Successfully replaced window regulator in 03 Odyssey, and your video was a huge help. Biggest hurdle for me that wasn't included in the video: When I first put the regulator in the door, it wasn't at the right height for the glass to sit on and access the bolts through the holes. My old regulator would slide up and down, but not the new one. I connected the power source to the motor, and still nothing. I didn't realize for a while that the power to the window switch on the armrest also had to be connected to get it to work. Once I did that, I easily adjusted the height and finished the job.
Thanks this helped! Some hints for those that read this before tackling the job: 1.You have to plug in the window switch for the door you're working on to test it. I replaced the passenger side regulator and tried operating it with the driver's side switch without the passenger side switch connected (No worky). 2.Be sure to have the door handle rod and the wire/connectors in place before popping the panel back in place. 3.If you're doing the job after work and using a drop light the handle above the passenger door makes a handy place to hang your drop light.
To bad i did not read post earlier. My install took me 2 days. after the initial uninstall and re-install the window motor did not work. went to bed, started again the next day, I eventually got it working because I did hook up the second controller on day two.
I want to thank you A1 Auto. This video was a BIG help. I'm 63 year old woman who hasn't done mechanics in a VERY long time. AND, I haven't ever dealt with door repair. Your video was detailed. I would like to add to your advice, things I hit along the way. This is a two person job, because of the window. When sliding down the window, make sure both sides are equal on the top of the bracket. The window won't go down to the holes to mount the window onto the regular. A smidge off, no go. I read in the comments from a gentleman about the different sizes of the screws. To prevent a mix up, I painted screw sets as I went in to make it easier coming out. And for the be at time I have to fix my window again. Outside of the window, the door lock latch was a pain. I had to loop a thin rubber head band around it on order to get it to line up. A thin rope/thread or fishing line will also help with his problem. I started at 11:15, ended 3:00. I took my time to make sure that I did everything correct, and not too break the window. Thank you A1Auto for all you help.

Appreciate the video. For a 2004, I had to take the mesh off the speaker (flat head did the trick) and there were two Phillips screws I had to unscrew to loosen the panel. Other than that, video is spot on for 04s
I also had the issue of the window bring stuck at the bottom. I just clipped the two cables coming from the small motor, and after that, it was simple. Total time (removal and replacement) just shy of 90 min. That included a beer break. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. This really helped out. I will keep you in mind in the future.
I just did the mechanism on my 1999 Odyssey (THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!), and I have some experience to share that is not in the video. I found that there are three screws around the speaker in the door panel, holding the panel to the door. So you need to pop the speaker grill off (there's a small indentation at the rear to put a screwdriver and pop the rear end of the grill off) to access those screws. Mine tore out, since I didn't know they were there. After I yanked off the door panel, I found that some of the pop-out buttons didn't pop out of the door, but tore out of the panel. So I would recommend either getting a plastic door panel removal tool (Cheap at Harbor Freight) or wrapping a large flat-head screwdriver in electrician's tape and use that to help pry out the snaps. Also, on my 1999 Odyssey, there was no "Control Box" as in the video. The plug to the window motor was fastened inside the door with a pop fastener. The new (Dorman) mechanism's plug lead was a little different and fastened to the outside wall of the door. No biggie. Lastly, if your Odyssey is as old as mine is: be careful! The plastic behind the armrest/window switches/door handle gets VERY brittle and breaks easily. I cracked mine in several places.
Once again 1A Auto and youtube save the day!! I can't even begin to count on both hands how many times these videos have helped me in trouble shooting, repairing or just verifying how something should be done on my vehicle, or just about anything I have to put a wrench to. This video was a great help in showing me how to remove and replace the power window regulator. The job went smooth as silk. Thanks for the virtual help.. CC
Great video, I couldn't have done this without it. My only suggestion is to not ignore his brief comment about the cable connection; you'll need a sharp pair of linesman pliers to cut that cable. I went through 3 pairs of wire cutters before I cut it with a hacksaw blade. It didn't hurt to have some latex caulk to reapply the rain sheathing. The Philip screws were four different sizes, keep track of which goes where.

Thanks. Save me at least $300 by doing myself. On a 2004 Honda Odyssey passenger side replacement I had to remove 3 screws on the speaker to get the door panel off.
Great video. Second time I have had to do this. First was on passenger side and I used the same video. Only difficulty is the new motor assembly I purchased from AutoZone (couldn’t get this from 1A Auto as I have other parts because of a time constraint) did not have the orange clips that popped the connectors into the metal bracket. Had to break apart the old connectors to get the old clips off. And, the new motor doesn’t have the auto window functionality like the original. No biggie. But I love 1A parts if I have time to wait, and think your videos are great!!!
Thank you, thank you. This is a great clip to save many people's time and money. One question is that how does the window glass connect to the part of the regulator? Does the glass sit on the part of the regulator? Or.. Your video looks like that once the window is down after replacing the regulator and motor assembly, it just automatically connects to the part. I am curious.
Thanks for watching. There will be some tabs that are bonded to the bottom of the window. Those bolt to the regulator assembly. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thanks you so much for providing this video. I needed to get this repaired as soon as possible. So I didn't purchase it from your website. Sorry! I looked on your web site for 2003 Accord hood struts, and you didn't have the year.
I tried following these instructions and got stuck at the step where you're supposed to manually lift the window up to line up the 10mm bolt (around the 3:30 in the video). I cannot lift the window higher than a quarter of the way up. Any ideas how I can lift it higher to line up the bolts to the hole? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The cable on the regulator may be jammed preventing the window from moving. If you free up the cable, you should be able to move the window up and down. hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

My 2004 odyssey passenger seat is de window is not responding at all. Driver side works fine. I thought I had lost the window but it actually just fell inside. I see that cable holding it up was retracted and was tightly hanging on by the top roller. Do I need a new regulator or can I pull the cable and somehow fit it back in? Is the motor dead?
This was really helpful I was able to do the job completely , much easier than I anticipated. When lifting the window glass out it wouldn't go all the way up, I got around by unbolting the motor and cutting the bottom cable to free it, luckily I had some good cutters for this. In my opinion this is a step that's missing from the instructions, that cable doesn't move freely with new motors either. So maybe with this installation the cable is already broken? In a previous comment another user had same issue an the response was to free the cables, I assume this means to cut the cable? I noticed when I installed the new regulator the window holder wouldn't slide I was a little worried that I would have to power it to get it into correct position. until I realized it was preset at the position for you to install the window.
I'm in the process, have to order the regulator for 2003 Odyssey. One question though - How does the regulator pull the window down? I understand how it pushes it up, but there must be a force that pulls it down other than gravity. does the regulator latch on to it some how?
My window is stuck all the way up how to make it go down, i cannot take off the volts for where the thing attaches to the wibdow, thought chopping the cable but most likely break the window if you have tips let me know
Hey Mike. Question, why is it I can't find info on how to replace my sliding door glass on my Odyssey? This info is not on the internet or even in the Odyssey hanes repair manual for that matter. My only issue is the three screws behind the speaker grill were not removed. They will pop out but hard to see how they're going back in when replacing the door panel. Remove speaker grill and take out three screw behind grill before popping door panel off.

ok
don't want to be "that guy" but I'd change the title to 99-04, not 99-03.
My window is all the way up. How do you get it down to expose the 2 10MM bolts? I have tried a little muscle but it won"t budge.
You have to lower it 5-6 inches to expose the bolts. If you can't lower it, you'll have to cut the cable.
