The worker backed my car into another when he was doing a 3-point turn inside the garage (while I was watching from the waiting room above the garage and looking at it happen through the window!) and the jerk GM refused to do anything about it! Left a big depression/dent in the bumper. This Defendant was a nice guy. NEVER BUYING AN ACURA AGAIN!

Judge telling them how crazy and dishones it was to not fire him for lying but she would've been okay with saying they fired him but didn't to make her happy 😒 🤔
Whether they fire or don't fire the employee really isn't the issue here - the issue is about making the plaintiff whole and on her terms since they violated her trust, which they did. THAT said, I get wanting to be empathetic towards employees, but one thing you can't really overlook as a people manager is dishonesty and lack of integrity. Making a mistake and screwing up is one thing; we all do it. Lying and trying to cover it up is another. That kind of stuff can destroy a business, especially a small or family business. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses on things like this, and someone who does something willfully and intentionally dishonest just needs to go, and it's really not somehting that should require debate. If he does it once, he'll do it again. I wouldn't want unethical and integrity-less people working for me, anyway.
The person that did that should've been fired! It's almost seems as though the garage is complicit with that man's actions by allowing him to remain an employee
I was in management for over 25 years, worked with all sorts. I would have fired the guy if he was new or if there had been other problems with him. But not if he was a long term employee with zero issues.
That type of dishonesty wasn't just a little lie, it showed just how dumb he was, and that he thought everyone else was as dumb as he ...he worked there for over 4 year's and never figured out that there were survalance cameras at the place he worked...he messed up first by damaging a customer's vehicle, then he fd up by attempting to hide that fact, then he still lied about it even when it was discovered...wow!! I just would have to let him go and wish him the best in his life, and hope he learns not to do that at his next job... But hey I bet he is probably related or good friends of the family or som like that... The owner didn't do any better by not disclosing everything to the customer. First of all...If you don't know what happened to the car, you don't know if the damage could be more severe than just the bumper. If he hit something, I'd be having the radiator checked.
I don’t think the defendants were being dishonest at all. There’s somethings that are internal that happen in businesses. They took ownership of causing the damage and tried to repair it. The plaintiff also had a right to not let them repair it and go the court route.
It's amazing how often I can watch these court shows and just based on the intro can pretty much figure out what the outcome is going to be. Either I should become a judge or I just have a hell of a lot more common sense than these fools who show up on these court shows.

Makes you wonder if the owner was hiring workers that are here illegally under the table a lot cheaper than he would have been able to hire Americans. That happened at a couple of factories in the counties around where I grew up before they got busted. That would explain the actions of the owner.

I don't believe the defendant is as honest as he seems. Maybe in this particular case because its tv... but his vibe doesn't match. I think he knew before but she didn't.
Am I the only one who agrees with the judge’s concept of scales of honesty? Lol Like she’s ok with a little white lie, but she’s not ok with outright coverups. I feel like that’s how most people live their lives whether they realize it or not. If my employee was late because the line at Starbucks was long and they claimed, “sorry, traffic” it’s whatever, but if I asked why the till was short and they shrugged like they didn’t know when they stole it that’s a WAY bigger deal, even if they took the money with good intentions.
She was assuming that Juan did the damage but it seems like she didn't even ask who did the damage and didn't ask Juan how he did the damage, were Juan would have said i didn't do it Jimmy did 😅

