The different Taste is due to butyric acid. it's a compound found in milk products and is also present in rancid butter and vomit, which is why it might evoke a "sick" taste association. Some American chocolate manufacturers add butyric acid during production to give the chocolate a longer shelf life.
I'm in Texas, and mango con chile is totally a thing here. I use it on my rides. It's not sticky, it doesn't melt, and depending on the brand, it's very high in sugar and sodium
Brilliant video. I liked hearing your take on American sweets. The Twizzlers was the best-smells great, tastes like bread. I laughed multiple times throughout this.
Stuffed a couple of Twinkies in my jersey pocket for a road race in college. Didn’t have to warm them up by shoving them up the leg of my shorts to warm them up like we had to with the original Powerbars back in the day.
What happened to good old fruit and minimal processed foods? These candies don't provide much vitamins and minerals. I carry oranges, bananas, and dates on mostof my rides. Also, a lot of the questions you guys were asking could've been answered by reading the nutrition facts label. thanks for the entertaining content as always.
USA Licorice fan here. Wiley Wallaby is the best, way better than Twizzlers. Almost all the flavors are amazing. The black tastes great and the hot cinnamon is one of those things that sounds awful but is yummy. They also make a 1g sugar options. Yum Earth is another good licorice. For rides, my go-to is the Yum Earth as they are less sweet. For whatever reason, about 5-10 individual pieces is perfect for me for a ride. FYI - A lot of American candy contains ingredients that are banned in other countries (titanium dioxide) or terrible for you (corn syrup). Hersheys bars - the absolute best for smores.
10:42 your peanut butter quote is so wide of the mark it sounds ridiculous . g.i. `s had peanut butter in the war , over here my dad even used to get modern (70`s 😅) ration tins , it wasnt as good as sun-pat that i ate ,with jam frequently !!!( almost daily) same period during the 80`s i used to eat kp peanut butter the goat of peanut butter imo . sorry if this seems a bit brash , but im flabbergasted you think peanut butter has only recently been embraced over here . its 0400 hrs and i have to make peanut butter on toast now!
BTW, a lot of US candies have artificial ingredients that are not allowed in other countries anymore. I'd buy the Canadian versions of these instead of the US ones if I was to eat a lot of those. And, you have to try the Black Twizzlers which have real licorice.
Hershey's is foul. Google the Hershey's process, the sour milk flavor is entirely deliberate. As an American, you grow up eating this stuff so you just assume that's what chocolate tastes like. Once you eat non-Hershey's chocolate, you notice the sour taste and you can never go back.
Twizzlers are not the original red licorice and they taste like a plastic model of candy. The really great class red licorice is called "Red Vines" please give it a chance.
This is possibly the most important segment you have ever done.

Your uncensored and authentic reactions are priceless!!! 😂 Thanks so much for the fun!
“Ooo piece ‘a candy” in the American accent cracked me up

Oh my head. This is one of my favorite episodes ever for some reason. Y'all got me straight up giggling over here. 😂
I was shocked you didn’t like the nerds gummy clusters. Those seem to be a big hit over here in the US.
Same. I don’t care for fruit candy especially or soft gummies but the crunchy chewy combo makes them more snackable.
Always have clusters for bikepacking!
Wrong flavor of nerds gummy clusters...
They’re my favorite candy on a ride and it’s not close.
Sour Patch Kids and Peach Rings are my favorite ride snacks when stopping at a Gas Station, include a Coke or Redbull and im set for a while!!
nerd gummy clusters are the 💩! love them
A high point of visiting england was having the good version of american candy bars.
Brilliant video. I liked hearing your take on American sweets. The Twizzlers was the best-smells great, tastes like bread. I laughed multiple times throughout this.
Great vid! I'd like to see the Canadian version, please
Strawberry Twizzlers are fantastic cycling snacks.
Fun dip is the pinnacle of American candy
‘This is the shape Jimmy thinks the world is’ hahah love it.
As an American, I enjoyed watching this. A suggestion would be to try a Little Debbie oatmeal creme pie. Better than a Twinkie.

Freeze dried Skittles sugar wise and absorbing wise is your best bang for your buck imo
Chocolate has a large amount of saturated fat which impairs athletic performance. On warm days it also will turn into a sticky mess.
OMG, as an American you guys made me LMFAO!!! 😂
5:17 frances just nailed it (except the taste nice bit ) vomit!

How about rating the taste of gels? For flavor, good for bike?
On the bike, the candies for me are sour Haribos and Tootsie Rolls.
hershey : i was so looking forward to one of these 20+ yrs ago and to use a colloquial expression . it was gop (that means disgustingly foul )

Honestly when I am cycling and working in the US. I have difficulty getting a good balanced food.
Jimmie is cracking me up on this one 🍫🍬🍭🤪

Being an American who lived in Europe, there is no comparison. European candies are so much better.
What about the fires?
When i had my Invisalign braces I would swallow swedish fish whole so I could eat on my rides while wearing my braces.
wide of the mark!

Lots of that candy contains ingredients that are outright banned in the EU. No thanks.
Father Ted - "its banned in most European countries, so that means its very good"
You need to do this with mexican "candys"
Yes. Alvbro Pollito Asado are the best!
Weren't Swedish Fish banned in the UK!!?
Red Vines > Twizzlers

The Twizzlers vs Red Vines argument is never-ending. Twizzlers have no flavor. 😝
My controversial opinion is that peanut butter m&m’s are superior to Reese’s pieces.
Not surprised! Americans actually eat CANDY for breakfast.
Twizzlers are not the original red licorice and they taste like a plastic model of candy.
The really great class red licorice is called "Red Vines" please give it a chance.
Hard to chew when the watts go above 200.
Swedish Fish are just weird
You should redo the same video except with bike orientated snacks or hi-carb snack bars.
Chemical's in all them sweets are literally off the scale some of them are seriously as bad as cigarettes!
I can’t believe i just wasted more than 10 minutes in this. F* TH-cam addiction 😅
i really feel in general throughout all programmes, jimmy always tries to please everyone ,all of the time .
You guys are so lucky not to have all that. #1 killer in America
