Even though this song is great I loved how the music would go away when you went up high...just listening to the ambient ocean noise was nice and calming
I don't know how many people realized this, but something genius put in this game is that every song, every sound effect, every melody, everything was either in C or C Minor, making the transitions between songs as well as the song layering really smooth.
Anyone ever wonder if the creators of movie/game soundtracks ever visit videos of their music? If Kirkhope ever comes to this video and looks at the comments I just want to say your music is amazing and the music made for this game perfectly fits each level!!
That shark was quite a nightmare back then :) But I remember, how well the water was looking as I stand at the top of the "mountain" and watched over the sea. Hell, was that game great, thx very much rare :')
Yes, this happened to be the graveyard of Banjo Kazooie... :( It's really nice that we'll get Yooka-Laylee, but truly sadly, Banjo and Kazooie won't ever return in such a great and funny Adventure... Microsoft took more than they could bite I guess... :/
Man I didn't even play this game until last year when I bought it at a used game store and this music is already super nostalgic for me! I really do miss being kid again and having sleepovers on Fridays and just playing N64 the whole night. Hope my children can someday experience a part of my childhood.
You described pretty much all the games I'm Re-playing right now... Rare was really awesome. Difficulty genuinely dosed, Games with the best OST, along with the Mario and Zelda games of the same period. And above all, the games allways are so interesting to complete with 100%. Love this collecting part, that no game has as much developped as theirs. What is making those games legends for me!
@hoogomoogo I agree! I'm 21 and i got n64 when it came out, i've owned and played so many consoles and all my favorite console games are on n64, it's the best system by far. I'll never have as good of a time playing video games as I did when I was a young kid on my n64, the level of creation and detailed imagination is unmatched by n64 games, n64 games blew my mind and still do.
I open TH-cam, I look at the search box blankly for a moment, and then, for some reason, my fingers automatically type in 'trea', and then this video shows up, and I stare blankly at it for another moment. That was it. I loved this game so much, it had inserted some of my most frequent experiences (flipping upside down into that treasure chest) into my subconscious itself. This game, and Tooie, had become not just my life, but my mind as well.
I love it how I last played this game 10 years ago when I was 7, but still after all these years I only had to hear the first note or two and I instantly recognized it and could hum/whistle the song. :)
this game is one of the four that made the beginning of my childhood awesome, the other ones being zelda ocarina of time, donkey kong 64 and mario party i was only 1 year old when this game came out, and strangely i can remember the very first time i remember this game, being this level one of the most nostalgic ones ohh i loved those days
This will be forever my favorite game, tho i do miss it when it was my first time of playing it, i was like "wooooah" and had a blast, me and my cousin would always play it and find out where things were and how to do it
Going to the top at the lighthouse was a real treat, however. Everything was calm and quiet, with the only things you hear are the wind and the distant sea. As if you were really there...
I bought this game of ebay because it looked cool and man it was awesome. The levels aren't boring at all and awesome music! If you get bored in a few hours you have the urge to play this game again in 30 minutes!
Yeah, me too. I love how it goes all "beachy" for TTC, all "swampey" for Bubblegloop Swamp, and all icey and quit for Freezeezy Peak. But the best transition is Mad Monster Mansion's - the perfect blend of organ to the main tune works really well.
When I Played This Game In June And July Of 1998 This level Fits Perfectly With The music and Listening To this On Summer was A total Hit and I listened It everytime On the Beach Rareware Games Were My Childhood And This one Brings So many Memories 😢
Man! It's incredible how the mor eI listen to najo kazooie soundtrack the more it gets truly perfect and legendary to me!!! This isn't anything more EPIC in the world!!!!!
Yeah, that shark scared the f*** outta me when I fell into the water, still does! However I did find out a while back that you can kill him by luring him into the shallow water and then hitting him with a golden feather or by farting some eggs ontop of his head. :3
hahaaaa im 23 now and this song was playing in my head randomly so i had to youtube it. mannn, i put in so much damn work on this game, collecting honey combs and red feathers. this was an amazing time in my childhood. :)
There's one thing stopping me adding this to my playlist: this level is a bitch! I used to have so much trouble on this one (yes I know it's level two, but I was seven!). I remember trying to get the Jinjo under the start pad, and I actually got killed by Snacker!
I'm sixteen now and remember my mom buying this and watching her and my sister play it. Now I've played in for about 11 years, and this is still probably one of my favorite worlds, along with mad monster mansion and freezey peak, between Banjo & Kazooie and Banjo & Tooie.
@krieg9999 WORD! reminds me of my childhood. i always used to play banjo and kazooie at my uncles flat, we were having pizza, coke and chips :D my gandparents lived directly below his flat. it was such a great time. thx for uploading :)
I am 13 and I own a n64 and have played banjo kazooie, and yes it is better then cod and bf3 together. Those game can't beat the feeling you have while playing banjo kazooie. Nowadays there is only *bang' bang*. With banjo kazooie it was a adventure it was awesome. There were funny and creative characters and funny and creative missions to get jiggies and notes. Everything was built perfect around it.
i was so happy when i found out there is an xbox 360 remake of banjo kazooie and banjo tooie i never get tired of those Nintendo hands down was that best system there ever will be
Wow seeing the videos of the music from the game really made me search for 30 minutes for my N64. I found it with this game but there was a wire missing. -orders one of ebay D; damn now i have to wait to play it :'(!

I still find it humourous that they placed a tiny sign on a little island in the middle of the ocean reading "shark bate island" in very small writing, so that you needed to swim out to read it. Was funny untill i died by the shark right after reading it.
This game was just beautiful, full of color, great characters and epic music. Most of all the game was just great fun to play.I really miss those Rare N64 days! Without a doubt the golden era for Video Games.

Grant Kirkhope is a genius, his music framed some of the happiest moments of my childhood.
A genius, with an incredible career. He composed the music, was the voice of Mumbo Jumbo, and Donkey Kong. A Legend
Even though this song is great I loved how the music would go away when you went up high...just listening to the ambient ocean noise was nice and calming

yes they do. the creator of the n64 pilot wings soundtrack posted a comment on the bird man theme song. he even remade the song lol.

I can close my eyes and pretend I'm at the beach listening to this. They even got the sounds of the waves crashing down. Good job again, Rare.
That shark was quite a nightmare back then :) But I remember, how well the water was looking as I stand at the top of the "mountain" and watched over the sea. Hell, was that game great, thx very much rare :')

Grant Kirkhope is to Banjo-Kazooie is what David Wise is to Donkey Kong Country.
And what Robin Beanland is to Conker, as well as what Nobuo Uematsu is to Final Fantasy!
And now they combine for the Ukulele project... (spiritual Banjo successor)
