This game looks awesome. Gonna put a lot of pressure on the Dead Space Remake team to do something special because the development team that brought us Dead Space in 2008 is showing us they have new ideas 14 years since that launched.
@Dakota Bledsoe new setting, new protagonist (in terms of personality, situation, role in the world), new plot, different enemy types...what more do you want? A game from a different genre? if so gtfo and play something else!
afaik a lot of this game comes from the original dead space pitch (isaac was supposed to be in jail) but, i mean they will take it all kinds of directions and to be honest, if it ain't broke don't fix it. so many of us are clamouring for that old dead space feel, look at the reactions to dead space 3 and then the anticipation people have for the dead space remake... people want that kind of space horror grotesque experience again and im sure we're all ready to be horrified and terrified by whatever they give us
It’s a Dead Space remake, not dead space 4. This won’t put any pressure as people will just be buying both games anyways. Many people have been waiting for anything dead space or dead space related. I just know I’m getting both so I’m pretty excited.
This is honestly one of the only upcoming games that I feel even the slightest bit excited for. I’m eager for a third-person sci-fi horror game in the vein of Dead Space. Maybe it’s not super original as a concept, but it still looks damn good.

I'm very excited to play this, I just hope this game can carve out its own identity seperate from dead space, and not just be considered a "dead space clone". I'm loving the gory deaths, the sound design, atmosphere, levels. Although to be honest I dont find the monster designs quite as scary and offputting as I did the necromorphs. The way the necromorphs moved and the silhouette of them with the blade like appendages was just disturbing, these monsters kind of look more or less like space zombies. I'm sure they'll have more monster types in store, I'm really hoping this game is good. I love seeing new IP's
Yes I agree with that, one thing they could do is have the zombie/humanoid shape be their default form but as you fight them they could become much more grotesque and they could grow tendrils and stuff like The Thing
It's nice to see how Dead Space's dismemberment philosophy influenced this game... and also the character has his own "kinectic module" that can grap and throw the enemies themselves at this time!
i mean.....the person behind dead space is Glen Schofield and is the same guy who is making now the callisto protocol. after viseral games being shutdown by EA, this guy made a new studio. of course they don't own dead space brand anymore but they made a new franchise and obviously they took every idea from dead space to this new game. the mechanics are their idea. i really recommend watching the documentary about dead space posted in "ars technica" youtube channel. its really amazing.

I could actually feel genuine heart pounding panic from that environmental death in the first scene. As if I could somehow empathize being caught in machinery and fighting my inevitable death… seriously though, they did so damn good at creating terror.
The only thing that came close to me is the section in Dead Space 2 where Isaac had to access a memory through a machine, and the only was to access it was with a needl. And I'll give you 3 guesses to which part of the brain they had to access it through if you didn't already know

I'm loving the weapons, the design looks more grounded compared to Dead Space weaponry, they also feel impactful. The armor design of the suit is also top notch, not too bulky, not too slim. Just really loving the aesthetics of the game overall. Really hope they include the heavy breathing and other touches they did in Dead Space while the suit is on.
Oh yeah, I'm really looking forward to it too. Finally we get a worthy sequel to DeadSpace! The full DNA of DS can be seen in the first gameplay alone. I am so happy about the development team what they have achieved! Independent developers can usually do better! EA is to blame for what happened to DeadSpace and now they are trying to do a remake with another team that has little experience with it. That's going to be nice, because Callisto is the real DS!
Very promising, it seems to keep true to the core ideas that made Dead Space so great. Intergrated HUD elements (ammo counter directly on the pistol, HP shown on the character instead of a bar in the upper left corner), lots of dark corners and it seems to have a strong sense of atmosphere and visual cohesion. If the audio portion is just as good to compliment what I'm seeing, we might have a very strong newcomer among horror games on our hands. I can't wait for the release, one game that I'm genuinely looking forward to.

