F for weeks on end isn't mild here, but hey it's a dry heat...

just as a fun fact, Albuquerque is derived from Latin meaning White Oak.
JUST. ANOTHER. BANGER!!!!
Those holes re called arroes and catch flood water.
The reason University Stadium doesn’t have a nickname is because, UNM has never had a consistently good Football team.

When you first see The Pit on this video my apartment complex is at the top of the screen, where I'm typing this right now! 🤯
The big bad stadiums Aussie is back! Nice vid as usual

Another fantastic video with awesome music
Wouldn't it be Footrock? Basketrock? If they were to use a rock for a ball?
Albuquerque relies on groundwater so runoff is collected in sumps.
Stadiums of Greater Manchester pleaseeee
"Thriving" is a strong word to describe ABQ

in one of the pics of the Pit the UNM fans are trying to distract the guy taking a free throw and one of them is holding a pic of him.
Stadiums of Riyadh?
University Stadium should be renamed Walter White Stadium. Now that would be cool.
No bc he's fictional and he was a drug dealer that destroyed other peoples lives, and his own.
Nah, it's bad enough we made bronze statues of them. We don't need to rename anything after them.
GAA stadiums
Cause our sports stadiums suck.

How is Albuquerque getting a video before Phoenix AZ!?
Because we're more bada** than Phoenix! 😎💪💪
How can you genuinely say that an arena in ABQ is one of the loudest when Serbia and Greece exist?
Because it is? And has been for decades. Especially when Kenny Thomas was playing.
