Theek hai ki reservation ka basis past ki untouchability hai, but currently there are so many benefits other benefits are given by going over and above reservation like no tution fees for sc/st students despite of their economic backgrounds, extra scholarship not on the basis of academic performance but just on the base of caste. Then after education where reservations were given for the level playing field, we have reservations in govt. job, fine ok. But then there are promotions in govt jobs based on caste rather than seniority. These things rather than decreasing discrimination, create a sense of jealousy, anger and hate in the general category which defeats the purpose of reservation.

Want to back reservations, but reservations able to utilised by few only and not giving opportunities to lowest in economically and influentially in same reservation categories people when few only utilises reservations again and again, how do you expect upliftment of people in lower pyramid. Even after another 200years also same reservations continues if actual issues are not focused and only remains political game. Even in reserved categories able to contest in politics who have money and influence in reserved categories people then always leftovers are being in same status as it was in thousands of years. I’m as such a big fan of the Haryanvi or Punjabi style of both talking with style and tackling things head on :-) Khaap can’t supersede the law of the land. That’s the only problem. So even if 1 person is in opposition to the khaap but in line with the law then that person deserves protection from the tyranny of the majority (enforced via khaap). Where khaap panchayats make decisions in tune or in line with the law of the land, i have no problem. It’s only when law says one thing and khaap says or “advises” another thing that the khaap has to be kept in check. In this video, people don’t want reservations due to their belonging to poorer economic strata but at the same time want to enforce casteist ideology/thought processes like no marriage within same gothram.. if that’s the case try to kae make that part of the law … (see if that idea holds across the community ) but don’t harm people who go against that advice so long as they are allowed to do so via their fundamental rights allowed by law. To repeat, the poorer sections within the dominant castes want to retain caste privileges while seeking sympathy against correct state policies of reservations given to downtrodden castes for their economic advancement.