This case does hurt the stereotype that mechanics are dishonest people but the shop owner was trying his best to make the plaintiff whole and I give credit to him.
I had this happen at an Acura dealer in Canada. Even with having a reverse camera.
The defendant’s wife is AWESOME.
Everyone deserves a second chance. He got suspended without pay. Not everyone needs to be fired on the spot.
No. They don't. Think about that again, lol. 'Sorry' doesn't cover everything.
Yes, the employee made a mistake. But he lied to the boss and tried to cover it up. If he would have told the boss it would have been better.🤔
Unless they are black… yall always have sympathy for anyone not black
He definitely did not deserve a second chance. He tries to cover up mistakes instead of owning up to them.
He deserved a second chance for causing the accident.
He deserved to be fired because he hid the accident and gave a customer a crappy repair job and them his it from his boss. It was totally dishonest
The Defendants were so agreeable at the end. Why not just do the right thing up front? This case could have been avoided.
JM preaches about dishonesty but proceeds to say to the defendant "I fired him even though I really didn't ..."
The fact he wanted to get her car repaired at a Maco shop is reason enough to run far and fast.
What's wrong with Maaco?
Taco shop. They are Mexicans
That employee cost his employer money, time, and headaches.
You don't owe the anything to the client other than fixing the problem.
The judge was all about firing that guy😂
Defendant: "I'm ok with the judgement.
Doug: "lol Well you LOST."
Yeah they didn't fire him. Because he was spanish. 😂😂😂😂 yup.The plantiff is up right. Outstanding lady.
Judge telling them how crazy and dishones it was to not fire him for lying but she would've been okay with saying they fired him but didn't to make her happy 😒 🤔
His lie was at the cost of something tangible... Lying to the lady about him being fired won't hurt neither side.
This Plaintiff is awesome, smart and absolutely RIGHT!
Both of them were good natured.
I lived the plantif!!! She didnt get emotional, justated the facts. Very elegant....
Anyway can't fix stupid...that's why you fire their a##😐
@@wynottgivemore9274it wasn’t Juan, the guy who worked there for 4 years… that’s all I’ll say. I’ve been given second chances for messing up at work and was suspended and came back with a whole different work ethic where now I’m one of the strongest people at my job.
Love the way the plaintiff handled herself
Poor Juan!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Disturbing when a judge leads a litigant's conversation.
First of all...If you don't know what happened to the car, you don't know if the damage could be more severe than just the bumper. If he hit something, I'd be having the radiator checked.
Now no one will wanna take their car to that shop. Knowing now that they didn't even fire the guy that did it. Smh
They should have fired that guy because now the owners look like they are dishonest too
“ Jose”😂😂😂😂😂
🇺🇸❤️🙏🏽judge looking at the bailiff “I’d tell her I fired him even when I didn’t”! HUH WHAT🔥🔥Hey Judge M. Shame shame!!🔥🔥DISBARMENT LMAO LMAO 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏽
He should've definitely been fired. that's ridiculous.
I don’t think the defendants were being dishonest at all. There’s somethings that are internal that happen in businesses. They took ownership of causing the damage and tried to repair it. The plaintiff also had a right to not let them repair it and go the court route.
The plaintiffs hair is giving
8:26 JM is so funny about talking about dishonest ppl
It's amazing how often I can watch these court shows and just based on the intro can pretty much figure out what the outcome is going to be. Either I should become a judge or I just have a hell of a lot more common sense than these fools who show up on these court shows.
I feel bad for the defendant. Hes a really handsome guy but way too nice because that mechanic should have been fired immediately. Not because he damaged her car but because he lied about trying to cover it up.
What does him being handsome have to do with anything? 😂
@@uaintseememaaan8901 ...a lot?
Why would you ever send the same guy that damaged the vehicle in the first place, with the plaintiff to get it fixed properly ?
The defendants didn’t do that.
@@jyfsb8067 No, they just sent the guy that tried to cover for the other employee. Not much better.
@@randys6220 Nowhere in the case did the defendants say Juan was covering for the other employee. He could have not been present when the other guy moved the car. And as far as Juan knew, he may have thought that the owners already explained to the plaintiff what happened since he was told to take her there to fix the car.
@@jyfsb8067 Juan was just acting stupid during the interaction with the customer because he knew what happened knucklehead.
The employee got scared, he made bad judgement, doesn't make him a dishonest, etc. employee. He wasn't malicious in damaging the car.
He was malicious in hiding it
Oh my God this lady is so beautiful 🤗, no disrespect to you husband I was just saying how lovely she is ☺️
Now I bet that guy loses his job.
Makes you wonder if the owner was hiring workers that are here illegally under the table a lot cheaper than he would have been able to hire Americans. That happened at a couple of factories in the counties around where I grew up before they got busted. That would explain the actions of the owner.
Yup Juan’s losing his job when they get back.
It wasn't Juan lmao did you even watch the video.
@@JacobConkin I watched the full video. I just comment as I go.
@@tierralark8418well, you skipped the whole 5 minutes where it was discussed that it was not Juan 😂
You mean Jose? 😆
@@alphawhiskey2922 definitely Jose 😂
I liked the Defendants, but I'm glad the Plaintiff won.
SMH! They are bad owners, and this is a clear statement the some owners has bad disunest working for them all of the time, but Yes, it's about time we get a win for us ✊🏾 good job judge
The lady yawning in the audience.. you couldn't cover your mouth? Lol 🥱🥱🥱
I had that happen to me a few years ago. I went to Sears Automotive to get a new battery. As I watched the kid get into my car he drove into a cement pole!!! I just about died. I started to yell, the employee ran and someone stopped me from entering the employees only area. What a mess, my poor Camero Then they had the b....s to tell me to get them three estimates and present it to them. Yeah, what???? Unbelievable, just goes to show what can and does happen when a car is left at a shop.
I thought every service company has the right to fix their mistakes. Why insist that the employee be fired, he was suspended.
The mechanic from the Defendant's car shop was totally dishonest that he did the damage & should have been fired on the spot for deceiving the Plaintiff. It was on camera. That's proof. The Plaintiff should win. That paint shop was a horrific job.
Thank you, Lord for people with compassion. He will learn more from the second chance hopefully than losing his job. It was fear that made him cover it up it in the first place. The employer actually did the correct thing as long as it never happens again. God bless them all. Juan is who I would have fired...LOL!
Can't fix stupid...
Maaco is a big company. I thought they were gonna say they got a quote from his cousin or something lol
I love The People's Court, but the judge interrupts entirely too much🙄
It's for tv
@@Bebedollie I think it's just her personality 🤔
I say this all the time.
It's her court,,,,was her court. And it was only a 10 /15 minute 20 tops case she needed to get the ball rolling, and there are always these people in the comments that never understand this...plus she read everything ahead of court ,she didn't need anyone to say boo and could have just ruled with no one saying a thing... she gave people an allotted time to speak their case ,not repeat and not answering what she asked instead trying to go back to things that have no bearing on the actual case. Anyway it was her courtroom she could do whatever she damb well of pleased, with in the law of course. I love the old peoples court, with jm, but her knew show sucks big time.
@wynottgivemore9274 it would be awesome if she had a court case about how to use proper punctuations and how to spell small words 😀 🙄
I would not do busy with this guy.
He should have honored it from the beginning.
And you let this guy who was absolutely dishonest continue to work for you.

