Both of these animals have been raised by humans since they were under six weeks old. They would not know how to fend for themselves, or find things to eat. They would approach strange humans and probably be hurt. They have a large aviary, and if they choose, they can fly all over the 2 story house. I appreciate your concern, but I only have disabled, or imprinted birds :)
I love all your birdy videos! I'm so impessed how well you treat them. Most people want "cute" yellow birds or expensive maccaws. Ravens and crows are just as good, if not better!
Edgar is a hybrid African Pied Crow/white-necked raven, and they are not idigenous to the United States; so yes, it's legal. I think it's great your Grandma took care of the owls! You learn a lot about wildlife by spending time with them, and bless her heart.
"You're going to bite me, aren't you" I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who says this to my raven! (also glad to know that it's a raven thing and not just a 'Sam" thing. Lol!
They are supposedly smarter than Parrots. I've never had parrots, so I can't really say; but Edgar is extremely intelligent and crafty :) I viewed your "favorites" and you have some great ones. I favorited the snake with the dwarf hamster :)
I love how big Ravens get I watched a Raven (crow? I couldn't tell because I didn't have both a crow and a raven for comparison) sitting ontop of our apartments and a squirrel skiddish as ever walked up to it, the raven stared at him and jumped up, the squirrel darted off never to be seen again. Love raven/crow antics!
Not by nature. Edgar gets a little mean if you pay too much attention to one of the other birds :) He gets jealous. But they are affectionate, intelligent, birds.
@euromerc why thank you for information. I dont exactly plan on getting one at the moment.. I live up in the mountains, i would actually like to have one captive for a year or 2 then just let it free where i live. but i would like to see every so often. Do you think it would just never come back? or sometimes visit ? I dont want to keep him/her in a cage or even a house where they cant fly. more like give them freedom to fly but sometimes come back. or is that just not possible ? Thank you
@duanlang4ever * That's a myth. They're interested in EVERYTHING. You can give them a toilet paper roll, and they're just as engaged with it as a shiny thing :)
Please call your local wildlife rescue and ask how you can help you might be able to care for 1 or more birds, often birds thast have been hit by cars or attacked by hawks, falcons, and owls become unable to fly properly again but could provide you years of companionship. There are often opportunities to rehome pets as well through these agencies legally, after owners become ill die or abandon their pets who can no longer survive in the wild. Please make that call.
Also a difference between ravens and crows are how they sound, right? Crows sound softer I recall, we have a lot of crows around but sadly no ravens, I love ravens, how they sound..
You can have hybrid crows/ravens from Africa, which you can get from Corvid Ranch. It's illegal to possess them in the U.S. unless you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, or are working under one.
@Koroush51 Certain types yes, in this case I'm assuming it's a Common Raven and most likely an American Crow, both of which are illegal to own in the USA. Though you're allowed to hunt them It's even illegal to have any part of them in your possession even if you plan to rescue them and let me free. It's strange that some exotic rare birds can be allowed as pets yet, these common corvids aren't allowed?
If I were to see where I can find a place where I could adopt rescue crows, where should I start? Btw I live in Canada, so i'm not really sure what the rules are here for that.
all of your videos MAKE ME WANT A RAVEN !!! near my house every day we have about atleast 5 to 6 ravens flyin near our house.. and after seeing your videos... studying .. and watching at home .. they are very interesting .. and they actually seem like neat birds to own. Unfortunately they are illegal i guess from reading around. its vary unfortunate because i would love to have one. and considering i have nothing but time on my hands i could probably handle him/her all day. no way to get one?
@libragemleo thats what i have been doing ... did you actually read the whole comment ? i clearly put once about studying them and once about reading online .. dont need to be rude about it
@billygotgrove ~ apology accepted. There are actually people on TH-cam who hunt them, and make all kinds of horrible remarks, so I thought you were one of them :)
hey, i would like ask 2 thing. is raven a crow too, but a other type? and if yes, what type is more intelligent? scientifically, course. sorry, in south american, we dont have these amazing black birds, but the curiosity yes
both are very smart and there should be south american varients of crows and ravens also no, they aren't the same bird at all, more like cousins ravens are much bigger......and tougher (in the wild) they are related to blue jays, mockingbords, lyre birds, and magpies
yep, i did a search about it. Ravens are bigger than crows and lonely too. both are awesome. No, here we haven't Corvus, but we have jackdaws that are of the corvidae family too. thank you dude :)
CeifadorFO Oi, como vai voce? I think both birds should be protected. If it is illegal to hunt dolphins and great apes based upon their intelligence, crows should be as well.
