Testing my firman tri-fuel generator under load on my Coachman travel trailer

  • In this brief video I test my Firman T07573 tri-fuel generator under load for the first time as I use an adapter I bought off of Amazon and connect to my 1983 Coachman travel trailer. Camping season is here and I usually connect to shore power but I wanted to know if I could camp "off grid" with my noisy construction generator if I needed or wanted to. I also wanted to play around with the propane startup process as many of you stated you should not need a choke to start from propane. In this video I show where the Firman startup instructions state to put on the choke and I tried it once. It did not start so I followed the suggestions from you guys and turned the choke off and it started right up. Once I moved past that I connected the Amazon 30 amp utility to rv adapter and turned on the coachman travel trailer's air conditioner and let things run for close to an hour. I forgot to mention that the Firman was running on propane because the classic camper has two large propane tanks and while the energy output is not as high as gas it would be easier to use the camper propane when camping. The A/C felt slightly underpowered and the plugs got mildly warm but everything ran good and the noise inside the camper was reasonable. This setup is not something I would run around the clock but it is nice to know I can use the Firman for periods with the camper if I need to.

Heck yeah bud! Hey on that ac unit... I've got a similar one on my enclosed trailer. It, for example, takes 3400 watts to start the compressor and then I believe about 2400 sustained to run it but if that Foreman is starting the compressor which it is. It will run it sustained very easily.
Take the cover off sometime on top of the trailer and look at the aluminum coil up there. And maybe take compressed air and blow it out. you can also rinse dust or bugs etc out of there gently with a garden hose.
And then it should have a foam filter that you can access From inside the trailer. Those 2 things might get you back to where you feel like you ought to be on cooling power or efficiency. 👍

Don't use gasoline. Just more problems.
