I am so glad your shower looks mine. I watch other cleaning videos and it's either "This Shower Hasn't Been Cleaned In Seventeen Years and Houses Two Generations of Raccoons: Can we Clean It With A Jar Of Mayonnaise". Or someone is cleaning a shower that is already cleaner then mine ever has been and probably ever will be. My shower falls somewhere in between.
seventeen years...generations of racoons...mayonnaise?! i am crying laughing!!!
Hahahahahehehehe! Too funny but also very true!❤
@BVArmstrong YESSSSSSSSSSSS. I really dislike watching cleaning videos where there is nothing to be cleaned.. hahahah!!!!!!!
I think you need to add another catagory for shower cleaning. Spray, wait, rinse, no wiping at all. Let's face it, that's what we all want. My husband bought a Sam's club amount of Scrubbing Bubbles, a product that I felt was worthless. I finally took out the 2 cans and decided to just use it up to get rid of it. I had some areas in my tub that always looked a bit scuzzy, so I just sprayed this. I sprayed it every single time I went into the bathroom . Sometimes rinsing first, othertimes not rinsing at at. To my utter amazement, one spot totally disappears on the textured bottom of the tub and the other spot became significantly smaller ( after using one whole can). There were 2 cans, so I currently am spraying the tub after every shower and sometimes once or twice a day ( still trying to use this up) and the tub is looking great. I would appreciate it when you test tub cleaners if you would also just do this lazy way test. None of us enjoy having to wipe every inch of the tub and textured bottoms really aren't the easiest to scrub. Finding a truly scrub free product is the goal without having to use a whole can of product. Similarly, I really appreciate the tests where you do it according to the manufacturers instructions, but also do it the way we all normally do, which is just spray and wipe with perhaps 30 seconds of wait time.
I love scrubbing bubbles, but I've never thought to do this. I'm definitely going to try this. Thanks!
I will consider this when I do my next test!!
I found the power of scrubbing bubbles when we moved into a house with a nasty shop shower. I didn't think I'd ever get it clean, but just did a little every day with the scrubbing bubbles. It was an amazing transformation! The newer formulas smell much nicer too.
I’ve been using Dawn dish soap forever and always figured the other choices were inferior. But if you like Palmolive, I’m guessing it must be good, plus it costs less than Dawn. I may be switching. I know this video wasn’t about Palmolive, but you mentioned it in the beginning. Thanks a million for showing us these results and for your experience when trying to find out if peanut oil was in Dawn.
-Brenda
I’m glad you found the results helpful! Here is the link to my Palmolive testing: th-cam.com/video/Z3gZlmapLkk/w-d-xo.html
@bhallmark3390 I switched when I found the Palmolive Original was at the local Dollar Tree. Target sells a 70 oz jug of Dawn at $10; $Tree offers 12.6 oz bottle of Palmolive Original which would be 6 bottles (73.8oz) so an investment of $7.50. While I don't like having lots of bottles, I'll take the savings for a product I like a little better...
I appreciate you doing these tests. I use Dawn Powerwash for especially greasy things. It cleans the oven door, my electric cooktop and the drip pans under my elements better than anything for me without a ton of scrubbing. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and can’t do excessive scrubbing. I spray, leave it 5- 10 minutes and then wipe it down.
Thanks for sharing! Glad you found something that works for you!
So glad you did this. I use Dawn Powerwash for kitchen, bathroom, laundry, outdoor furniture, pretty much everything. I have the same type of plastic shower pan and I've found if I leave the product sit there while I clean the rest of the bathroom, 15 min or so, then it works much better at getting through the grime there. Same with laundry stains. I had spaghetti sauce stains on a light pink sweatshirt that had been washed and dried in the dryer and I've been able to get them out by letting the Dawn Powerwash sit on the stain for a few hours.
Thanks for sharing how you use it!
Thank you so much for testing this product. And thanks to those who requested it. This is the one I most wanted to know about.
