Ducati Monster 600 Build

  • I bought a 1994 Ducati Monster 600 that had been sitting in a guys living room for 2 years. After stripping the bike, respraying and rebuilding its almost back together.
    At this stage I still need a new headlight, to mount the new indicators, replace the stock plastic guards including the Ducati tail, and add in some final bling.

    This is one of my favorite videos on TH-cam, you did great work. I'd love to do something similar someday, old Monsters deserve TLC.

    The first Video on Tube wich i watched more then ten times. Its a very good documentation with nice music. I have a 600 too and i am sure, no one needs more than 600 cc on a naked bike like this. Nice coloring.

    Just bought a 900cc, plan on doing the same thing! Awesome documentary, I'm surprised there wasn't more parts to be honest lol. I got mine running great, but it has been down so I have to replace the gas tank and bars, but I figured I would take the engine apart and paint it black to make it look cool. Nice video with classy music!

    Hi, I have a ducatie monster 600 from 1999. it maks the same piston klinging noise, is this normal? or can it do bad? (5:33)

    • @vincentrood

      I have exactly the same sound, mine is also an 600 from 1999. Any updates?

    • @abdoelKO
      @abdoelKO 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been to a secondhand partshop. the man heard the sound and said it was somthing he heard the sound more often on this type motorcycle. the sound can be more over time, but it cant do any harm.

    • @30Higgins
      @30Higgins 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulation for your nice job. Don't worry about this verry well known bell sound comming from the front cylinder. All early models of 600 make that sound. It is piston slapping due to the casting pistons replaced on later models by forged pistons. My 600 Monster and my 600 SS make both the same sound. I have checked on a spare cylinder and spare piston within factory specs dimension and i can reproduce the bell noise by moving the top of the piston slightly in the cylinder. So don't worry, ride and enjoy this verry nice bike. ;-)

      @abdoelKO 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks, it nice to have it confirmed.

    • @vincentrood
      @vincentrood 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look at this Article, it says that the later models are using cast pistons. The earlier models where build with forged pistons (the slappy ones) which suggests that they are better build. Forged pistons are more more durable If I have understand it right. The only thing I don't understand is why the forged pistons make that sound.

    what's the ringing sound ?

    • @samuelmustakallio6476
      @samuelmustakallio6476 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kinda late response, but that's just the sound a dry clutch makes.
