We were so lucky to be given access to the reception space the day before. This meant I got to go in and take my time setting up the tables how I wanted them to look 🥰
I diyed centerpieces for my wedding a few months ago and needed to communicate the centerpieces to the day of coordinator. She did a fantastic job and if anything was out of place, I didn't notice. We put one table in each box and taped pictures of what they were supposed to look like to each one. I would equate the process with moving rather than packing a meal kit haha. We had 18 separate boxes!
Exactly what I was thinking. To put each table into one box. I’ve seen people put things of the same into one box (like all centerpieces in one box) but one table together makes a whole bunch more sense to me
Agree completely! I was the MOG then MOB plus wedding organizer. The first wedding I didn’t pre-pack well enough and ran out of time to set up (friends bailed me out). The second,my daughters wedding I used by own 17 sets of China and silverplate flatware. I also arranged the flowers. I did recruit volunteers but some bridesmaids weren’t helpful. By the time they tied on 125 chair bows they were so worn out they just omitted the very expensive chair bow pins. I completely understood -had underestimated the time/effort required. Plus I kept getting pulled aside for photos. Fortunately re-sold them to another bride who hopefully is having a smaller wedding. But I tried the instructions approach and no one looked at the list. Taping a list to the outside of the box would have been better. PS. If you use your own China some of the cups and saucers will get broken or lost
Great Tips from your experience! I have found it helpful to pack a box for each table top area because it saves time. Most venues are much larger than our homes and will take longer to set up than we think.
Extremely helpful as I am trying to determine what to DIY and what to buy/rent out. Knowing all the details of what goes into DIY gives me a realistic picture. Thank you, Jamie!
So, I’m doing the window pane type table number roster thing for seating chart, but I’m using 2 magnets to hold the papers up bc at the end up the night, you flip that around and on the back of the papers are the checklists for tear down/set up :) (the front magnet has a bow hot glued to it so you can’t immediately tell it’s a magnet
Thanks, Jamie! My wedding is in 37 days!!! I already thought about the organization of table decor because of your past videos and I plan on doing the box per table approach. 👰♀️ We’ve been waiting 3 years for this wedding to happen (there’s been several videos I’ve made about it, including mentions of you lol) and I’ve been enjoying the process so much… almost time!!! 🥳
My wedding is next month. I've been watching daily and even re-watching. 🙌❤️ This is something I was curious about. I have tubs of items and not sure how to organize all this for others to pull out.
Any tips on finding a venue that will stay open late? I'm from Poland and my fiance is American, and we have been struggling to find a place that will stay open even until 2am. Places often site noise ordinances, but bars are open until 2. Typically Polish wedding last until the morning, but we are just looking to 2am.
Is there a specific person that can decorate before the wedding? We don't have a wedding planner but our ceremony and reception venue has coordinators for the day
Jamie I love your wedding content! I was wondering if a possible video idea could be, how to plan/ timeline a non traditional wedding. Like with the ceremony in the evening with no formal sit down dinner.
PPS. If you are doing DIY finding a venue to set up the day before would be wonderful. We couldn’t but for my last sons wedding I’m going to request they look for one.
Hey Jamie, I’ve got a video idea for you: 5 ways how you can reveal that you‘ve had a secret elopement prior to your big wedding ceremony. My fiancé and I will have an elopement in Copenhagen next year and we want to keep it a secret until our wedding ceremony and celebration with our families in September 2023. I would love to hear your ideas on how we could reveal that major secret on our big day. Thank you an greetings from Germany 😊
It's been a few days and the link in her description seems to work now! If you click it, you'll have to add your email and info to a form, and then you'll get it emailed to you.
I’m curious….my fiancé’s mother is no longer with us, unfortunately she passed when he was a child and he was raised by his aunt. Doing the wedding ceremony program, do I just put “parents of the bride” and then “aunt and uncle of the groom”? Google did not help me with this.
@@laurens3857 hey, we went with “honorable parents of the groom”. Although his uncle wasn’t apart of raising him, I definitely didn’t want to isolate him. During the reception we still considered it the “mother/son dance”
Can you talk about DIY when you don't have a big space? My fiance and I are in a 1-bedroom apartment and I can't just diy and store everything until the big day
Can you just ask a friend or family member for basement space for the various projects? Or sometimes storage places have specials for small units like $30 a month. Just for a couple months. 💕
@@motionmuse5684 unfortunately we moved away from our friends and family and all of our new friends have apartments our size or smaller haha We didn't think to rent storage because I assumed that would be cost prohibitive in our high land value area, but I should have given it a shot!

Guardians of the groom? What did you end up doing?