You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
used dawn powerwash because my husband brought home from Costco during the height of covid- liked the spray- but the cost was nuts- went on youtube and many people were making it themselves- all it was any dish soap (have use palmoltive ) which has been diluted and add alcohol - that was it- it works great with just about every brand I tried - If you like the continuous spray- there are products at the dollar store that come in those kind of bottles (I think a shower cleaner)- just buy that and reuse the bottle and since you reviewed Bucko for the shower- it is my go to- love that stuff
Thank you for sharing! I agree it is a bit costly.
Influencers have convinced people that the Powerwash is just diluted dish soap and alcohol. Honestly, I don't think any of these people have actually looked at the ingredients. Or maybe it's more that misinformation and 'hacks' can go viral whether grounded in any truth or not.
I used dawn for many years. I have since switched to Seventh Generation. I’d love it if you tested Seventh Generation around your house.
I will add Seventh Generation dishsoap to my viewer suggestion list! Thanks!
We use this power wash in our home but we do let it set on the surface to get rid of the stubborn dirt and grime. I don’t use it on dishes mostly pots and pans and above the cabinets that grease and grime that gets up there and it does a great job for me.
I’m glad it works for you!
I would love it if you tested Simple Green.
I will add that to my viewer suggestion list!
@@jennmartin16I'll second that request. I love the way it cuts grease and the non-disinfectant scent.
I just added some rubbing alcohol to a large bottle of Dawn that was partially used. I use it all the time. I have a glass top stove. I pour some of my mixture of Dawn with some baking soda and a little peroxide, put a damp dish towel over it and let sit overnight. Wipe clean in the morning. No scrubbing needed. Love this method. This might help on the shower floor, but I'd be careful with letting it sit overnight.
Thanks for sharing what you use!
Once you get that shower clean, rinse the whole shower with a removable shower head after every shower and you won't have to scrub. For discoloration use hydrogen peroxide. For hard water, use vinegar (not together!). A water softener would help the most. I use Dawn Power spray on dishes with stuck on food. I am using Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaner on my vinyl floor in my "new" house, which is old and has years of grime in the textured pattern. The previous owner probably never mopped. The odor is strong and so I am doing small sections at a time. I love your channel!
Of course if you want it clean yes, for me, I am deliberately getting my shower dirty so I can test products!! Thanks for watching and sharing!
Thank you for the informative video! Is there a product you recommend for cleaning the tub without needing a lot of arm strength? As you said spray, wipe or rub lightly!
I’d like to know this too since I have arthritis in my shoulders 🙏
I’m pretty sure though that any cleaner that doesn’t require scrubbing will be toxic. And electric scrubbers do require arm strength to keep them under control! The best I’ve found is Bar Keepers Friend. Requires only light scrubbing.
Yes. The Bucko. That is my favorite. th-cam.com/video/fvgo71K6ZW0/w-d-xo.html
The Bucko is my favorite th-cam.com/video/fvgo71K6ZW0/w-d-xo.html
You need the shower power wand to clean your shower base…it’s amazing…you can also use it all over the shower but it’s amazing for the base and I do use the Dawn POWER spray in my shower and toilet every week. I love it!
I did a review on one and I really didn't like it!! th-cam.com/video/xrFnb0ayTjc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to see dawn products
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video and the information. I love Dawn Powerwash. I also make my own, but completely realize the amounts differ when I’m measuring/making my own, as far as water, alcohol, and Dawn. It cleans any stuck on food pretty well, with minimal scrubbing. 😊
Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for testing this 👍🏻
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for this test. Dawn has a pretty big social media following! I appreciate that you have brought up details on the contents aspects of this one and the scent. Is it possible to look at the chemical contents from an environmental point of view? i.e. If there are any harmful chemicals that make a better cleaner less beneficial because of the contents? If you prefer not to do this, or it's not your area of expertise, I completely understand. I'd just like to take care of the environment as much as I can and still keep everything clean. Thanks for all you do!!
That is an interesting topic to explore in the future! Thanks!
IF there was peanut oil on the product it would definitely state that on the front of the bottle.
Thanks for this video, especially for talking about the scent.
I cannot imagine buying a product for its intended use that does what simply soaking my dishes for a bit does. Also-I hate these strong odors!
