The video omitted any role of the significant loans and FDI from Japan in this analysis. If a nation wants to grow to benefit its people's they have to resort to borrowing . What are the differences borrowing from World Bank or IMF which are denominated in USD compared to borrowing from China which is cheaper ? Do not be hypocrites .

A debt to IMF is to surrender your economy and sovereignty to Western dictates whereas a loan from China is purely a business arrangement. It also seems like the loans from China is spent on asset building that will also result in wealth creation for both parties. As long as loan money received is accounted for and no corruption is taking place then I think they are in a much better space than before.

Moreover, the interest rates for all loans in China are clearly stated and will not change the agreement or require additional political terms. For China, a wealthy Bangladesh is more advantageous, indicating that China has an additional wealthy trading partner, which is not the case for some countries.
