    One of my favourite things about owning leather goods is actually the care of them . I love cleaning them and polishing them and buffing them etc , I find it so therapeutic!

      You don’t have to do anything to them at all. If you don’t battle elements it’s probably not an issue. I have several I’ve never done a thing to. No worries.

    I never knew you were in the military!! My cousins are all active duty right now in the Army and Air Force. I never would have thought to substitute leather balm for shoe polish in a pinch. I was in my high schools Civil Air Patrol program and chuckled when you mentioned shining your boots. I was really good at it. Still am.

    I used Galen’s Leather Balm on their “Undyed but finished” TN in Natural, rolled it, and followed up with almost-30-year-old Coach Leather Lotion, then rolled it again. It softened considerably, but still not exactly to my liking. So, now, in addition to daily use, I weigh it down overnight with a stack of books in hopes that it will more closely conform around the spines of my inserts.

    How bad would it be to do it without removing the strings?

    • @chicsparrowofficial
      @chicsparrowofficial  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tina, you may get some polish on the strings and cause it to go in the holes if you aren't careful with your polishing. The polish may darken the strings but that only matters if it would bother you. Here is a video on restringing just in case you'd like to take the elastics out. th-cam.com/video/Wpro5qJki18/w-d-xo.html

    Thank you for sharin this information I was under the impression that I only needed a condition my leather once I had it a awhile and it became dry. My creme definitely stained very easily from water.
    I have your leather conditioner but it has become extremely hard do I need to heat it up first?

    • @chicsparrowofficial
      @chicsparrowofficial  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would heat it first and it will be nice for the leather. Leather protectant is not quite the same as conditioning. conditioners are more liquid and they soften the leather and offer very little if any protection. I hope that helps.