But I suppose if I liked it for one purpose, I might find it handy for others.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Powerwash cuts through grease on our stainless steel pans in which my husband has cooked steak or meats of different kinds, if left to just soak (with just the Powerwash) for 30 mins or more. I've tried soaking them before I discovered Powerwash and it works WAY better. A LOT less scrubbing with the scotch pad. Just sayin'. For some reason I don't mine the scent. I mean, it ain't great, but I don't care.
I really like Dawn dishwashing products. Works well for me.
Glad you found something that works for you!
I use the Powerwash daily, but I mix my own because of the expense. I add lemon essential oil for extra strength and a better scent. It does have a strong rubbing alcohol smell. I reuse my plastic bags and if it had meat of any kind, I spray the Powerwash in and let it sit. It never has a bad odor so I feel like it kills the bacteria (I don't reuse these for food, my husband uses them in his shop.) I also use it with a Magic Eraser to clean my oven doors. It works better for me than anything else I've used. I've never tried it in my shower though.
Thanks for the test, very helpful!
Thanks for sharing!!!
I use Lysol Power clean, cuts through grease and dirt. It smells wonderful! Not sure if it would cause an issue with your allergies.
Thanks for the suggestion, I have a whole backlog of products to test but will add it to my list!
Thanks I just got the Dawn power wash so this is helpful!
Also for the shower floor, I just spray a cleaner with bleach if it's bad and let it sit all day and spray down, no scrubbing. For maintenance, just have to shower off all the soap with hot water every time you finish your shower and it stays clean!
Thanks for your thoughts!
Thank you! Great info!👍👍
Glad you found it helpful!
Great video.
You mentioned having a shoulder injury, and I’m a new subscriber, so if you’ve already tried this and it didn’t work, then I apologize. But you might try this: get a can of lemon furniture polish, the cheap stuff from the dollar store works fine. When I first started doing this furniture polish was cheap! At any rate, make sure it’s the lemon stuff, not the orange stuff. Spray it on the walls of your shower and the glass and the fixtures. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes. 30 minutes is great. Just spray your shower down with a good coat of it when you start cleaning and by the time you get around to the shower it should be perfect. Now just spray down with water. Works for me. Every time. Now I know some people are concerned about cfcs. I don’t know how to get around that. I haven’t seen a cfc free dispenser with the same formulary properties. It’s the surfactants withe the wax- and as a bonus, the wax does help keep the soap scum from building up again. Anyway, for super dirty showers, you might have to do it more than once, I’m guessing it’s because the cleaning product can only cut through so much dirt?but yours didn’t look like the worst. As for the floor of the shower. This will work. But it leaves the shower floor slick. So if you do that, then I recommend taking some comet or some kind of abrasive and doing a quick once over, lightly just to break the slickness of the wax up , and that should work. So if you try this, keep tat in mind and don’t wax up your whole shower and then jump in and slip and knock yourself out! That would be awful! As for antibacterial, I don’t know about that. Of course you could always just spray regular cleaner throughout the week or whatever. And you really only have to do the shower like once a week depending on how many people are using it and how often. Your shower, your call. 😄
Like I said, you may have tried it already. But if not, it’s very helpful to avoid scrubbing.
Thank you so much for this helpful tip! I appreciate you taking the time to share.
@ you’re welcome! I hope it works as well for you as it does for me! 🫶🏼. And thank you for your content. One of the only “cleaning” channels I can stand for longer than 15 seconds!
I tried this in the shower too and never understood the hype - didn’t work well for me either. I’ve never bought it again. I had an apple scented version and it was way too strong for me. Did okay with greasy dishes but nothing water and regular dish soap that’s less expensive couldn’t do. Thanks for another great video!
I appreciate your feedback! It just isn't a product that I will buy again.. just didn't see the hype.
Thank you! I have been looking for Bon Ami and am finding it only at a couple places. I wonder if we have a consumer impact here: FOF shoppers Unite! I do like a couple of things about the Dawn Powerwash, but since I have now located the $Tree Palmolive I am using that! Funny how that works! I don't expect Bon Ami to remove bacteria, I just like it better than the other powder cleansers usually sold...yep, even better than Bar Keepers Friend!
