Yay! This was the part that kept me from even starting this blanket. I’m such a visual learner-the written directions just made my eyes cross. Thank you so much-you’re the greatest ❤️❤️
Thrilled to discover this video! I'm ready to start joining the circles, and was dreading it! Thank you so much. (Big fan of your work - my favourite so far has been the Fruit Garden in bamboo yarn - the videos for that were amazing).
Can't thank you enough for the lovely video! This made me so excited to join all the circles I have made!! LOVE the pattern, and the video is a great bonus! Thanks from New Mexico!!!!
So glad you are doing videos!. Hope there may be a few Bohemian Blooms ones to come. I’m 90 percent done but just cant quite find the way to finish it all and there have been a few stumbling blocks… and i have made Lily pond, Persian tiles and Frieda’s Flowers .. plus Magic Circles so am a big fan !
I just made all the circles, “a piece of cake”…next is to connecting the pieces... no, not easy at all. And the yarn is so dark and beautiful violet, need proper lightning, too. This video was very helpful! Thanks!
Please don’t think I’m criticising or suggesting intellectual theft. This work reminds me of the gifted Kaffe Fasset’s work. Form and colour so wonderfully combined - just superb.
I really hate cutting the yarn and "hidding" the end after you make a knot.. soooo I always look for ways to avoid doing that. That being said, in this case I woudl have done this: First, do 6 small circles joining the as to get the space to insert 2 big circles. Second, start joining the first circle from the marker that is in the middle of the piece. Third, join the big circle as depicted in the video but don´t cut the yarn at the end. Fourth, do 3 slip stiches to go to the inside of the space for the second circle Fifth, join the big circle as depicted in the video and now you have to cut your yarn. Cutting yarn is unavolidable but this way its minimized!!!
This vid is helpful but I still have problems with the slip stitches as I’m a leftie. I also find the first double-treble stitch after the join to be quite loose even when I pull the yarn tightly, so any tips are welcome. I loved Carla’s suggestion for doing two large circles in a row to avoid cutting the yarn - less ends to weave in. I’m currently trying to figure out if I can avoid cutting the yarn between each small circle join. To do this, I’d need to start with the chain or the join, and I’m not sure it’s even possible.
I’ve just found out that starting with the slip stitches to join is possible. However it confers no benefit as the yarn still needs to be finished off and cut before proceeding to the next small circle. That said, I’ve now worked out the slip-stitch join. 😊
I think you could but you’d have to ensure to keep it slightly open, as the ch7 gives you a deliberate hole in the middle. If you close the ring it will affect the tension.
All videos can be slowed done: it's just a matter of finger tapping onto to your hand held tablet, onto the ICONS that pop up. Get someone in yr family to show you, it's so simple, once shown, you never forget: WARNING:: you must reverse all the steps, to normal program, IF YOU DON'T, EVERY VIDEO you watch WILL REMAIN IN SLOW MOTION: Very easy to do: This is the perfect tool for all handicrafts:

Hi I recently purchased your pattern magic circles it’s beautiful blanket just a quick one can we do magic ring instead of 7 single crochets?
I think you could but you’d have to ensure to keep it slightly open, as the ch7 gives you a deliberate hole in the middle. If you close the ring it will affect the tension.
Wow, thanks ❤
Fabulous 🥳❤️
