Welcome to malaysia for your holiday... Malaysian was food heavean at any where..even in road stall or coffee shop all food amazing and delicious...hope you enjoy it
What you're eating is fried kuey teow , wok fried flat noodle with prawn and some even had chinese sausage. Egg is added in it you dont need to have additional fried egg on it. But if you want it its additional cost. If you want it a little spicy it taste better. Next is roast pork and roasted chicken rice. This two are malaysia's top of the list and all time favorite food in malaysia among local malaysian chinese community .
The trick to eat most Malaysian foods is to mix all the things on the plate. We mainly eat rice on daily basis, so we created hundreds of dish to go with the rice.
Spoons people, spoons, always eat it with spoons here. Anyway glad u guys enjoy it. Be prepared for the foodgasm in Malaysia. You'll be back for more. Lol
Looked for this comment. Found it. Great! Mainly it's using spoons to scoop up rice instead of a fork. Also, it's more common to eat a mouthful with both rice and meat/vege in one go. Not separated.
The shrimp in the stir fried noodles (fried keow teow) taste good bcos it is fresh, probably just caught that morning. They dont use frozen processed shrimp from the supermarket.
Very good choices of food to review. Nasi ayam campur is a gem among non muslim Malaysians, but not talked about much!! Even that noodle soup is not common among tourists. This is the true local day to day food that the Malaysians eat.
You should try the "cham peng" in any Chinese food court. cham = coffee mix tea, peng = ice. ICC Pudu is one of the famous Chinese food court in Kuala Lumpur that are local peoples going there.
Many other Malaysian lively food stalls outside KL..provide free cold filtered water , while fried kuey tiaw chicken rice cost about 6 or 7 ringgit only ...not to mention mouth watering ice frothy Milo.. tea or coffee tarikkkk😅
The chicken rice with the roast pork (with crispy skin) is definitely better that those in Singapore. Oh, please, don't compare food in Singapore to ours in Malaysia. We take as an insult. Hahaha..... Oh, the soup with the chicken rice is to provide some moist to the rice. Some people can find the rice too dry. So, they drink a little of the soup after taking some rice just feel better. So, that soup is really optional and it is intentional made less flavorful so that it would not distract you from the taste of the rice and the meats that go with it.
Nalaysia and Singapore have similar cultures including food. That's cockles not oyster. The song they should be sung using the brother John song rhythm, are you sleeping, are you sleeeping brother john ....

Yeah, Indian muslim restaurant aka mamak is the best place to experience the food culture in Malaysia 🇲🇾. Most Malaysian really likes to hang out at mamak restaurants.
thats not oyster but cockles a common ingredient in Char kuey teow. The lentil curry is called Dal . Dosa/Tosai is made by slightly fermenting rice and gram/lentil beans hence the slight sourness.
