Im from swedish intel Middle east and love Israel..but Dayan was a not a general I would follow...cared more about himself than his men he was more a politician than general and manner with women was more than you can say about his behavement..., the politician liked him...BUT Ariel "Arik" Sharon on the other hand was a great general...for his men....but hated by the poltician so they never promoted him to LT general...Dayan he was a legend in is own mind....but in 73 war it was not Dayan or Eliazar that save Israel it was hardcases as Sharon, hard cases as Aharon Yariv etc....Dayan in the movie was defense minister so they missed it...he never wear the stripes during that war...if you see him in western wall he has no rank insignia that time but Y.Rabin was chief of staff and wear the sword with two flowers(or whatever Israel calls it) in real fotage

Moshe Dayan was born May 20, 1915, so he would have been 52 at the time of the 6 day war.