PS I hand it to you FOF, you are really making that house and those dirty teen agers contribute to the household income! Little did they know how their mom could profit by their mere presence and being themselves! Thanks Again for all your efforts here!
I will put Bon Ami on my viewer suggestion list!! We work hard here to create a dirty home to give these products a good fair test!
Dawn Powerwash does come in an unscented colorless version. Have you ever tried Bar Keepers Friend in the shower? They make a spray and a cream formulation. It should budge some soap scum. I have the world's hardest water, it comes from stone aquifers, and I usually have to do vinegar soaks to break limescale up.
I haven't tested Bar Keepers Friend in the shower, I did use it when I made the video about the rust on my stainless steel appliances.
I use regular Dawn and a scrub daddy to clean my shower and it works great, even on my clear glass shower door/walls.
Glad it works for you!
Omygoodness! What was that portable sprayer you used in your shower❓That would be a game changer for me. If and when you have a minute. Thanks
Me to . Would like to know more about the portable sprayer.
I will link the video where I tested it.. personally it is not strong enough for me and I am searing for something else.. th-cam.com/video/a2RNUzZNPfc/w-d-xo.html
I am not a huge fan of it but there is the video about it th-cam.com/video/a2RNUzZNPfc/w-d-xo.html
@@FieldOfFocus thanks for this. I clean houses and one has 2 showers without the hand held.. uuugh I dread them so was hoping this would help as it is small enough to pack along. But thanks again
Saw the camp shower as a shower cleaner - I reccomend trying a water pick. I have sleder doors on my shower. I put down all my dirty towels on the floor, put on goggles, grab an extension cord for the old water pick, an have a few gallons on cleaning solution mixed up on hand to refill my well. I don't use the cleaning water pick for dental care - just what I did with my old model. Kinda messy and slow, but beats scrubbing and is like a mini power washer!
Interesting idea!
Very interesting. TFS!
Thank you so much for watching!
My husband got me a Ryobi power scrub brush set. It works great! I don't care for Dawn. I love Palmolive and also Ajax. Personally I think this power wash is a waste of money when it is the same thing as home made APC with more soap and water. 91 %isopropyl alcohol water and any kind of dish detergent will do the same thing. The Alcohol is what kills the germs. Thanks for testing all these products!
I am not that crazy about Dawn Power Wash. I have found that it doesn't cut grease, and it doesn't leave things smelling great. For me to get anything clean with it, I have to spray it on and massage it in. But I will keep it around to use on little crevices and hard-to-reach places because I can just spray it on and get my Oxo brush on it. Thanks so much for this review. I'll try using it in a different way and maybe it will help.
Thank you for watching and for sharing what you use!
I'm surprised you didn't test grease. Dawn power wash gets grease off my stove like no other.
I will test grease and cleaning my foodi oven once it gets dirty and greasy again! Timing just wasn't right!
Would you be willing to test the refill recipe that people post online?
I will add it to my viewer suggestion list if someone gives me amounts, I do have about 2000 suggestions, so I am doing my best to get through them!
So neat!! Would it be alright if you may test Kaboom to see if it has any disinfecting properties despite not mentioned?
I will add it to my viewer suggestion list!
@ thank you!! Your channel is insanely amazing.
Thank you!!
For shower floors, they get so much grease buildup that personally I have to bring out a scrub sponge, specifically a green one. Brushes just don't touch it. But I've only ever used plain soap to clean my shower, with the addition of Bon Ami for the floor. I'll test this powerwash with the scrub sponge and see how it compares to Bon Ami. I do have to put quite a bit of effort into it, working over one spot for a good few seconds before moving on. I bet if I didn't let so much time go between cleanings, it would be much easier!
Thank you for sharing what you use!
