    Didn’t think I’d have to write a disclaimer but I guess I was wrong.
    In this video, we are NOT laughing at those getting injured. We are NOT laughing at those getting in accidents.
    Not excusing our laughter, however, laughing is a common coping mechanism in uncomfortable situations. We would never wish this on anyone, nor would we laugh at those getting injured.
    Stay cautious on the roads and drive safe. ❤

    I don't understand why you thought it was funny at first... I'm a professional truck driver. I might see things WAY before you do... We save families everyday just because the general public is not educated on how our "not truck" works... We don't stop when you cut us off( We don't leave all that space in between vehecles to be nice, we don't want to crush your family) 🙂

    first thing that has to happen to avoid these big-ass situation is truck drivers need to start using the CB radio like we used to. We used to talk to each other or talk to the people going the other direction let them know what was ahead of them if something was going bad you could have worn them and they would slow down ahead of time. The second solution is everyone needs to pull their head out of their ass slow down and drive appropriately for the condition people are getting ridiculous on bad roads.

      Majority of trucks these days don’t have one I do & I use it but feel it should be a Must have piece of equipment on every truck we have a increasing amount of Foreign drivers out here now & they are the cause of a lot of these Pileups because of driving too fast plus I see a bunch of them playing with their phones going down the road cars are included as well with the texting & driving in bad conditions it’s just best to check weather by googling it & this case get on tripchek look at the cameras if it’s bad enough you can’t see it’s bad enough to Park it all these pileups can be avoided if people would either pay attention & slow down or plain stay off the road

    I was in the middle of this pile up, but saw it coming and took the shoulder. Vehicles were passing me way too fast so I Drove on the shoulder to the next LeGrand exit.
    People, is listen to me, I drive 18 wheels. I drive barefoot so I can feel the road beneath my feet and I felt the slip, so I slowed way down. People passed me at high speeds, even after I pulled to the shoulder.
    If you see a semi truck suddenly slow down or swerve, there is something ahead that you cannot see. Follow the truck, copy it. The driver has his reasons. I didn’t get hit at all, but the pileup continued from Pendleton to Baker City.

    • @schwazman1
      @schwazman1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Um, no it didn't. The actual crash was for about 2-3 miles. The road was closed westbound from La Grande to Pendleton, then backed up to Baker City, and then to Ontario as available parking diminished. And, the incident was on the westbound side of the freeway. Not the eastbound side. So I'm curious why you drove on the shoulder when the road was open on your side if you were truly going to La Grande.
      And people driving without chains, or "barefoot" are the reasons why these crashes happen in the first place.

    Looks like most of those semi truckers saved their Rigs from damaged or being hit by others by driving into the median.. 👍 never fails... four wheelers in there four by fours and all-wheel drive vehicles thinking they're invincible too icy road conditions.. anytime a semi in front of you suddenly slows down you know something's wrong especially in inclement weather.. why you have to ALWAYS remind these grown adults (like children) behind the wheel to slow down, drive responsibly & pay attention on the road during icy conditions is truly baffling..

      Over 70% of freight is moved by trucks in the US. Trucks are all over our highways and interstate system. I don't like it when I have to travel from Virginia to Indiana a few times a year because of the large number of semis traveling that route, but if truckers were to strike people would starve and the economy would be in jeopardy, so we have to tolerate them.

    • @moorek1967
      @moorek1967 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisb.1214 Yeah, truck drivers are all stupid uneducated white men, right? You don't have to "tolerate" them, you need to appreciate them. And the economy is far past in jeopardy, it was destroyed the second people said they should sit at home and still get paid, because we all know getting paid for not working is working smarter.
      Do you know why the supply chain is so lacking? Because nobody wants to go to work and produce anything. Money comes out of thin air. It is the lack of produced consumer goods, coupled with the fact that no one wants to go to work that causes economies to tank.
      You need to have a very healthy system of producing consumer goods along with more people actually working therefore more people spend for those consumer goods so then everyone gets paid.
      THAT is how a real economy should work. Unfortunately, we live in a society that doesn't understand the basic idea of Socialism as a destructive mechanism, instead they want money to be given for no real work, they want the benefits without the effort.
      You should be sitting there thanking God for the more semis you see, because they are the ones working.

    Oregon dept of transportation mandated COVID-19 vaccine for all employees and thousands quit. I drive in Oregon over mountain passes every day hauling fuel to central Oregon and it has been a nightmare during these storms. There are very few plow truck drivers and this is the result of abject totalitarian foolishness. How is this safer than a non vaccinated plow truck driver! It got so dire our governor had to lift the mandate because the roads were such a nightmare and many times impassible. But it's too late, they are having very little luck attracting employees and so the warnings have gone out, due to a lack of manpower the roads are very often dangerous please be careful. Nice. Is this all the fault of the governor, absolutely not, but she is to blame for 3rd world driving conditions in many instances. Unintended consequences of fools!

    I’ve been on the road since 1987 on and off and that would never happen to me not because I’m a better driver but I’m smarter I don’t run up and anybody or drive up close behind anybody especially if it’s snowing I’ve been to every state except Alaska I don’t see the reason for that ever happening if you’re driving and somebody eat up the space in front of you back up let them go and if they do it 20 times still let them go it’s to your benefits

    This is why The State Department Of Transportation advises you to AVOID TRAVEL during Winter Weather Events if possible. If one must drive, slow down big time & increase following distance. Until mankind develops a chemical concoction; that prevents snow from accumulating on roadways WITHOUT destroying your tires or the road surface or damaging the echo system via poisoning animals, I suggest you go before or after NEVER DURING. Death or injury & property damage awaits you. Proceed with caution.

    As a truck driver. I understand why people hate truck drivers. Most of them are aggressive and speed far too much. Nothing is worth anyone's life. Slow down, 10 second following distance, and get off that stupid headset...you're not a stockbroker.

      No they can’t. This is a bad stretch of road here. Happens all the time. I wouldn’t even attempt this in winter. It’s bad enough when the weather is good.
