As a Kashmiri was waiting fr this. Basic divide is this Kashmir is concerned over 370 35A Statehood and development is secondary. Reason being they feel 370/35A was revoked to change demography of muslim character of state. Jammu feels relatively calm on this coz its demography was changed by India in 1947 through Jammu massacre.
Finally someone covering the very often ignored Jammu. J&K election coverage seems to have become only about Kashmir. Looking forward to some jammu region constituencies and candidates covered soon. kudos to newslaundry

Panchayat system is present here even before 1947 (1934/35 by Hari singh) Reshaped many a times post independence 1957/88 Many states (Ne india) still have 1 or 2 tier prs does this mean 73rd and 74th caa is non functional there

I look at my own state and see that all our Naga youths of Nagaland have been imported to the service-based industry which has a shelve life, while we have much immigrant labour coming in looking for greener pastures. Skill development should be place-based and industry.

The coming of a new class called "aspirants" is I guess one important issue. We have demographic dividend in our favour but at the same time we have most of the youth in the four walls of libraries where they spending their most productive years which is very unfortunate. Contractualisation of jobs is another issue which I was expecting them to talk about. But nevertheless at least they talked and someone listened.

I feel sad for the J&K because it has became the buffer state for India and Pakistan because of that the locals are suffering. Pakistan is using J&K people for proxy war against India and the local politician leaders are also responsible for it.