If you would clean weekly, it would be easier. I clean professionally and the showers we do are nearly all smooth fiberglass, so I don't know if you're talking about tile or not. That being said, I use an all purpose spray on the walls and wipe with microfiber cloth. The people who always squeegee their shower walls make cleaning for me SO much easier. I then use a magic eraser on the lower walls and floor for removing soap scum and rinse and dry with a microfiber. It really works well.
@ I deliberately let my shower get soapscum build up to test products.
I would be afraid of getting hubby or kids in to scrub, or even scrubbing too hard myself. Wouldn’t that remove the glossy finish making it more likely to stain worse the next time?I believe that finish also helps make it easier to clean too. I have solved my shower issue by cleaning one small portion of my tub every time I use it. Over a few showers the entire thing has been cleaned. It only takes a minute. I use dish soap, or even a bit of my body wash, much healthier than cleaners! Thank you FlyLady, “Soap is soap?”
I have a shoulder injury so I sometimes need someone with more strength to help out. I deliberately let my shower get filthy so I can test products to see how well they do with a tough buildup.
Do you have a drill brush? Curious if that could help you with scrubbing without aggravating your shower injury
I tested this one and I hated it:
th-cam.com/video/xrFnb0ayTjc/w-d-xo.html
I’m wondering how long you were letting it sit after you spray it. I think the bottle tells you to let it sit for a while.
The directions on the bottle are for dishes.. so hard to compare.. It says to spray wipe rinse... but for heavily soiled dishes sit for a few minutes. the first spray I just sprayed, wiped, rinsed, the second time it sat for a few minutes while I checked my cameras.
Did you let the soap set for any time?
It probably sat for a few minutes while I got my sponge and checked my cameras.
Another great video! I use Dawn Powerwash and love it for tough grease. I agree about the scent, though. -Hate it!
You have many suggestions already, but I have another to add to your list: Irish Spring 5 in 1. Not a traditional cleaning product, but someone on Reddit in the cleaning community noticed that the area under their 5 in 1 bottle in their shower was super clean. They tried cleaning their entire shower with it and had amazing results. Well, it blew up in the comments section and now it's a joke in the cleaning community to try using it for everything! I would love your take on it too! 😄
I do have about 2000 suggestions and I will add yours to it!!!!!!!!
@svgerard what you need to do now is begin a campaign in the comments section to stir other viewers to want FOF to test this item so it can move up the request pile...I personally have never heard of Irish Spring having anything called a 5 in 1...body wash, hair wash, hand wash...conditioner...and what else, shaving cream? I know folks like to put the soap bars in their dresser drawers and shavings of it in the yard to deter wildlife...Curious to know what all this magic thingy is...TIA
@AWanderingEye 😆 Love it!
I just know if FOF were to post an Irish Spring 5 in 1 video in the cleaning sub Reddit, she would have a ton of new subscribers! She's got to hop on that viral train 😅
Dawns Loss❤❤❤ Love your videos. You are amazing! I now use palmolive dish soap,it smells nice also!!
Dawn did awesome with bacteria removal, just not the shower. I have other soaps that I like better! Thanks for watching!
For the floor of the shower you definitely want to use the powder version of bar keepers friend and a scrub brush
Yes of course, but this was testing Dawn Powerwash. I test all sorts of products on this channel!
Good info! For that shower floor try dry borax and that grime will wipe right off! Sprinkle on a dry shower, you can rub with just your hand, or a rag if you want, then just rinse it. All Gone.
Of course an abrasive would be better, but for my channel I test products one at a time and this was just the shower test for powerwash.
Soooo, just out of curiosity, since it sounded like alcohol was the antibacterial trigger, does castile and alcohol in an extended time foaming sprayer or foaming pump thing work the same?
I am not sure since I haven't tested it but can add it to my suggestion list!
@@FieldOfFocus Thanks!
I love Palmalive with Oxy!
Thanks for sharing!
What do you recommend for cleaning the shower?
My favorite shower cleaner is The Bucko th-cam.com/video/fvgo71K6ZW0/w-d-xo.html
I like the Dawn Powerwash for "soaking" dishes without having to fill up the whole pan with water, for greasy stains on clothing, and for cleaning the glass stove top (I let it sit for 5-10 min before scrubbing). I make my own refills though, I can't see paying that much for something that's mostly water. I prefer to add in a bit of vinegar instead of rubbing alcohol.
