Sydney Harbour BUST-UPS EVERYWHERE!! | Landbased Fishing Australia

  • In this episode, I head out fishing in the iconic Sydney Harbour to Target the mighty Yellowtail Kingfish. Despite the weather being a little wet & gloomy the fishing certainly didn’t disappoint. Even though I didn’t catch a Kingfish, I managed to catch my Personal Best (PB) Silver Trevally sizing up at 47cm! The day only got better when a large gathering of birds came mighty close and this only meant one thing.. BUST-UPS! I took out my little 10g Gillies Whitebait Metal and rapidly started to cast, further catching another PB Tailor/Bluefish sizing up at 47cm also!

    Hi All, I Just wanted to make a quick announcement as I have been receiving tons of messages on a daily basis regarding fishing locations on all my social media outlets. Please don't think I am being a douche or selfish about locations, rather the contrary. I don't share locations on a public forum because I've seen the negative impacts of SOME fisherman turning spots into rubbish tips, because I care about spots being over-fished and it's effects on our marinelife, because I care about the residents that live nearby and having hoards of fisho's stampeding by. Most of the people watching my videos, will find the spot over time and have a fish, which is great because it won't be an immediate open door flooding 100's of fisho's all at once. I've started TH-cam to help out as much as possible & share my experiences, so that we can all benefit. I just don't think publicly posting locations would be the right thing for me to do as the ramifications of doing so would make it un-enjoyable for all persons (you wouldn't be able to fish yourself if I publicly announced all fishing locations). I've been blackmailed, bribed, cursed at and nasty things said to my family & I if I wouldn't supply them with the fishing location. I do my own research and use Google Maps in Satellite mode to find locations, making sure fishing is permitted & checking ferry times & foot traffic. Please free to contact me via IG, FB & YT as I'm happy to help out as much as I can & steer you in the right direction. Thanks for your understanding & Tight-lines!

    Its been 35 years since i last fished there , used to fish under the bridge more often and when the tailor where on you could see 20 or more fishos lined up to get amongst the action . Back then we could get a day rover ticket that let you on buses, trains and ferries so i could fish a wharf then catch a ferry to the next one then give that a go .
    Nice trevally !

      Appreciate the kind words Ian. Woww that's awesome, definitely beats driving around if a spot isn't producing that's for sure. Funny you mention that, I saw an older gentleman fishing from one of the wharf's and he told me he rides the ferries around going spot to spot, he was targeting leather-jacket. Sure enough 1 hr later he jumped on the ferry and was onto the next wharf, he must have been around the 70 mark! What a cool grandad! :D

    Just found your channel, love it ! Good to find a quality channel fishing from shore in Sydney. One suggestion maybe do just a little more detail (doesn’t need to be a lot)on the Rig you use, hook size, trace length/weight, sinker weight etc for the new fishers out there.
    Keep up the great work

    nice catch, I've been watching your videos for a long time now and believe it or not, you inspired me to fish. I'm going with my mates to Sydney harbour and I was wondering if you could share this spot with me. The biggest fish I have ever caught is a 30 cm leatherjacket so I am dying to catch a big fish but I don't know any spots.

    • @FishingwithMarkiMark
      @FishingwithMarkiMark  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey mate, really appreciate the kind words & support. Really glad your enjoying the videos. Mate I've fished most wharf's in Sydney Harbour and you really have to pick your target species first then pick a wharf that suits your species. I.e Sandy Bottoms for, whiting, Flathead, tarwhine, jewfish & so forth. I don't publicly post locations on the videos as the spots will get flooded which would result in a more difficult fishing experience, even for yourself. Hope you understand mate :) Cheers.

    Hey Mark sweet vids lately. Do you keep many of the big and legal fish you catch, or are you picky on which species to eat from the harbour?

    • @FishingwithMarkiMark
      @FishingwithMarkiMark  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mate, thanks for the kind words and support! Most of the time I'll release my fish, but I am somewhat picky on the fish I eat from the Harbour. If I do take one home, I make sure it's pelagic that's only recently entered the river system. For instance I knew when the Kingfish started coming in, as a lot of fisho's including myself have been catching them so I'll take a couple of the early season kings! Also the bonito and mackerel haven't entered the system as of yet, but when they do I'll take a couple of bonito and so forth! :) Hope that helps & tight-lines.