You should not keep such intelligent animals-especially those that imprint on their caretakers- as pets. I’m conflicted because they are truly adorable 😅
"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again." Exodus 21: 7-8 Words to live by, my friend! Jesus is lord!
is the crow native? Even if it is an injured rescue you cant have them without a dnr approved permit. And to obtain that you have to be a rescue that also uses the animals for education

My magpie found this video very interesting to watch!
Thank you for all you do for your corvid friends.
You Have a Magpie!?????? My heart sings. I Am much more of a Magpie than anything else..kudos!!
That's cute. Birds are so smart.
SHINY!!! VERY SHINY!! LOL...Corvids...gotta love them....they love shinys as much as I do.
You have a pet raven and a pet crow! How Awesome!
They are soooo cute :3 I raised a baby crow once. She was a noisy little thing, but I loved her.
I love all your birdy videos! I'm so impessed how well you treat them. Most people want "cute" yellow birds or expensive maccaws. Ravens and crows are just as good, if not better!
Better

Awe. Y'all have a special place in my heart
Thanks! I feel blessed that God has intrusted them to me :)
Lol cool that your raven is named Edgar :D
@CutingDoom ~ Ravens are the same species as crows, but larger...and actually quite beautiful :)
Now I have a crow. And he poops all over everything. Like he drops a bomb every minute. How do you not have poop all over your floor?!
They are supposedly smarter than Parrots. I've never had parrots, so I can't really say; but Edgar is extremely intelligent and crafty :) I viewed your "favorites" and you have some great ones. I favorited the snake with the dwarf hamster :)
@TheTrueNinja12 ~ Ravens also have much larger feet than crows, even when they are babies.
Haha when you dropped the watch Ricky was like, "Oh snap, hold up! SHINY!" *takes and runs* xD cute birds you have there.
I love how big Ravens get
I watched a Raven (crow? I couldn't tell because I didn't have both a crow and a raven for comparison) sitting ontop of our apartments and a squirrel skiddish as ever walked up to it, the raven stared at him and jumped up, the squirrel darted off never to be seen again. Love raven/crow antics!
Have you ever seen a Crow fight a hawk for space?
Beautiful raven magnificent creatures they are :)
Let's put it this way, ravens have the intelligence of a five year old.
Not by nature. Edgar gets a little mean if you pay too much attention to one of the other birds :) He gets jealous. But they are affectionate, intelligent, birds.
Your corvids are beautiful, you are so lucky to have them! This is a good vid for people who can't tell the differences between crows and Ravens!
@euromerc why thank you for information. I dont exactly plan on getting one at the moment.. Glad to see I'm not the only one whose home is a wreck due to Corvids
Hee hee! The crow loves bling
@cccodywa ~ Do you notice anything alike about those two names? The species is
"corvus".
@duanlang4ever * That's a myth. They're interested in EVERYTHING. You can give them a toilet paper roll, and they're just as engaged with it as a shiny thing :)
Sparkly! 0_0
i have young wild grey crow , what do they eat ? i feed it with lobworms and little fish .
@SarethZhukov314 ~ Ravens are larger than crows, have larger bills and larger feet. They also have shaggy feathers under their throat.
Please call your local wildlife rescue and ask how you can help you might be able to care for 1 or more birds, often birds thast have been hit by cars or attacked by hawks, falcons, and owls become unable to fly properly again but could provide you years of companionship. Crows sound softer I recall, we have a lot of crows around but sadly no ravens, I love ravens, how they sound..
@euromerc no he jumped and then the squirrel ran away! it was cute :D
that would actually be really neat to help a bird be rehabilitated back to good health
In your opinion, which is more affectionate, crows or ravens?
The only place that I know of to by a hybrid Raven, is Corvid Ranch, in Alabama, USA.
You can have hybrid crows/ravens from Africa, which you can get from Corvid Ranch. It's illegal to possess them in the U.S. unless you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, or are working under one.
Oh! its a hybrid raven,
You should tell them to go to Wal-Mart and buy another watch!;)
Oy! Did ever know that something could poop so much!
