    One of the best sounding ej205s I’ve heard. Lots of turbo noise. I like it

      I do use 2 microphones, with one under the hood.....but this Borg Warner is by far the loudest turbo I’ve had on a Subaru. Spools so loud. Fantastic turbo as well. Blowing cold air at 20psi

      @@ieatflys nope. Just a normal borg Warner s257sxe. It’s loud cause I had a mic in the engine bay near the turbo lol

    Nice!
    Where did you get air vent gauge pod for AEM wideband?

    • @k24impreza
      @k24impreza  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just cut the stock air vent to fit my gauges and made small brackets to hold them

    How are you liking this setup? Running a TD06H-20G on my stock ej205 and its doing well. This might be a nice upgrade in the future. Any estimate on the type of power you're making?

      I love this turbo. Priced really well, preforms really well, t3 flange makes fab easy, and makes good noises if you’re into that lol.
      At 20 psi it’s making roughly 330whp by 7,000rpm. Full boost with the ej205 by 4,000-4500 depending on gear. I have a built/cammed 2.0 going in soon and should be able to make 450-500 with this turbo no problem.

    What's with the surging sound under boost? The turbo flow stream sounds highly inconsistent.

    • @k24impreza
      @k24impreza  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s the wastegate not the turbo

    • @mcfoolskully
      @mcfoolskully 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@k24impreza I know, is the wastegate spring fluttering open and closed or is it supposed to sound like that? I'm not trying to hate just curious. There is clearly surges of air through the system rather than a continuous wastegate exit stream.

    • @mcfoolskully
      @mcfoolskully 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@k24impreza Ohhh is this a Subaru thing from unequal length headers? I could see that causing the flow inconsistency and the fluttering sound when you're boosting.

    • @k24impreza
      @k24impreza  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, that’s just how subarus boost control system makes it sound. If it was using a manual boost controller or just going off spring pressure it would sound constant. With the electronic boost controller it’s rapidly opening and closing the wastegate to keep boost where I wanted it, so it makes the annoying sound.

    20psi and aroudn 330whp? considering a S200SXE for a k24 build but i'm not sure how to spec it. looking for around 350-400whp with as much response as possible

    • @k24impreza
      @k24impreza  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re talking a Honda k24 right? That should make way more power at the same boost as my Subaru engine did. Should have decent high compression right? This ej205 engine only has 8.0:1 so it takes 20psi to get over 300whp. I’m no Honda expert, but I think you can get 350-400 on a k24 with like 10-15psi. Could be wrong though

    Does this turbo have the T51R mod that it spools that loud?

    • @k24impreza
      @k24impreza  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No T51R mod. It’s a very loud turbo. It’s hard to hear in videos so this is with a microphone in the engine bay to hear it better....so this is slightly louder than it really is, but still very loud spool noises in the cabin. Sounds like a diesel truck 😂😂
