Congratulations to Alice! Great video. In one of Simone's interviews she said that it was a very strange atmosphere of silence at the beam final. The althetes had asked for music to be playing in the background but didn't get it. Gymcastic said that there was actual shushing from audience members. She asked a French person what was going on. That person said that beam is considered an art form in France and the audience should be silent like as if in a museum. It seemed to rattle the athletes who are used to a sports like atmosphere with cheering and music in the background. One of the girls said that it was so silent you could hear the flashing of the cameras and cell phones going off. Alice must have nerves of steel.
Simone is a pathetic, narcissistic loser. Blame the silence? A true champion can perform under ALL conditions. Maybe she should have done more practicing in SILENCE, so she would have been better PREPARED!
Many of the videos used for the comparison with older exercises were actually performed by her twin sister Asia. Alice doesn’t do the side somi, Asia does. Alice doesn’t do the switch 1/2, Asia does. 1984: Mary Lou Retton was the 1rst American Gold medalist in women's gymnastics.
2024: Alice D'Amato became the 1rst American Gold medalist in women's gymnastics.
This was the worst event finals day at the Olympics I’ve ever seen. Congrats to the winners who did there job. If I had tickets I would have left disappointed.
If I was with you,I'd make you feel like you
If I would ask you out,I'd need help!
I
These competitions are ridiculous. She did not fall on the ONE day it mattered. That does NOT make her the BEST! Her low difficulty routine is hardly worthy of a GOLD MEDAL! 😔😩
@@funshine817 respectfully, on that day, it does make her the best. It is part of the game to handle the pressure and perform in the competition. I agree with you that there are better gymnast in the world on Beam. if they competed and did the finals all over again, there’s a good chance the results would all be different. On that day, she performed the best. Thanks and all my best.
@@funshine817 it is the same in many sports. The World Series in baseball, the Super Bowl in football, the World Cup. Even the best teams may be defeated if they have a bad day on that day.
@@OLYMPIANTEACHES-bh6gp Yes, and I feel the same way about those and all competitions. But, it is what it is. I am just glad I don't like to compete. 🤣
Whenever an Olympic gold medal is won due to another competitor making a mistake, it just doesn’t feel right. I want everyone or at least the top medal contenders to hit their routines. THAT should decide who wins and not someone messing up. The bars and vault finals were amazing for example, as opposed to the awful beam and floor finals. Sure, Alice deserved gold on that day, but it’s definitely not a final I wanna watch again. And the winning routine will definitely not be added to the greatest Olympic beam routines of all time.
@@mariusa.5863 Exactly
I loved that Alice brought the first gymnastics gold to Brazil and was celebrated by Simone and Suni! What a beautiful tribute to athletics and sportsmanship ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🇧🇷
She’s from Italy 🇮🇹
È italiana ... dettagli 😅
Yep, sorry about that 🤦♀️🤷♀️😉
Undeserved
When there are so many mistakes by the favored gymnasts, you never know what is going to happen. most would not consider Alice to win but also most would not think Simone, Suni and Zhou would all fall or have major mistakes. The beam final was very all over the place.
She still has the gold medal around her neck, cry more
Her movements on the beam are far more elegant than the other athlete's and she hasn't fallen off the beam. It's called balance beam, you know. The most important thing is to have balance
I believe it's 100% deserved being the one who completed fhe routine without major mistakes which others did. Being the most popular and the most expected to win doesn't mean you deserve to win.
First rule of the balance beam, don't fall out of the balance beam.