For a tub/shower cleaner, especially the shower glass, I prefer to use a stronger solution of equal parts Dawn and vinegar, then dilute with 50% to 75% water.
For the textured shower floor, the Comet soft scrub with bleach, combined with a Scrub Daddy, works the best, though I don't love using bleach.
Thanks for sharing! I did test Palmolive with Vinegar for shower cleaner if you are interested in those results: th-cam.com/video/qOu6YXikq1U/w-d-xo.html
Do you have a video where you test different methods for sanitizing scrub sponges? Im curious to see if microwaving it for a bit actually kills bacteria on it
Yes I did make a video about it th-cam.com/video/L-r-C4GEliY/w-d-xo.html
I like how it cleans but it makes me sneeze every time I use it.
Thanks for watching and sharing!
I use Dawn Power wash. I use in my kitchen and I like it for laundry stains. I do scrub and let it set before washing ( laundry). Also I can’t do the regular scent, it burns my nose. I’ve not tried the lemon- thank you for informing of that fake chemical smell. I do like the apple scent- to me not really apple, but it smells fresh. I was so happy to see this video.
I was wondering if Fab Tab was on your list. I have purchased the multi purpose cleaner and the bathroom cleaner. I have a hard time with the scent of the multi purpose cleaner. It’s not a bad scent. I guess I just don’t like it. I don’t know if it kills bacteria. You have me so curious now of all the cleaning products that I purchase. I have some mild COPD. So I do try to be careful. I used vinegar and water for a long time, it just can’t do it all. I really appreciate you and all your hard work! 😓 😊 ❤Thank you so very much!
Hello, I do not have Fab Tab on my viewer suggestion list but I will add it now!
@ thank you, Linda!
It's very good at grease cutting. But, oh, that scent. It's a good thing it doesn't linger.
Can you re-test Palmolive? I noticed their recent packages said they have improved the formula. Looking at the ingredients, they are indeed different from the prior formula. I’m wondering if it can remove bacteria differently than before. Also want your feedback on the cleaning performance of the improved Palmolive. Thank you!
I will add it to my viewer suggestion list!!
Have you ever tested Mr Clean magic erasers?
No I haven't but will add to my viewer suggestion list!
diy refill with 1 1/2 tbsp IPA, 4 tbsp dish soap and water.
We use it to clean ikea matte white cabinets.
Thanks for sharing!
Would love to see A test for the diy version after the original is done
it’s literally just alcohol /dawn /water
I will add that to my viewer suggestion list!
i make my own 100 percent zero fat coconut oil soap and its just as good as the leading dish soap brand, cuts grease and it only has 4 ingredients in it.
Thanks for sharing!
CLR works great on hard water stains
Yes I tested that here: th-cam.com/video/DYT3MS2dgNQ/w-d-xo.html
I'm switching to palmolive since dawn changed the original scent on their dish soap.
I switched to Palmolive about 15 years ago and I am happy with it.
My husband loves it. I hate it. Seems to leave a residue behind so you have to wash and rinse twice
Thank you for watching and sharing! I did need to rinse it well.
You can make it with ANY dish soap, equal parts soap, rubbing alcohol , water. Enjoy save yourself some money have a good day!
Thanks for sharing!
If you use a lot of oil based products then it cleans really well.
Good to know!
I use dawn dish soap in a sprayer with water and alcohol. Kinda same thing.
Thanks for sharing!
Um... wouldn't using peanut oil to make dish soap be kinda counter intuitive?
Right? It was a big thing in the food allergy world over a decade ago.. it never made sense to me.
Can you test DAWN free & clear no scent.
I will add it to my viewer suggestion list!
