I haven't read the whole thing but so far Gold and Silver are my favorite. That ending honestly made me cry and Gold is probably my favorite Pokemon character.
I interpreted Blake and Whitley’s journeys to be one of the more intriguing storylines of the series. I just saw it needed some deeper reading(wish it was also lengthened). Though Blake claims he has no emotions, we see him vigilantly protect Whitlea onboard the ship from Plasma and Colress, even though she is a potential enemy and hindering his progress. After going underwater, he continues to guide and protect her, going as far as giving her a Pokémon, even though he had been discharged from the IP. It was thanks to him they captured Colress, the man that tried to kill them, and saved the Pokémon aboard the ship. He even returns to the school to ensure she was free from the persecution of the IP and others before they graduated. He states that he confronted Neo Plasma for his sense of justice; however, all of his actions were deliberate and prioritized in protecting Whitlea from both the IP and Plasma, going as far as risking his own life against Colress. His methods were twisted, but that was what was so interesting about him. Whitlea was like Gabi from AOT, but done right. She sees the error in the ways of Plasma, and offers insight into the human side of the group. In the end, she treated Blake’s wounds in the underwater cave, and helped Hugh find Purloin, showing she, like Blake, can also care for her enemy, despite her initial disdain towards them. We see this bond between both in the graduation ceremony, when they grant each other a bittersweet farewell, with the fading of Blake’s emotionless self, and Whitlea’s acceptance of Blake as an ally. And that’s what’s so beautiful about these characters, they both had to deal with conflict in their loyalties which were tested through each other, making one of the most twisted, yet interesting dynamics.
Honestly pretty good video dude! Its hard finding people talking about Pokemon Adventures so this was what I needed to fill that hole. I agree with your points about Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but I personally love Red and Yellow together instead of Misty. I also liked what they did with Gold and Togepi in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Nonetheless, great video and I hope you make more Pokemon Adventure videos in the future!
Great video! I agree Ruby and Sapphire are amazing reversals of gender roles, and I'd add that I love that they didn't remove all femininity from the tomboy or remove all masculinity from the guy who isn't afraid to show femininity. I'm fine with headcanons of Ruby being bi and I always like seeing more gay characters, but I'm so happy Ruby is explicitly interested in a straight relationship, since all too often media suggests a guy being "pretty" just means he's gay. I also agree with a lot of your points on each "remake" chapter, although I generally went into those with lower expectations than the "new generation" chapters. Here's what I would go with: S - Y, GSC, RS, BW A - FRLG, E, B2W2, ORAS B - RGB, DP, SMUSUM C - HGSS, XY D - P S - Green, Yellow, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire, Black, White A - Blue, Diamond, Platinum, Sun B - Gold, Crystal, Emerald, Whitley C - Red, Pearl, Blake, Y, Moon D - X Based on where SwSh is right now, I'd put the chapter as well as both dexholders in A.
Yes! Pokespe content! BW arc and Black and White are my personal favorites as well. It really felt like the most all-around good chapter of the manga. Though I might be biased because it's the first arc I ever read of Pokespe. haha At first I also didn't warm up to gen 6. Coming right after Gen 5 I was really disappointed since it kind of (B2W2 wasn't finished yet) started the trend that the story/characters aren't as flashed out or lacked character development. However when rereading it - knowing what to expect - it started to grew on me. Especially the moral dilemma around the ignorance of society and Emma.
Unlike the games I really don't think any pokemon manga is truly bad outside of the ones based on the remake arcs that aren't fr lg. I love how each manga feels like it builds upon the last one and with the exception of emerald I always like the new characters they introduce. Personally I'd rank the manga like this: S: Y, FRLG, BW, DPP, RS A: GSC, RBG B: Emerald, P C: BW2, XY, SM D: USUM, HGSS F: ORAS
I totally agree with you about hgss and oras they're both really bad and probably the only truly bad pokemon manga. Heartgold soulsilver is bad I agree but I'd rate even lower tbh, it feels very rushed and I really hated it for undermining pyrce's sacrifice from the GSC arc oh he's just here now because celebi decided he gets to live like that's horrible writing. After taking care of the conflict, Giovanni rather then having proper character growth just says oh I'm gonna revive team rocket again like that worked so well the first time lmao. Lance is the only one who actually got a proper character arc and learned that what he was doing trying to take the world by force and rule it through only the elite four was wrong. Plus the villians of hgss feel very forgettable and lame. The oras manga just feels very rushed and forgettable there's some nice fanservice between the games and the megas but I just didn't care for it too much. They bring back maxie and archie for the millionth time and I'm left very confused and wondering why they bothered to do that. It just feels like a lot of oh you remember this from oras but done worse, or dumb fanservice like remember giovanni guys? Remember red blue green remember them?? It's like that redlettermedia clip: remember this, it's that thing I know I clapped I clapped when I saw it. Also using ruby as the main character and having little to no development of any other characters too. Oras is just so lazy man I hate it, easily the worst pokemon adventures manga it's not even close
sidenote: I don't hate emerald as a character but I'll be forever annoyed and spiteful that they shafted wally just because the manga author decided they wanted to make a character named emerald to be more accurate to the games. Despite clearly setting up emerald to be the protag in RS ugh so dummbbb
I'll agree that platinum chapter could've been better but I guess I just really liked platinum fighting in the battle frontier, looker, and the confrontation in the distortion world at the end. It just isn't boring, forgettable or rushed for the most part which is more then I can say for c tier or below
Ever since I watched Egan Medias manga dub for Pokémon adventures. Videos like this keep popping in my recommended and I’m glad! I’m so happy other people each this series as much as I do. And with people doing manga dubs for the series it gives it new life and experiences for people to enjoy it again in different ways. And I highly recommend watching it!