3rd person horror > 1st person horror There’s a reason the RE remakes do so well. Ever since PT demo all the developers have been hooked on first person view. It’s all the same. Love seeing horror come back to 3rd person view.
Not really. Resident Evil 7 was amazing in the horror aspect, even tho it was a bit self aware. In fact, it was so horrific to some people that the dev team toned down the other games apart from REmake 2, especially Village and REmake 3. First person Horror Games can easily exist if made properly. But i do agree Third Person Horror games shine more overall. After all, all the classics were third person with either a following camera or a fixed camera with pre-rendered backgrounds. And Dead Space 1 and 2 proved it can be done right.
Really can't wait for this game. My gf was next to me watching this. Her eyes grew large with a horrified expression on her face homie body got smashed when getting hit into that reactor. Thats the energy I miss in games. Finding new ways to tell us a gruesome story, with good gameplay, and shocking key moments.

I think Dead Space set a standard for horror games, it was ahead of it's time even if it takes ideas from other games. Had great graphics, a unique UI (or sort of not one) and terrifying atmosphere and story. This game uses the same signature formula but it translates so well still with modern hardware. Just stands testament to the quality this development team put into their games. Looking forward to playing this.
So excited for this and also for the possibility of "ILL" if it where to move out of the project phase and become a full fledge game. But yes this looks so good and love Josh Duhamel. He's a great actor 👌

Love everything about it except for the see through glass visor on the armor. You can't give me Dead Space's awesome armor and then give a bubble head lol. Otherwise, very excited!
I actually like it. It gives the dev team a new avenue of horror when we get to see the characters facial expressions during certain scenes, be it death or maybe even in combat too. Having Isaac be a armored up all the time *almost* separates the fact that he's still a human. Even in DS2, some of the death scenes made Isaac's helmet come off/visor come up just to see his facial expressions.
Now I want to see a third person game where you break out of Hell to exact revenge on those who sent you there via sacrifice ! Absorbing aspects of demons along the way.
Thing I'm most excited about is real melee combat in what is essentially a dead space game. Character has a dodge as well, way better than the DS3 roll, very quick very fluid
I hope they give us something similar to the Plasma Cutter. The Gravity Gun is nice, but we had the option to grab and throw around enemies in Dead Space too. I don't want that to be the main weapon tbh... Cutting of limbs should be as efficient as it used to be

The environment how it's chaotic scary with the technological theme of the future. The mechanism of the weapons they are so developed you can even make weapons with parts you find with a well written storyline this game must be perfect

You know how dead space felt like everything was alien like, like a stringy nervous system alien thing. This feels like your cutting the flesh and and ripping through the bone. Besides that I like how it looks like a live action dead space

RE7 and 8 did great as well, they're not successful because of their pov, they're just well made fun horror games.

People write,”why can’t we have more horror games like this?” I say, “why can’t we have more horror movies like this.” That’s what I want. Striking distance needs to make the next Alien Movie. The protagonist can shoot the limbs off and Dead Space stomp a Xenomorph! Or let Striking Distance make the next Alien or Predator 3rd person RPG Open World game!
The dead space comparison is right on the nose, but I see you did add more in the environment for new kills and deaths. Glad to see it isn't going to be an unapologetic clone.

I don't play a lot of "Horror" games but Dead space is one I play, Callisto protocol gonna be one that I play as well.
This has to be the devs from dead space. I loved that series. Legit a game that actually scared me. Definitely getting this day 1
They got so many horror games coming out! I am sooooooo pumped! These are my favorite types of games! ... Other than a few FPS games ie. CoD/BF and World of Warcraft.

The director of this game is one of the best around. It's sucks how publishers and investors rob an artist of their own creations.
As a Dead Space Fan I have to say that this already looks better than I ever hoped that it would be.
You know how dead space felt like everything was alien like, like a stringy nervous system alien thing. This feels like your cutting the flesh and and ripping through the bone. Besides that I like how it looks like a live action dead space

If no one noticed at 2:12 when he used his tk it took some meter off his arm so I’m guessing they’re fusing tk and stasis but there won’t exactly be stasis
When i was kid i played Dead space with my dad and i was so scared but i enjoyed it, it was my first horror game! And now the developers created this new game? Im too exited to breath!!
