Nene was the highest paid reality star on tv at one point. Making over 1Mil per season. But yet she didn’t wanna engage with some of her castmates. That ego right there is what ruined her relationship with bravo. And it put the nail in the coffin when she sued them and called them racist Smh it’s sad but Nene did this to herself.

I hated the time when Greg was sick. One, I hated his suffering. But I also hated that Nene would lash out at the other wives, and then when she’d get called out she’d starting crying about Greg. I know she was in pain, but that’s no excuse to attack your friends.

I thought it was tough for NeNe because everyone was very concerned about Greg and even when the man was at death's door, she did not wanna share her spotlight. So she lashed out at castmates for caring about Greg.
Nene’s ego was her downfall. This is where I think it went wrong… once she got into “Hollywood” and had some acting gigs, her head BLEW UP! She suddenly thought she was above housewives… then Hollywood quickly figured out she had absolutely no talent and couldn’t act for shit. She only had some acting roles because of her popularity. Once Hollywood closed the door, she ran back to housewives full time and thought she was above the girls and she owned the show.
I think nene lost the plot when she returned to the show trying to use the what she learnt during her short acting career in Hollywood...but she couldn't act it just made her look like a fool. I guess she thought she was being clever

I think when Nene didn’t have money she was shut out from some social groups. Once she started making a real coin she had to get back at those people by treating them beneath her.
Nene sensed Claudia was also a threat, cause she like Kenya was beautiful AND witty, which is why she had Claudia axed. I guess she sensed she couldn’t survive both Kenya and Claudia 🤦🏽

Im so glad this was being said, throughout the seasons I watched NeNe change drastically, it was honestly kinda sad to the point where she was a prominent problem and was causing a lot of the drama herself, if she ever comes back I hope she can get that old sisterhood spirit back she used to.
Soon as she got on Glee, she thought she didn't need Bravo anymore. Thats when the true Ego came in. But she got humbled quickly when that show got cancelled. She came crawling back with the quickness.
Glee was never a good show to begin with so even if it lasted for another six years, Nene could easily get typecast as the sassy sidekick friend hahaha

I originally liked Nene however I turned off her when she turned the ladies away from her home for being late....after travelling for miles by plane and the ladies were hungry...She showed no empathy and the worst thing for me is that she constantly turned up late for events that she did not have to travel far for on purpose! And she felt no way sending them back home..only offering cheese and crackers!! Not even wanting to hear why they were delayed (it could of been anything) the lack of empathy was tooooooooooo much for me.
Yeah, I remember that CRAZY MESS!! I couldn't believe that she did that and the ladies DID nothing to deserve the way that she treated them when they arrived to her home!!! Nene not only fumbled the bag with Bravo but Ryan Murphy too .....Ryan Murphy is still very much around on TV and Netflix, yet Nene hasn't worked with him since the cancelation of Glee and The New Normal. Ryan Murphy is like Tyler Perry in the sense that actors will often appear in multiple projects with him. Angela Bassett started working with Ryan on American Horror and now stars and a executive producer on the show 911.
You're right and Nene had the potential to make more money working with Ryan Murphy than with Bravo. Murphy used to love her, but something must have happened to disrupt that gravy train.
This was SPOTTT ON! Nene used to be my favorite till she clashed with Kenya Moore. Kenya exposed Nenes true colors and that’s when I fell in love with Kenya.
Honestly, I noticed that Nene hated on anyone who she felt threatened by. Kim and her song “Tardy for the Party”, Kandi and her fame, successful career and multiple streams of income. Of course Kenya was a target because of her dynamic presence. Marlo for befriending Kenya and Claudia for her beauty and ability to read. The list goes on and on. I'm from the UK and Nene was the reason I first took an interest in rhoa but after a while she just started to get on my nerves with her egotistical attitude, as for Kim I found her annoying from the start i was pleased to see her go. Nene could of still been a big star if she had humbled herself she only has herself to blame. You did a great job with this video.
I actually had to go back to the first season to remind myself why I didn't like her! She started with everyone first and always wanted to play victim. The same thing with Tamar. She drew blood first on her sister's and then wanted to play victim. I don't feel sorry for people like this. They are mean and they will use and abuse anyone around them to get to the top. It is funny how people claim nene's ego ruined her career, but Kim's ego is just as bad. Plus, Kim and her husband are as racist as crap, but they are letting her back on RHOA. Bravo Andy allowing Kim back on RHOA after she refused to film and would not stay the whole time, leaving when she wanted. Kim stated that she would never come back on RHOA. I do not want to see Kim on RHOA pretending she has a relationship with Black people.
That’s what I think. I do think Bravo agreed to a settlement just to shut her up and get it out the way (since it seemed like the lawsuit was a cry for a check in my opinion) but her attorneys took a fat chunk if not the majority.