Black and white 2 felt pretty rushed but it felt like there was a lot of filler as well like the choir tournament. Y felt like she had no personality and just seemed like she was another kalos rival. Moon just felt like she was slapped into being a decent holder as she was given her Pokédex off screen because “She wanted one” and I wanted sun to have a rotom dex like moon, it would’ve created more trials like the mimikyu one which I enjoyed.
Literally X whole story, Y whole story, and Worse, Emma's whole story went absolutely get worse than how it should be in the games gave me PTSD. But to be fair people won't get felt relatable if you are not living among yuppies.

I've only read the first RGB, Yellow and almost finished GSC and I love how fleshed out the characters (especially the gym leaders) are compared to the games
It's so funny how your taste is so different from mine ahah for example I disliked Fire Red, Leaf Green and Emerald, but adored XY. I agree with BW2 starting incredible and then declining. In general many arcs have problems with the ending, I can't stand big, bloated and chaotic final fights (my main problem with Gold, Silver and Crystal and Sun Moon and Ultra Sun Ultra Moon).
Haha I have not checked my comments in a while, sorry abt that. Probably not gonna get around to the ship tier list any time soon so here’s an impromptu version OTP: Red x Misty Yellow x Crys Gold x Silver Ruby x Silver Dia x Pearl Black x White Are my favorites!
I personally enjoyed the ORAS arc quite a lot, I feel like I understand why they made Ruby the "main protagonist" here, they wanted to explore the character's way to attempt to solve everything on his own, cuz that's pretty much what he has been attempting to do since the R/S arc, only for him to realize that he does not need to keep this things to himself, if Norman wasn't there he would probably never find Rayquaza to begin with, if it was not for the help of the Draconids he would have probably never found out about the Rayquaza legend at all, if it wasn't for Sapphire, the scientists guys might've never join forces with the Draconids, and again, without Sapphire's help he probably wouldn't have realized in time what Rayquaza wanted. He had to realize that even if he acted as a lonely protagonist, he wouldn't have gotten anywhere without other people's help, and that's why, when he finally realizes this, he actually asks Sapphire to come to space with him, he doesn't want to act like a lone wolf anymore cuz he finally woke up to life and realized that doing dangerous stuff alone is the best thing to do to protect his important people. I think the moment this "clicked" to him was probably when Sapphire what he always does, she acted alone, fought Zinnia on a rocket and went missing, I feel like he finally understood what is to worry about people when they act solo and you can literally do nothing because you had no idea that thing was happening, and when you found it out, it was already too late. That's what Sapphire felt when he attempted to battle Groundon and Kyogre without her help and that's what made her lose her voice when she found out Ruby's shenanigans. Imo, developing Ruby was top priority here cuz Sapphire is pretty much all fleshed out already, so I understand where they were coming from, although I would've loved more Sapphire moments of course. I feel like the arc suffered a bit due to when it came out, from what I understood, there were stuff going on the background which made the XY, ORAS and SM chapters rushed and shorter, so I think that, given the circumstances, they did a good job.
I'm glad someone gives black and white manga the respect it deserves but black 2 and white 2 was a mess I hated that the only good part of black and white 2 was when white saw black and black finally returned
Finally, proper BW appreciation!!!! as someone who is hyperfixated on Black, it drives me insane when people misunderstand his character as annoying and basic: he’s very much neurodivergent coded and he actually grows and matures subtlety and naturally which is lovely to see. and despite a chunk of it missing in the middle, white’s arc was great. parts of Team Plasma were also expanded on much better than the games imo, and N, Black and White’s parallels are spectacular. tldr: bw 10/10 best pokéspe
