"Uncrowned King" Marion Hayden
Native Detroiter Marion Hayden is one of the nation's finest proponents of the acoustic bass. She creates a rich, dark tone and a very advanced rhythmic concept. Hayden was not only the Guest Curator for the 2012 All-Star Revue, she was featured here on "UnCrowned King". Marion was classically trained and has played with such jazz veterans as Kirk Lightsey, Ralph Peterson, Jr., Dizzy Gillespie, and Kenny Burrell. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Music.