It was interesting to hear english spoken with a spanish and boston accent 😂
JM says “FIRE him for being dishonest!!” JM then blabs, “tell customer(s) “we fired him” even though we didn’t BUT it makes customer(s) feel better…biz runs on reputation”
wow🙄…WTAF??
Sometimes, we try to do the right thing, but we know don't the right thing to do.
?
I'm sorry but didn't I just hear the judge that she would have FIRED the worker Juan for being DISHONEST about the cover-up paint job BUT under the same breath she was telling the Plaintiff the company should at least fire the worker OR say that worker was fired when he wasn't. Now how is that practicing HONESTY Judge, you can't have it both ways?
It wasn’t Jose? Hahahahaha
I will not trust the company I will never ever go back to that company
He went to maaco 😂
I’m trying to understand if they thought it was so fair why did a judge have to order them to do it. The car was at the body shop and they had parts ordered. Min she said no I rather the body shop do it that’s what should have happened and they could have saved face.
The owner is lying too .If you are a owner of a shop you or your incharge person should be there at all times of the day .Secondly the repair work which is done by the mechanic taken few hours to fix it how nobody knew about it .Lying.......Lying...... ..
Juan definitely knew and was trying to cover for his co-worker.
Of course the Defendants didn't bring Juan to testify.
Glad the plaintiff won.
He definitely should have been fired for lying but I'm all about second chances depending on the circumstances.
I'm guessing he did that because he was on something that day.
I don't believe the defendant is as honest as he seems. Maybe in this particular case because its tv... but his vibe doesn't match. I think he knew before but she didn't.
Like why fire him if he’s scared and seem sorry
Defendants are good people.
Am I the only one who agrees with the judge’s concept of scales of honesty? Lol
Like she’s ok with a little white lie, but she’s not ok with outright coverups.
Somebody's lying.
This lady definitely works in hr or medical records
What makes you say that🤔🤔🤔
Because she's intelligent, lol?
Nah she’s a principal 😂😂
No, accounting 🤔
@@donnabethea8164 dang forgot that one lol

Bruh @ 9:16 these folks have no clue how to answer a direct question
I don't think he should have fired the dishonest worker since he worked there for so many years unless this was not the first time he was put on notice. However you can't blame the plaintiff for not trusting them to repair it (again).
I understand the circumstances, but the business did admit fault and was not trying to weasel out of paying for it! Guess JM felt like she had to be “over the top” like she usually is for sake of her show!! lol!!!!!!
it would have helped if they bought the video, because i think they are still lying about who damaged the vehicle
What Does it matter ..,fault was admitted and justice was provided
Give me my money back!
If I was that lady and had money I will hire I will rent a city bus and put in big banner about the company and what they did to her, we have the internet the internet can bring anybody down any person any company so spread it out in the internet, about how bad that company did to you and they didn't fired that idiot, social media can destroy anything!