You reflect my exact sentiments on Nene. I feel Bravo is done with her, because there is an old saying that you teach people how to treat you. To take her back after suing them with damaging accusations would be a slippery slope. That being said, I hope she makes a comeback on another network and brings back the Nene from season 1 and 2, and remains humble. I feel her popularity is waning, because she was on College Hill and I haven't heard anyone speak about it, except to say Stacy quit. I feel Ryan Murphy could have given her a place in his American Horror Story franchise that could have boosted her acting career, but that appears to be another burned bridge. Nene’s ego was her downfall. This is where I think it went wrong… once she got into “Hollywood” and had some acting gigs, her head BLEW UP! She suddenly thought she was above housewives… then Hollywood quickly figured out she had absolutely no talent and couldn’t act for shit.
She only had some acting roles because of her popularity. Once Hollywood closed the door, she ran back to housewives full time and thought she was above the girls and she owned the show.

I originally liked Nene however I turned off her when she turned the ladies away from her home for being late....after travelling for miles by plane and the ladies were hungry...She showed no empathy and the worst thing for me is that she constantly turned up late for events that she did not have to travel far for on purpose! Angela Bassett started working with Ryan on American Horror and now stars and a executive producer on the show 911.

You reflect my exact sentiments on Nene. I feel Bravo is done with her, because there is an old saying that you teach people how to treat you. To take her back after suing them with damaging accusations would be a slippery slope. That being said, I hope she makes a comeback on another network and brings back the Nene from season 1 and 2, and remains humble. I feel her popularity is waning, because she was on College Hill and I haven't heard anyone speak about it, except to say Stacy quit. I feel Ryan Murphy could have given her a place in his American Horror Story franchise that could have boosted her acting career, but that appears to be another burned bridge. I often wonder about Gregg; if he was truly happy in that marriage. I think he deserved better. RIP Gregg Leakes 🙏🏾
And she let it be known in Greg's last days that he was a burden because she had to care for him. The man was dying and still kind to her and she rolled her eyes at him and complained about his disease.
He dies and she goes right to work on social media complaining about how the women didn't give her expensive enough gifts/flowers for the funeral.
Who does that?
What was it, 2 months after his death that she was all made up and showing off her new man? Who does that, too?
He's married? No big deal. Same thing she trashed everyone else for and she was flaunting it.
Andy and Bravo are racist? She didn't see any racism when she was collecting those fat checks, not a peep. She doesn't get her way and now, he's racist?
She can stay all the way home with that ego.

@GetMeOutta Tennessee - u said a mouthful. Poor Gregg, dying of cancer & his narcissistic wife couldn't have cared less. Just the thought of someone being neglected in their final days 😢. I guess he wasn't dying fast enough. I hope that RHOA/Bravo are totally done w/her & that when people say her name, others will say, "Who? Never heard of her".

I disagree, she was funny and charming in a way, if she wasn't then she wouldn't have stayed on RHOA.

Call me foolish, but I miss Nene Lekes. Miss her antics, arguing, humor, and wise remarks. She let the fame and glitz get to her but I still like Nene!!
We cannot dismiss the role that production and the network played in making her look like a villain.
