Read description for info! We never released this on the main channel because there were too many 5700 videos and interest was dying back, so we wanted to use the upload "slot" for other content, like case reviews or other stuff. Putting it here instead!
More content for us? Very cool. May be worth linking this on a community post for those that aren't subscribed to the side channel. Didn't expect to see a full production video over here personally
It's nice to see a company that doesn't go out of their way to make something fancy, when it simply doesn't need do. I genuinely appreciate simplicity and utilitarianism over noisy aesthetics and unnecessary convolution.
@CastAway_Dave i dunno i doubt they'll do it so they don't compete directly against their AIB's.. i think they only reason they went with a cooler like this on the radeon VII is that there wasn't going to be any AIB custom cards.
@@d2ricci The Navi stock cooler is pretty mediocre actually. No heat pipes, just a vapour chamber stuck onto a heatsink with a thermal pad between it and the GPU die. Sure, it's better than the garbage AMD used to have but it isn't great.
I did not even know before today that Steve has his own channel :D I'm glad sometimes i'm using my phone and getting randomly all these community posts lol
I bought my Master x570 for $269 just weeks after launch at Micro Center on Open Box clearance. Went in for a Tuf x570 and couldn't pass this up when I saw it.
Bought a red devil £430 inc tax. Was waiting for it or nitro to come down in price as it was out of stock. Comes tomorrow looking forward to it big upgrade from rx480
Does someone knows the thickness for the pads? I had to replace a bunch and they ended up being too thick or very little conductive so i want to know some insights in the matters... thank you in advance!
I seem to recall from looking into it myself that the 2 Red Devils have identical coolers so I would imagine the 2 Red Dragons are also identical but confirmation would be nice.
"We saw that RX 5700 performance, particularly for non-XT, dipped so hard that it wasn't even justifiable to upload as an "extra" on the main channel". That would've been less confusing if you worked the word "youtube" in there somewhere. I was trying to figure out how this was related to hardware function, and why that would make you not post it.
5700 red dragon x 5700 gaming oc, Same price, but with powerplay or bios flash on mind, my only fear is the gaming oc only having one 8pin instead of 8+6 so I dont know if its enough for 5700xt bios
I think he prefers that real-desk-worktop from the days of Joe Friday hat slinging detectives, it's more skookum for tearing apart busticated rat tail grinders and manglings. Then again, it would be cool to see how he opens the GN modmat shipping tube. B)
@Halfar Jubelson Really? That's great to know. I ended up buying the red dragon 5700 xt and am still planning to do this. I just wasn't sure on how to go about it. How did you end up mounting the fans? I guess the screwholes for the shroud are a bit too small for fan screws. I thought about using those noctua rubber sticks but I don't have any of them and wasn't sure how they would fit Do you mind taking some pictures and uploading them somewhere? I'm really interested in your solution

More lost content please, Plus can we have a bike update :)
Thanks for releasing it anyways.
Thank you for posting this! I watched the review of the card and was perplexed when we never got to see a tear down.
Keep throwing vids up on Patreon too, if you believe it wouldn't bring an ROI, or impact the main channel negatively due to YT algo

Sneaking this one in on the side channel I see!
It looks amazing!
Such a nice and clean design!
Thanks for sharing this content still Steve =)
I hope AMD adopts this kind of stock cooler for their next gpus
Make the shroud screaming red, loose the chrome plastic rings arround the fans and it is perfect.
Radeon 7 triggered.

I'm here from the future. Yes but you can't buy one :'(

Upload all you want to your side Channel! I'm Sub'ed and Alerted for Both Channels! Keep it Coming!!
cool video, glad it didnt hit the bin.
Thank you! I just got this card and you did promise to show us the tear down...
Thanks for the teardown video. That card looks like a nice clean & easy design.
most important thing : can it do downhill? X)
Nice tear-down btw!
darn. I thought it would be a downhill teardown :P
Glad I found this, replacing the fans right now

I’d love a video of you flashing the bios to the XT version and then test it against an XT model after overclocking them both.
Like the power color cards, actually the way to go with itx cases 🙂😊

Real GN content making it to the side-channel. I should subscribe here as well. :)
This video already edited and touch up but did not release on the main channel eventhough have the Gamer Nexus intro
I couldn't understand how thick the thermal blocks on this plate would be, could someone help with that information? Thanks
A prime candidate for VBIOS flashing.
Rx 5700 Red Dragon, my GPU .. a bomb :)
Bought a red devil £430 inc tax. Was waiting for it or nitro to come down in price as it was out of stock. Comes tomorrow looking forward to it big upgrade from rx480
I came here for the cat thumbnail.
Ive been enjoying my red dragon 5700xt for 6 months now with zero issue, apart from funky amd drivers. Lots better performance from my gtx 1070.
I have the xt version of this appears to be the same cooling solution
Hey, why you never measure the thermal padsssssss please, this is important info
How would you avoid the warranty sticker?

1.0mm on rams, 1.5mm on long ones
@@tahatatilbal Not sure but it seems like VRAM takes 1,5mm. VCore also takes 1,5mm. And on the Backplate it takes 2mm
@@Trip4man no, it's 1mm on longs and yeah vrams take 1.5mm
Any idea if the XT is different inside (apart from the chip of course 😂)? 0 info online or I'm just a dum dum xD

Haven't taken mine apart, but it looks identical from what I can tell
Review RX 6700 XT fighter please!
Would've been cool to be able take the shroud off without taking the cooler off the board and having to repaste it all

Seems like a fan mod with some noctuas would be really easy on this card.

Hey Steve, I can't find a magnetic screwdriver anywhere, where can I buy one?
It sounds ridiculous, but Im not able to get one at local stores
amazon?
you can also buy a tool magnetizer/demagnetizer.
@@peterpain6625 can't find one in it
@@PainterVierax they legitimately work or are they gimmicks?
Rub a strong magnet vigorously against a screwdriver, or buy our toolkit on the GN store -- they're all pre-magnetized.
does the xt have the same cooling design?
i tested the rx 5700 xt red dragon and it has good temps
Неплохо не считая что на памяти толстые термо-прокладки
Please check the msi rx5700 mech 🙏
Avoid the mech