@Koroush51 Certain types yes, in this case I'm assuming it's a Common Raven and most likely an American Crow, both of which are illegal to own in the USA. 0:25 own it own it!!! yeeaah! xD
@RedStarWolf
These non-native corvids, were they peds from these people?
If I were to see where I can find a place where I could adopt rescue crows, where should I start?
Btw I live in Canada, so i'm not really sure what the rules are here for that.
what's the difference between crows and ravens?
@Getaro ~ go to Wikipedia and search for crows, then ravens. On their pages they have sounds examples of each.
@mankalephallang ~ The non-native corvids come from a breeder: Corvid Ranch. They are from Africa.
Lol!!! For being "so smart", ravens sure have terrible spacial reasoning. EVEN I COULD TELL THERE'S NO WAY THAT SHOE WAS GOING TO FIT!
But they are Super Busy
don't they love shiny things?
Whats the difference between a crow and a raven?
Where did you get them? I want one! 😭
i always wanted pet ravens , i have parrots but would like to get a raven, does anyone know where to buy them in st ives cornwall ?
For the watch.
what's the difference between a crow & a raven?
Are their wings clipped?
@Prfctdrk ~ The squirrel startled the raven, otherwise the raven probably would have grabbed at it!
Hi, Debby!
all of your videos MAKE ME WANT A RAVEN !!! near my house every day we have about atleast 5 to 6 ravens flyin near our house.. and after seeing your videos... studying .. and watching at home .. they are very interesting .. and they actually seem like neat birds to own. @Prfctdrk ~ It's so silly. His name is Ricky, but I call him MiMi. long story...
Actually, my ex-fiance named him after Edgar Allen Poe/.**=
He just typed those last 5 characters, and is tugging on my computer mouse :)
To cute.
@C32347K17732 not really, it removes essential oils that help them molt and keep things like dirt and bugs off of their feathers.
These Are My birds.. you See the Crow in me..
So is a Raven just a bigger better crow?
Andres Torres they are different birds.
neither of them seem to care about the watch
My Camera!!
@libragemleo thats what i have been doing ... did you actually read the whole comment ? i clearly put once about studying them and once about reading online .. dont need to be rude about it
@RedStarWolf ~ I found out that CROWs and ravens don't mate in the wild, but the African Ravens do..... via John Marzluff.
@blackcrow219 ~ My ravens are more vocally adept at imitations that the crows.
I want a fucking Raven now!
maybe they are smart enough to know that they should not be pooping all over the place
@Hedphelym ~ yes.
@FlowingDepths ~ They're very smart :)
0:52 i take it again !
nah joke raven u mad?!
Oh, so sorry :(
I think you may have made the annotations wrong, you said Mimi the Crow but the box says Ricky :P
There ya go, Cujo9, contact AdamskiNior!
i wanna one of them :(
@billygotgrove ~ apology accepted. There are actually people on TH-cam who hunt them, and make all kinds of horrible remarks, so I thought you were one of them :)
what happened to the crow and raven
Where ya from...? I'm
In California .. I have a raven
Did you name Edgar after Edgar Allen Poe's poem about the raven?
@CanadianReich ~ yes.
i thought ravens were WAY bigger
hey, i would like ask 2 thing. is raven a crow too, but a other type? and if yes, what type is more intelligent? scientifically, course.

The size difference tho...
You should not keep such intelligent animals-especially those that imprint on their caretakers- as pets. I’m conflicted because they are truly adorable 😅
@tinjmail The most prominent difference is their beak. At least, that's what my sources tell me..... Ravens have a larger beak than crows.
@1994toyotasupra _ You can obtain a hybrid African raven from Corvid Ranch in Alabama.

hahahah epic comment :D
@euromerc It's legal to hunt them in most States. Kinda sad.
@euromerc yeah thyre like look shiny :'D!!!
Contact your local animal wildlife rescue maybe you can care for a bird with permanent injuries.
@shroomingnewman ~ I'd have to say ravens.
Crow vs. Raven? Ravens *are* crows...
Wow! That's impressive! Gosh, you sure know how to get rescued birdies to act like parrots.
@RedStarWolf ~ There could be. They exist in Africa.
@SarethZhukov314 ~ See my video "Crow vs. Raven in Size
