- Djenné Mali Grand Mosque, in West Africa, has been called the largest adobe building in the world with a length of 100 meters and a width of 60 meters. Palm tree branches are used in the construction of the mosque so that the clay walls do not crack and are resistant to moisture and heat. The construction of this building dates back to 1907 and this mosque has 99 columns consisting of the names of God and has 114 openings which are derived from the number of surahs of the Holy Quran.

I have visited this mosque in Djenne in central Mali. It is the biggest mud building in the world.
