Nessun Dorma by Giacomo Puccini is an opera singer's greatest and most difficult challenge. The story and success of Paul Potts in the Britain got's Talent was great. What Martin Hurkens did on stage is breathtaking. He doesn't have to hide from any tenor in the world. Unbelievable.
as a dutch guy i agree to what you have said. i do prefer this edition above the one of Paul Potts because i can actually understand the words Martin is singing. And when i compare em to the lyrics they are almost spot on, but Paul sings another version and for me more difficult to understand the words he is actually singing. In some instances it does not sound like a word but just the sound. But this may also be because i am half deaf. Either way, i have to stick to my roots on this one because it seems to me a better version than Paul. Both are on the same stage as Mario was, Mario Lanza (who in my and my father's opinion is the one who sang it perfectly.)
The Dutch amaze me with there ability to do so much with so little. How much people can possibly audition with such a small country? How can they cream so many football teams in a small space? You could take a 30 minute drive to game.

Paul Potts got better sensibly since he started a professional career, but in a paragon between his Got Talent performance and the Martin's one, I have to say that Martin was much better: better pronunciation, better timing and (personal opinion) nicer voice than Paul Potts. However, I have also to say that Paul managed better his career in his first years than Martin...

I think in this one with Martin I noticed quite a bit of tension on the final note of the song. I am not an expert but that is what I seemed to notice is that Paul Potts has a lot more tension in his voice then Martin Hurkens. I think Martin has wonderful voice. I hope he continues to improve and have a good future singing.
