Before I even watched your video, I knew it was going to be Boston haha
I live in Boston and I absolutely cannot stand all of the sounds that go on. It's like they assume everyone is deaf.
I mean, these are literally accessibility features specifically designed for the deaf and the blind. This is very tame compared to modern European trains, they have a different sound effect for everything, even the toilet door talks to you. You get used to it.
There were not as many beeps with older trains
@@kat42069 I agree there must be accessibility features for the deaf and blind. I have also been to metro systems in New York, London, Paris and Beijing, and none have anywhere this many beeps. And ottertechnology is right, old trains did not have nearly as many beeps, as do all other cities trains, new and old.
I don't know why there needs to be so many beeps!
When the doors open on both sides like here, it starts two separate repeating beeps, one for each side. You got lucky that they synced up with each other.
If you're unlucky, you'll be listening to two separate, unsynchronized beep tracks. I'll let you imagine how that sounds.
It's even worse when they don't sync
It could always be worse. You could be getting PSAs with Boston accents. “Step into da train cah”
And yet, you have cell phone connection between stations underground, and free wifi at many stations.

I’ll pick the Boston subway or trains over NYC’s subways’ disgusting and unsafe service in a heartbeat any time. Give me all the sounds and blinking lights!
More like the worst subway system in the U.S. LOL....People thought I was lying when I said stop complaining about the MTA and that its better than what I dealt with in Boston. The issue with the MBTA is they haven't updated their tracks in years, safety issues with workers and equipment so they're getting a lot of pressure from the FTA to fix everything. There was so many speed restrictions "slow zones" but slowly the system is getting better. What sucks is they're shutting down certain parts of certain lines in the system and replacing them with shuttle buses for long period times like the Red Line this week. Thats something I don't miss when coming home. I did ask my friend who works for the MBTA about the sounds and he said its to guide the visually impaired.
I think they should add a constant cartoon music in the trains
"Folks, the next stop for this train is Park St; for those of you exiting the train, please remember to bring all you're belongings when you exit the train! The destination of this train is Government Cernter!"

In Philly, you cant even understand the announcements-for the stops. The speakers are bad quality and the engineers/drivers make no attempt at saying them clearly. Mumble rapping every stop. And the cars and stops aren't really ever cleaned

Yea, its definitely taking the ADA too far...
Those new Orange Line trains have generated many complaints (when they finally went into service, years-late; same builder as the new Red Line cars, also years-late.) Terrible bench seats, mechanical problems, etc.
No surprise it's CRRC. They're so bad that SEPTA canceled their order for bi-level cars for regional rail use, because they've been on order since 2017 and received absolutely nothing at the time of the contract cancellation (2024).
Those beeping sounds are nearly as annoying as a Donald J Trump speech. Just nearly!

Is it safe for people prone to epileptic seizure? Albeit compared to NYC MTA look years ahead in cleanliness and innovation of infrastructure.
The last time I took the T there was smoke in the adjoining car as we entered Quincy Center. Our car did not make it fully into the station and the doors would not open. People in the smoke car were jumping down from between cars to get out as the main doors did not open. They opened our doors. When we got to the front of the station we saw 5 or 6 transit workers and cops talking in a circle completely oblivious to the crisis at the end of the train.
I have never seen more indifferent and incompetent workers. This was the same day a much bigger incident happened on an Orange Line train and someone jumped off that one from a bridge. I don't use them any more.
I call BS. You’ve never been to Boston. What you typed never happened. My friend works for the MBTA. I read your comment a while ago and I called her to confirm your story. Everyone knows where they were that day (7/22/22) and what happened on every line, including the Red Line, and I can confirm your made up story does not have any validity.
