I would find myself a Mopar C-Body, take it to a show, and stand out above all the rest. I like having something different; I'd take this one over a '68 Charger any day. You see '68-'70 Chargers everywhere; it seems as if everyone has one. That Polara is sweet! Yes it is!!!
My 3rd car, but first I was old enough to drive was a 1968 Polara. 2 dr, 383, 727. Green, black vinyl top, black interior. Your vid sure brought back some memories.
Okay now I have another channel that features guys getting these super nice old cars that I can completely be envious of. These have a unique style that was kind of daring. It being a 1968 really appeals to me because that was my year. 4 wheel drums, oh wow. BEAUTIFUL ole gal.
Good lord !! I had the same car in high school in the late 70’s. I’d give anything to have it back. That ole saying, if you knew then what you know now.
My first car!! Mine was same color and vinyl top, but with a 383. I liked the looks, but one negative is the appearance of the brake lights/rear signals. They were a bit difficult to see, especially when the sun was shining. Thank you for the video-I was looking to see if I could find a car model kit of the same car to build, and found your video..
The tow yard next door to my work has one in there yard tht will be going to auction. It's in doable shape. May just have to go to the auction. Great looking cars. 👌
Looks like a good " surviver " Years ago I had a 68 coronet two door hard top ( 318 two barrel ) metallic gold w/ black vinyl top . It was a " surviver too ( beautiful car ... I miss it )
I had a good buddy who had a 68 Polara. It always took him about 5 minutes to get it started. I loved the sound of that starter! Anyone else like that?
I didn't like the looks of the 67 and 68 model either for a while..but I warmed up to it. I really like it now..especially that trim line in the rear quarters. It just screams 60s...like something you'd see from Get Smart. it's unique. Dodge puts a lot of character in their cars
HA, when I was a kid, one of the neighbors down the street had the exact looking car, minus the yellow hi beams. 318 I think on the column. My uncle on the other hand had a red with white top 67 Monaco with red interior and console. Poly 318 equipped
WOW! I thought this was my car that I sold! I bought it in PA 8 years ago, from the original owner...had it trucked to OR. When I sold it, it went to Germany! That was a bitchin' car...
I owned the 4 door model of this beast. All 212" of it. Off-white paint, underbody coating that kept the rust off of it, even living for several years on a barrier island in Texas. The firewall harness is a mess, causing me nothing but grief with charging, it kept burning out regulators. I never did get that sorted out until well after I sold it. 383 cubes, HUGE muffler, it was a big pussy cat, you didn't hear me sneaking up behind you until a hit the horn! An immortal air conditioner compressor, I never, EVER had to add gas or do anything with to it. Yours looks a bit naked without whitewalls. Mine sure didn't. The hubcaps I enjoyed, but kept spinning on the rims and cut valve stems. I had to stay on top of that or I'd be stuck changing flats. All that chrome tho, I burned through bottles of chrome polish to see my mug in those bumpers, and it showed while cruising down the main thoroughfare. I got 150K miles out of her before I was forced to sell, her valves and rings were starting to let oil blow past them, and the electrical was getting bad. So she left my life after putting me through high school.
I had a '68 polara 2 door with the 318. It was nice, but I put in the Monaco taillights to improve the looks and wish l could have had a 383 to stick in it to make it actually fun to drive.
well this video was good make that dam good that closing line made me laugh and your relaxed feeling when you drive and talk about the car those yellow lights seen those way back when but are the stock also love the long rear lights in the back do they show all the way or are they mostly reflector if that makes sense thanks
I`m buying one from my best friend, same car but in a darker green color. 103,000 original miles, like SHOWROOM condition, auto, 318, but it has no air. But for 4,000 bucks, I`ll take it!
I picked up mine in 1975 - cost me 700 from a shady used car dealer. I was 16 used my summer job savings to buy it. I was the only kid in grade ten to have his own car so it became the party car. We'd gather up money for gas which back then was like 70 cents a gallon which was about what we came up with. The thing is it was our escape from "parents" and boring middle class homes - it was our freedom. Its funny because now people ignore these working class cars - everyone wants the GTO or Shelby or super bee but how fake are these folks - none of us (if we're honest) could afford those silly cars back then - those "rich" cars belonged to the rich spoiled kids or people tring to act rich and show off - we'd laugh at those posers back then for being such status quo followers - this car was a real working person's car - not fancy - not fast - but it got you there and you had tons of fun with friends - a good life - a simple car - a girl by your side and a simple lifestyle - less is more : )
What ever happened to this car? No follow up video? Big old girl's begging for a 440. Maybe pull a motorhome lump and do a rebuild with high compression pistons and some good heads?

A neighbor of mine once had this...and she was the principal of one of my old elementary schools in Pasadena!