Curiosity. Have you ever tried any non bleached (hydrogen peroxide base) toilet cleaner like Lysol Lime and Rust Or Oxyclean bathroom? Location I was curious on this if they would effectively clean and clear all debris in the water drain. Since there are some people who aren't able to have Bleach as a cleaner and if Rubbing Alcohol wasn't cutting it for them. Please let me know if you already made a video on this or plan on one. Scientific studies like your videos help me think of items I use at home. Thank you ❤🎉
Here are the videos where I tested H2O2 in the toilet
Hydrogen Peroxide th-cam.com/video/3ytIEzWUpws/w-d-xo.html
Lysol Hydrogen Peroxide th-cam.com/video/cwno4ElNNF4/w-d-xo.html
Try it on the shower or anything scummy again but wait! 5 minutes or so to let the alcohols in the product penetrate - makes a world of difference - it cuts the grease! Anything greasy dusty combo it is amazing. ( think items that sit on top of cabinets over the stove) It also gets rid of orange ( taco/ chili/ spaghetti) on plastic.
Thanks for your thoughts!
Awesome
Thanks for watching!
Dawn power wash has rubbing alcohol in the ingredients. Thanks for testing.
Yes, I mentioned that in the intro of the video.
@@FieldOfFocus I thought Dawn Powerwash had denatured alcohol... are they similar?
You need an acidic cleaner to break down soap scum and hard water but Dawn PowerWash is alkaline.
It just didn't work in my shower, there are lots of other products that work!
I prefer the lemon scent over the supposedly Free and Clear version
Oh does the Free and Clear have a scent?
@@FieldOfFocus Yes, suppose to be pear but it's gross
well I guess I'll keep my bottle, at least for the kitchen/bathroom, but I didn't find it effective on the tub either
I will use it until it is empty, maybe before that I will do a grease test on it..... but for tub, nope it just didn't work well for me.
It was awful to inhale, I had to hold my breath, and I’m not allergic to anything.
I didn't like the scent either.
I was told that Dawn Power Wash would clean my Air Fryer!!! It DOES NOT!!! remove the grease!! I have tried it twice, and no luck!!!
I haven't tested it on an air fryer but I was going to test it on my air fryer... maybe I will pass on that.
Thanks for this video. I like Powerwash for some things, but the smell is awful. They also changed the fragrance of their original dish soap. Too strong. I might be switching.
There are lots of scents available, not just one.
Thanks for watching! I didn't think to purchase other scents... just got one. Some love strong scents, others not so much!
I'm not sure why YT suggested this video to me, but I found it disappointing.
I love all the Dawn products (I use the dish detergent, the Powerwash, and the professional degreaser). The Powerwash is NOT just the dish detergent and alcohol (especially since the first ingredient in the dish detergent is dentatured alcohol)l! It would have taken 2 minutes to look at the ingredient list. The ingredients of the dish soap and powerwash are very different.
I will say kudos for clarifying that none of the Dawn products claim to disinfect, but you also didn't mention that your experiment doesn't tell you whether any of the bacteria was pathogenic or not. As for cleaning the shower, get a product meant for that. I'm not sure why anyone would assume that a product formulated to clean dishes would be a good shower cleaner. (Magic Eraser would be a much better choice for the soap scum on the shower floor.)
Sorry to disappoint you with my video. I test viewer requests and this was just that a request. Correct I do not go further and identify if bacteria is pathogenic. We can assume most bacteria is environmental, especially since no one in my home has a bacterial infection. For my channel I test products to see if their claims match my results, and I test products that viewers ask me to test, as well as review cleaning tools. Again sorry to disappoint you and sorry the algorithm suggested my video to you.
It must be the alcohol.
@@andreagardner2335 soaps that I have tested (Palmolive, Dr Bronners, Sal Suds) do pretty good at removing bacteria. Here is the link to my Palmolive testing: th-cam.com/video/Z3gZlmapLkk/w-d-xo.html
Would using just alcohol do as good a job of removing the bacteria as using the Dawn Power Wash?
I have tested 91% Alcohol and Purell which is alcohol based, will paste links here:

@ thank you.
Dawn changed the formula. It used to be much better.
Thanks for sharing!
Stop using bar soap and only use liquid soap in your shower… almost no soap scum!
I want soap scum so I can test products
