Y'all need to chill in the comments. This is not nearly as unrealistic and broken as last year. Quick NBA players do "blow by" slower players in real life, just not to the degree we saw in 2018.
Thats what i was getting at lol Originally Osman defensive ability on KD was actually what was unrealistic. If you didn't know good enough techniques like this Osman will box KD up all game.
This is a real blow by,not like 2k18 where it was PURELY 100,000 % animation driven. What I see in this video is fast players blowing by slower perimeter defenders in a clean and can still be challenged manner.
Sam Thank you and I consider this a very informative video. The escape dribble moves are apart of basketball, and having a go to move is imperative. This is a jewel. The Pham move is very deadly when used with Kevin Durant. I hit a lot of my mid range shots and I got fouled when I drove. So it does work and again thank you. I'm still building confidence with the lob pass out of this combo move, however I do see where this breaks the defense down low. The move itself requires concentration. I did find myself struggling to perform the move with Steph and Klay as you said we would. So I am excited to learn your small gaurd escape dribble combos. Don't be discouraged by some of these comments. We are honored to have these tutorials before the game drops. As well as the 2k19 tutorials throughout the year. Keep it going Pham!!!💥💯💣🐐🐐🐐🐐
I appreciate it man haha well to each his own. I get the complaints of the sim heads, but I do what I do. I am an optimal strategy designer, I can’t hold myself back or try to justify my tactics within a context. I aim to be optimal and that’s what I do.

I don’t think I am that smart tho at least not to a point where this is so good it would work on a pure sharp. You will have to test that out but I worry a pure sharp pulling this off consistently

I feel like 2K19 has potential, much more than 2K18 had, so I’ve got to do some studying so you can help me take this game over the top. Glad I’ve got a 6’7 Two-Way Shot Creator. He should be able to do this move and defend it on the other side. I like the improved defense, but they’ve got the CPU doing too much on HOF! And the layup timing is giving me headaches!
Shot selection and stick skills really is everything vs HOF this year. Don’t worry give me some time, as more tutorials I made eventually by #15 we be all killing HOF I am sure 😂
I found this too by playing black top 1 on 1 but not worked when the opponent keep distance. Another way is to keep moving to right or left, when times come, hold r2 and drive. Also, if you stuck, try lucky by post and spin. Tried in 6'0 pure slasher build 86 overall.
The reason the defense is so broke this year is because the defender is allowed commit a blocking foul. It's so annoying when you're about to drive in and they just teleport infront you stopping you which is a blocking foul but it never is called.
Hey Sam, really interested in your thoughts on the changes to hop step shooting this year with R2/RT.... Genuinely unsure why they changed it - a simple stepback out of a rhythm dribble/size up is now gone or maybe I'm just missing something - as it was fine in 18 but just needed speeding up.

It was way easier to blow past defenders in 18. I prefer the move to focus on stick skill this year. This is no secret I discovered lots of theses techniques practicing in mypark .
This blow by/speed boost is not as overpowered as people think. Just learn how to play against it instead of crying patch it. You can combat this offense by playing back on your defender and while this creates more space for shots you can contest shots even with the space with good timing. But the space gives you extra room to cut off the blow by.
Man I’m going to practice this, I’m struggling to get over 89ovr right now with a play /shot ( bad shooting attributes) but great ball handling and speed ... this may resurrect my myplayer
He didn't ruin anything... just play better on ball defense and dont rely on cpu rotations... hes actually letting you guys who are complaining learn to beat CPU and not actual online players.

I been trying it for basically 2 days now and at this point I'm convinced theres a patch on it. it just dosen't really work I may blow by the defender 1 out of every 10-15 times. I feel like I've tried everything and made sure everything was right ball control 86 and a mismatch even tried it when KD was on fire. So strange to get used to attacking on the same angle as the ball. I almost never do it without a crossover and attack because that is also what I do irl.
I started a myTeam and won 5 straight game using this move with Lillard. Then when I played a new division I noticed Lillard was missing from my line up. Is this a glitch? The card is completely gone. I almost feel like 2k deleted him somehow because of how many dunks he had in those 5 games.

Sam Pham... you showed this move on the prelude. But on the game it’s not working the same way. And ( fist 35 flow ). I don’t see it at all in the Celtic play book only in the pelicans.
Celtics playbook got updated by 2k. I still use this move on HOF with KD and Paul George, works great. If is a my player you gonna need 86 ball control to do it

If you can do the same exact move multiple times in a row & it works every single time that is CHEESE period!!!!! Game not even out & people coming up with game breaking methods already but the only good thing about this is that this only works against AI defenders because it seem they don't react at all after the behind the back move for a split second which allows the blow by to happen
Agreed. I need full game to refined this on a user. But if you can get a user leaning wrong direction and you explode opposite at THAT speed should still work. Humans LEAN wrong a lot more than AI

the defense this year is ridiculously unrealistic. i don't mind lockdown defense from players like gary payton jordan kawhi but why is it that star players like kobe have trouble blowing by unathletic role players who can't play defense in real life? every member on team plays defense like kawhi and it is ruining the game.

step 4 push LS at basket and hold turbo
