40:00 I 100% feel your and Hans' pain. Here are just a few of the "made me feel extremely old" moments I've had recently: 1. I'm graduating college next month after starting my higher education journey in 2009. Most of my classmates weren't even in 1st grade when I started at college. 2. Watching my youngest cousin, who was born when I was a freshman in high school, turn 20. 3. Realizing when I finally had to replace my trusty TI-84 calculator (that I got in my sophomore year) that I owned it longer than most of the people taking the physics class with me have been alive. 4. Hearing that my best friend from high school's oldest daughter is now *IN* high school herself. P.S. I believe I'm only a year older than you, since my freshman year of high school was 2002-2003. Hope this helps 💀
Drak, you should totally make another job design video. I’d love to hear your thoughts on healers or tanks. Or even just the general direction job design seems to be taking

Both high school and college have freshmen. So I'd say he meant high school. Especially if Drak was 14 or 15 at the time. Those are the typical ages for high school freshmen. 18 or depending on when they go into college would mean they're college freshmen.
I died like 20x on normal and I was a sage, I really don't understand the mechanics of the fight. Watching videos doesn't help me as I'm likely to forget everything, I am a hands on learner only. An explanation before pulling helps a lot more than a video for me cause I'm more likely to remember and watch for the mechanic. That multiple terrain thing he does with his cape confuses me the most
If you still need help with that.... Lightning = Proximity AoE = run to the edge/corner of arena Water = Knockback = run to the center. Those are the two important ones in Normal. Poison is spread and Fire is stack, but you'll have time to resolve them after seeing the markers.
I'll try to watch for that, but it's kinda hard to when the rest of the party is dying. And it was annoying that I was the only one healing the MT in my first time there, they barely used their mp in fact while I was draining mine like crazy trying to keep people up. Pandemonium is definitely not a place where solo healing is possible. It's also hard to watch for mechanics when I'm the only one doing the majority of the healing. Should've gotten my reaper to 90 first before attempting pandemonium, only DPS I have above level 80. I'm enjoying sage though, just wished its spammable shields could take a little more damage. I get kinda annoyed when a single auto attack from the boss can pop the single target shield I put on the tank always
I get that. Hard to do most things when everyone is dying and even when I know what's going on, rezzing people gets me killed so much. Still, it sounds like you were having to fight your party more than the boss and until they implement Trusts in everything, that's an unavoidable gamewide AoE you just gotta heal through.
The ai needs buffing to some degree imo, and the healer ai could do with the ability to res us instead of auto wiping at my death. Unless we're a buffing class bosses take forever to kill with the ai. That's my only problem with them, and yeah most of the mechanics in normal are easily avoided if I follow people. It's just that terrain mechanic sometimes doesn't have an animation so I have no way of knowing what I need to avoid. Also a few friends have told me that sage and drk don't work together very well. They didn't elaborate on the reasoning though
