  • I'm making a two-colour gum bichromate over cyanotype print of an image I shot in Japan, back in 2001. The original was shot on 4x5 HP5 film. This print is being made with two digitised negatives. One that has been tailored for the cyanotype process, and the other for the gum bichromate process. Hold on to your hats, as it moves quickly!

Very nice. What would you sell that for ( GBP) ?

This actual print was gifted to a friend down in California, for a book that he had written. But this type of print at exhibitions usually goes for $300 Canadian. You'd have to convert that to GBP. I also exhibit in Japan, which sees even higher prices, sometimes double. I haven't exhibited for a decade now, as I grew a bit tired of that scene. I'll start that up again at some point, though. Thank you for commenting! Cheers!

@@analogueandy8x10 A bit expensive (all relative) but if I had the money and you had the print I'd be sending money your way. Well done on real art.

How I make a color gum? Could you give me any idea, please?

A tri-colour gum? You will need three negatives. Separated from a colour image. One for red, yellow, blue. Using digital negatives from an inkjet printer is easier. The print in my video is only two colours, from one negative, called a gum-over. The first printing is a cyanotype (blue), then yellow gum layer. Of course, you can use any gum over colour you like. Look online for tutorials how to make tri-colour gum, if you are interested.
