My group and I are hard at work on TEA prog, so far we've made it to inception cleanup into wormhole. I'm hoping PA is as easy as everyone says it is as I'm still confused exactly what's going on during both fate calibrations but I'm sure with enough practice and looking at it I'll know it like the back of my hand

PA will take you 4-5 pulls most likely. Fate Cal is just you watching your clone die in the future to tell you what mechanics you have that will kill you.

I wouldnt just outright say that to be honest.
If your group is studying really hard and looking through povs and the like to be completely prepared when the phase starts, then I suppose you could kill p4 in little pulls, but not everyone is fast enough when learning to figure it out.
If you don't have an established shotcaller who knows his shit, things like Fate Cali B cán be quite overwhelming. Fate Cali A still requires you to spot your role, and trines can catch people off guard just fine.
The details on positioning need to be correct as well, knowing where light beacons and dark beacons stand and not fucking up the group is something that can be really hard to prog if you dont have someone around who already knows how it works.

hey, would this still be the way to go for current patch TEA on BLM?

Not sure if this is a good place to ask or if this question even makes much sense, but what do you reckon, is TEA the "easiest" ultimate to start with as a BLM? I've always done the lv70 ones as SMN because why bother with no tangible gain for so much more difficulty, but lv80 BLM already seems fine to play if you're used to lv90 one like me. Do you reckon TEA is a good first BLM ultimate?

Not Eksu, but I wonder if your question is "do I learn BLM in TEA or in other ults" or "I want to prog TEA on BLM".
If you want to learn BLM, and want to do so by stepping it up into Ultimate, I can personally recommend DSR as a better choice, but I'd say that answer probably differs left right and center.
I think DSR gives a lot more ease of use to DPS rotations because of the amount of times your rotation is just completely reset, which allows for a lot more mistakes, while also having some movement instensive areas to plan around.
It's a case where playing BLM on DSR isnt necessarily hard, but it does force you to actually learn and do it.
      Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Since you have most of your mobility kit (by that I mean triplecast) at 80, TEA Is probably the most approachable out of the 5. UCoB and UWU are miserly to do as BLM, since they do less damage for much more working around movement than SMN on those. I agree with Caro that DSR is more forgiving on your rotation, but it's heavier in the mechanics department. TOP is easily the hardest, especially with the dps checks and amount of movement; it'll be the true test of understanding your job and its mobility options.
Take this with a grain of salt, I mostly play Tank, but dabble in BLM (up to savage, nothing more), but TEA is a good Ultimate to start on BLM. More lenience on dps issues, but will definitely require a good understanding.

@@viepthan1491 Thank you. Yeah I have heard DSR has it's own benefits, but good to know TEA is not a bad one to start out with as I am more interested in it and would prefer the easier mechanics. I think I should be able to handle it with my current skill level. My end goal is of course to get to do TOP as BLM eventually!
Now kind of offtopic, but what do you think about taking a BLM for prog instead of a caster with a res? My static have so far not let me play BLM for anything and insist I play RDM (which I hate) or SMN (not that big of a fan either, lv70 is decently fun though) because they always insist that the res is more important and outweighs all benefits of BLM, however I would like to experience a fight from 0 to 100 as BLM for once to learn all the nuances and tricks while progging instead of studying afterwards I am already done with said fight and having to effectively reprog it with other people. This feels very weird especially when were talking about doing fights that are older not world first week 1 prog lol

@@CaroKannffxiv yeah mine would be more toward the second option. I can play BLM pretty well, would just like to actually do an ultimate with it. DSR certainly is an option but has much harder mechanics of course, this is one reason why I was interested in TEA. Thank you for your knowledge tho!

Well, it depends on your goals as a group, but it should come as no surprise that not a single world prog team runs BLM until it's absolutely necessary for dps.
RDM and SMN raises simply are that valuable, and the ease of prog is just that important, however..
If your team is literally just a casual progging team that progs a couple times a week to get to later mechanics, I would not say that playing BLM is out of the question.
It's at that point more a case of what you enjoy doing, and you seem to really hate playing RDM and SMN, which is totally understandable.
So if your group isn't all that serious about progging, then I don't see an issue with BLM, in fact, you can try being cocky and ask why one of the melees cant play RDM :P (no drama!)
I'd say have a good conversation with your group about this, so that both sides can display their intentions, expectations and why's. It's important to be transparent.
If you're doing old fights, then still youneed to consider how you are progging those old fights. Are you doing them with the intention of clearing them in good/fast time, or are you just doing old fights for the heck of it?
If it's for the heck of it and you wont return on those fights after, I can see the annoyance with not being able to play BLM on there, so maybe then I would also feel annoyed, but I think communication is key here.
